Chapter 728 - Chapter 384: Uchiha's Return to Glory?

After a day of training, Shisui took the initiative to invite Obito to walk back to the Uchiha Clan Land together.

On the way, Shisui asked, "Obito, are you going to attend the clan meeting at eight tonight?"

The Uchiha would always notify about clan meetings in advance. Shisui received the notice last night that a clan meeting would be held today, so Obito should have received it as well.

Because the only threshold for attending an Uchiha Clan Council is having the identity of a ninja.

Whether Genin, Chunin, or Jonin, as long as you are a ninja, you can participate in the clan meeting.

On the contrary, ordinary people or Ninja School students do not have the right to attend the meeting, which was why Shisui didn't refute when he was besieged at the clan meeting; it did violate the Uchiha's rules at the time.

"A clan meeting, huh? If you hadn't mentioned it, I'd have forgotten. Yashiro came to tell me yesterday." Obito remembered that there was still a clan meeting tonight.

"I don't want to go. It feels very boring. I'd rather spend that time cultivating more," Obito replied.

Obito had only attended the clan meeting once, with Shisui, and found the Uchiha ninjas there to be boring—a bunch of self-important adults who only wanted to hear what they wished to hear.

This answer was expected by Shisui because the last clan meeting indeed left a bad impression on them both.

If it weren't for wanting to change the Uchiha, Shisui probably wouldn't want to deal with those clan members immersed in past glories either.

They gave Shisui a feeling as if the Uchiha were everything, and things outside the clan were unimportant.

Shisui believed this thinking was incorrect and too extreme; the Uchiha were also a part of Konoha.

"If possible, can you accompany me? I want to attend the clan meeting again," Shisui invited, hoping Obito would join him.

It's not that Shisui was nervous about going alone; he wanted to borrow Obito's presence to increase his own influence.

If Shisui went alone, he would just be a genius. If Obito was willing to accompany him, they would be seen as a duo, and their combined strength would be considered.

"Accompanying you is no problem at all. It is a bit lonely going alone," Obito agreed readily.

He didn't think too much into it; if a friend invited him, he'd go.

Obito had a way of dealing with situations like this: when there was something he didn't want to hear, he would concentrate on imagining something else until whatever he didn't want to hear was over.

Obito planned to use this distraction technique to handle the clan meeting; if he didn't like listening, he simply wouldn't.

"I'll come to find you when the time comes," Shisui said with a smile.

After arriving at the Uchiha Clan Land, the two parted ways. Obito went straight home, and Shisui first went to the nearby market to buy groceries.

Shisui lived alone, and having just returned from the battlefield, he didn't have ingredients ready and needed to buy groceries to cook.

After buying groceries, Shisui returned to his home, alone.

Shisui's home was very quiet, with only the slight sound of his footsteps and the noise of pots and pans being moved.

Thump, thump.

As Shisui was preparing dinner, there was a knock on his door.

"At this time, could it be that Obito has something urgent?" Shisui put down the utensils, undid his apron, and walked to the door.

It's dinner time, and generally, nobody comes to visit him during this time. Having just arranged with Obito to attend the clan meeting together, Shisui thought something might have happened with Obito.

When Shisui opened the door and saw the figure outside, he showed an expression of surprise and joy.

"Uncle, you're back." Shisui greeted.

The visitor was Shisui's uncle, Uchiha Nobuhiro.

"Yes, I just returned today, so I came to see you." Uchiha Nobuhiro replied with a smile.

Since Shisui lost his parents early, Uchiha Nobuhiro had always been concerned about whether Shisui could grow up normally, visiting whenever he had time.

Recently, Uchiha Nobuhiro heard some information about Shisui. After learning that Shisui had gained the title of Shisui of the Body Flicker on the battlefield, he felt both excited and relieved.

Compared to Shisui's current achievements at his age, even his grandfather Uchiha Kagami wasn't as accomplished; Shisui gained fame on the battlefield at just eight years old.

"Have you had dinner? If not, I can make some for you." Uchiha Nobuhiro asked.

Shisui invited Uchiha Nobuhiro inside, shaking his head, saying: "Not yet, but I was just cooking, no need to trouble you, Uncle."

Since Uchiha Nobuhiro rarely visited, Shisui didn't want to trouble him too much.

"Have you eaten, Uncle? If you haven't, I'll make a bit more." Shisui asked as he turned back.

"Then I'll have a taste of your cooking today," Uchiha Nobuhiro laughed heartily.

Uchiha Nobuhiro was happy to accept Shisui's offer, as Shisui was no longer the child who needed his care; he was now Shisui of the Body Flicker, who could defeat enemies on the battlefield.

During the meal, Shisui voluntarily shared some of his experiences on the East Coast Battlefield.

In the past, it was always Uchiha Nobuhiro recounting his mission experiences, so Shisui also wanted to share some of his stories.

"It was really dangerous, encountering ninja of the Seven-Swords Ninja caliber," Uchiha Nobuhiro sighed after hearing Shisui's account of the encounters.

The encounter battle described in the Konoha Newspaper painted the Konoha Ninja as invincible, deftly defeating the Hidden Mist, whereas Shisui's firsthand account was full of dangers, with every teammate pushing themselves to their limits to barely match the enemy.
