Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 School

"Continue."

Kyōmei pulled back his thoughts, no longer pondering, and raised his hand, about to continue familiarizing himself with the Clone Jutsu.

However, as soon as he formed the hand seals, he found that the chakra in his body was completely empty, utterly insufficient to support him in performing the Clone Jutsu again.

He opened the panel and took a glance; sure enough, his chakra was at rock bottom.

Recalling the memories in his mind, Kyōmei sat cross-legged, sinking his consciousness into his body, using his mind to extract the physical energy generated by the cells within him.

Afterward, he mixed it evenly with spiritual energy, and after a period of conversion, it transformed into chakra, merging into the chakra pathways distributed throughout his body.

As this process continued, the chakra in his body gradually became abundant.

...

One hour later.

Kyōmei opened his eyes.

"Panel!"

With a thought, Kyōmei opened the proficiency panel.

[Name: Uchiha Kyōmei

Age: 10

Constitution: 5

Spirit: 7

Chakra: 2→52 (125→126)

Bloodline: Sharingan · Unawakened (51/100)

Skills: Chakra Extraction Technique: lv0 (1/100)

Clone Jutsu: lv0 (6/100)]

Just like 'Clone Jutsu,' after he personally extracted chakra once, the panel gained a new skill called 'Chakra Extraction Technique.'

At lv0, the Chakra Extraction Technique could increase his chakra limit by one point and restore fifty points of chakra for every hour it was active.

At the same time, its proficiency would also increase by one point.

It was predictable that as its level increased, its effects would undoubtedly soar.

Currently, his growth rate might not be as fast as some geniuses, but that might not be the case in the future.

With this thought, Kyōmei no longer wasted time; he concentrated again, closed his eyes, and began extracting chakra.

...

Time ticked by, minute by minute.

In the blink of an eye, another hour had passed.

Kyōmei opened his eyes and felt the chakra in his body; it was almost at its limit, so he stopped extracting.

Of course, he couldn't continue extracting it either.

After all, chakra wasn't created out of thin air; the extraction process required consuming his physical and spiritual energy.

Earlier, integrating his predecessor's memories had consumed a lot of his mental energy, and then he was contemplating countermeasures and exploring the panel's functions; his spirit was already exhausted.

If he continued, it wouldn't necessarily damage his foundation, but it would at least yield half the result with double the effort.

Since that was the case, it was better to stop for now.

'However, the chakra in my body shouldn't be wasted either.'

Thinking of this, Kyōmei forced himself to cheer up, reviewed the memories in his mind, and once again began forming hand seals, attempting to use the Clone Jutsu.

A few minutes later, his chakra was depleted, and Kyōmei had performed Clone Jutsu a total of five times.

Without any surprise, all of them failed.

It made sense; even proper ninja academy students took several years to master the Three Basic Jutsu. For an outsider like him to expect success after just a few imitations was undoubtedly wishful thinking.

Even with the bonus of his predecessor's memories, he couldn't do it.

However, looking at the proficiency panel, he was only four-fifths of the way to success.

Now, the only thing restricting his progress was the amount of chakra.

But this point was difficult to improve in a short time; he wasn't some genius who had so much chakra at such a young age.

Currently, he could only develop step by step.

He looked up at the bright moon outside the window. Kyōmei no longer thought too much; after a brief wash-up, he returned to his bedroom.

Soon, soft snoring sounds came from inside the room.

Outside the window.

At some unknown point, a figure appeared.

His crimson eyes glowed exceptionally bright in the night, clearly an Uchiha ninja who had activated the Three-Tomoe Sharingan.

He stared at Kyōmei for a while, then silently disappeared.

...

The next day.

Early morning.

Kyōmei woke from his sleep, and the first thing he did was open the panel.

[Name: Uchiha Kyōmei

Age: 10

Constitution: 5

Spirit: 7

Chakra: 37 (127)

Bloodline: Sharingan · Unawakened (51/100)

Skills: Chakra Extraction Technique: lv0 (2/100)

Clone Jutsu: lv0 (19/100)]

After confirming that none of this was an illusion, he finally let out a long sigh of relief.

Subsequently, he focused his gaze on 'Chakra.'

It could be seen that after a night's rest, even without specially extracting chakra, his body had naturally recovered over thirty points of chakra.

However, Kyōmei didn't immediately consume it. He still had to go to school today, and if he needed it later, wouldn't that be a lot of trouble?

In fact, he had considered whether to take a few days off to first capitalize on the legacy left by his predecessor, but doing so might attract more attention.

In that case, it would be better to go to school!

Then, even if he revealed some flaws, he could explain it by citing the sudden major changes.

If he stayed at home and someone came looking for him, it would be even harder to fool them.

After weighing his options, Kyōmei decided to continue going to school; as long as he kept a low profile, he figured there wouldn't be too many problems.

With his decision made, Kyōmei no longer dwelled on it. He quickly tidied himself, ate something, filled his stomach, and then immediately headed to the Ninja Academy.

The Uchiha clan had not yet been forced to move to the village's outskirts; they were still in the central area, not far from the Ninja Academy.

Therefore, Kyōmei soon arrived at the school.

Following his memories, he found his classroom. Along the way, some people greeted him, and he merely nodded in response.

Fortunately, his predecessor, like many Uchiha clan ninjas, was rather aloof, otherwise it would have been truly difficult for him to feign.

Ding-dong~

About ten minutes later, the class bell rang.

A ninja in his twenties walked into the classroom. This was their homeroom teacher and also their subject teacher, named Sugiki Ittō.

From his predecessor's memories, he knew that this person, like most teachers in the school, didn't show too much obvious favoritism towards different students.

Therefore, Kyōmei didn't have to worry about the Uchiha surname causing trouble.

Just as he was thinking this, Kyōmei noticed Sugiki Ittō cast a glance his way, making Kyōmei's heart pound.

Fortunately, the other party didn't look for long and soon began the class.

At the podium, Kyōmei didn't hear a word of what Sugiki Ittō was saying, only wondering why the other person had looked at him just now.

He could be certain that the other party's glance was not a casual sweep, but a genuine observation of him.

'Did he discover something?'

Kyōmei felt uneasy in his heart.

Ding-dong~

Suddenly, the end-of-class bell rang.

Kyōmei was abruptly startled awake; unbeknownst to him, an entire class had already passed.

Sugiki Ittō looked at the absent-minded Kyōmei, shook his head, said nothing more, called "Class dismissed," and then left the classroom.

As Kyōmei's teacher, he naturally knew about the news of his parents' deaths in battle.

Or rather, he would receive news whenever a student in his class had a family member who sacrificed their life; this was specifically conveyed to teachers by the Konoha higher-ups.

As for the purpose—

Naturally, it was to enable them to guide their students in a timely manner, to prevent the emergence of extreme situations.

Originally, he was going to counsel Uchiha Kyōmei today.

But last night, a ninja from the Uchiha clan had already spoken to him in advance, telling him not to counsel, which is why he didn't interfere.

And the Uchiha's purpose in doing so was very simple: they wanted to see if Kyōmei could awaken his Sharingan.

For the Uchiha higher-ups, a clan member with ordinary aptitude becoming useless was nothing; if they could awaken a pair of Sharingan, that would be a huge gain.

Therefore, they didn't let Sugiki Ittō interfere.

If it were the future Iruka, he might have withstood the pressure and guided Kyōmei, but Sugiki Ittō was different; his sense of responsibility wasn't as great, so he went along with it.

Kyōmei, however, was unaware of all this. He was still feeling guilty about Sugiki Ittō's special attention.

However, after some thought, he roughly guessed that Sugiki Ittō likely harbored no ill will towards him.

He probably just knew about the news of his predecessor's parents' sacrifice, which led to a bit more attention being paid to him.

"Phew—"

After understanding all this, Kyōmei finally breathed a sigh of relief.
