Chapter 475 - Chapter 277: Minato Is Back

After weighing the pros and cons, Mokgetsu began writing a reply to Shimura Danzo.

The beginning didn't need any substantial content, just a pledge of loyalty, to give Shimura Danzo the feeling that Mokgetsu still regarded him as the leader in his heart and considered himself a member of the Root.

After expressing loyalty, he started to discuss the difficulties, but he couldn't say how tough things were for him and that he couldn't help. Instead, he needed to write from the perspective of considering Shimura Danzo's position, expressing concern that as the vice-principal of the Ninja Academy, secretly going to the Root for special training might be discovered by Sarutobi Hiruzen, who might then blame the Root leader Shimura Danzo.

Mokgetsu thought that he could go to the Root to teach, but only on the condition that Sarutobi Hiruzen was informed.

If he conducted special training at the Root without Sarutobi Hiruzen's knowledge, enhancing the Root Organization's strength, a punishment might not follow when Sarutobi Hiruzen found out. However, the Root's mark on Mokgetsu would reappear, and Sarutobi Hiruzen would subconsciously think that Mokgetsu belonged to Shimura Danzo, which Mokgetsu didn't want to happen.

Mokgetsu wanted to be seen, in Sarutobi Hiruzen's eyes, as a firm supporter of the Hokage, while in Shimura Danzo's eyes, a loyal and reliable member of the Root.

This way, Mokgetsu could act in Konoha more conveniently; as long as it didn't touch certain interests, whatever Mokgetsu did would receive support.

This part was indeed tricky to handle because Danzo was not easy to talk to, so Mokgetsu didn't mention how difficult things were for him but spoke from the angle of potential negative impacts on Danzo's interests.

Then he casually fabricated some things about Obito to lessen Danzo's hostility towards Obito, and after another show of loyalty in the conclusion, the reply was finished.

After finishing, Mokgetsu checked it over and nodded.

After passing the civil service exam, he studied interpersonal relationships thoroughly, unexpectedly applying it not in an office, but in the Naruto World.

After writing, Mokgetsu notified a Root member via a secret Root communication method to retrieve the reply.

After settling dinner, Mokgetsu studied Fuinjutsu for two hours and then spent another hour developing the Breath of Wind, and finally studied the Flying Thunder God for two more hours.

When getting into bed, Mokgetsu glanced at the panel. The proficiency in Fuinjutsu learned from Kushina had increased significantly, but the Flying Thunder God Jutsu still hadn't made any breakthroughs.

Mokgetsu didn't think too much about it and soon closed his eyes to sleep, determined to follow his plan of studying for a month regardless of any changes.

Early the next morning, as Mokgetsu was making breakfast, the door to his house was knocked on.

Mokgetsu activated his Byakugan for a quick sweep, and after seeing who it was, a slight smile appeared on his face.

Although he already knew who was visiting, Mokgetsu still honestly walked to the door and, upon opening it, put on a surprised expression: "Minato, you're back! Has the frontline battle ended?"

The person knocking was Namikaze Minato, who had taken on an important war mission before.

"Not yet. On Hidden Cloud's side, the Eight-tailed Jinchuriki had an incident, which greatly improved the situation at the frontline. Besides, my task has been completed, so I came back," Namikaze Minato explained with a smile.

Hidden Cloud had been fighting on two fronts, and the death of the Eight-tailed Jinchuriki resulted in the loss of such a powerful combat force that they had to retract their forces to ensure homeland safety.

Hearing Namikaze Minato's words, Mokgetsu recalled some Naruto plotlines. He remembered that this matter seemed to be orchestrated by Orochimaru—unleashing the Eight-tailed Jinchuriki seal, causing the Tailed Beast and the Jinchuriki to separate, leading to the Eight-tails' rampage, and ultimately leaving Hidden Cloud with the aftermath while Orochimaru took a sample of the Eight-tails' horn.

"I just happen to be making breakfast. Come in and have a bite. You probably didn't have breakfast after such a long journey," Mokgetsu invited Minato inside with a smile.

Mokgetsu thought Minato's timing was great. If even Minato, with his master-level Flying Thunder God skills, couldn't help him achieve a breakthrough in proficiency, it would confirm his lack of space-time talent.

"That's indeed the case, so I'll trouble you then, Mokgetsu." Minato flashed an embarrassed smile as he entered Mokgetsu's home.

In fact, his arrival at this time wasn't coincidental; it was inevitable.

Minato calculated on his way that if he hurried, he could arrive back at Konoha just in time for breakfast at Mokgetsu's place.

Having spent so much time on the battlefield, Minato often dreamed of hanging out at Mokgetsu's house with Kushina, longing for both Kushina and Mokgetsu.

"There's no need for your help today, Minato. Breakfast isn't that complicated," Mokgetsu stopped Minato, who was familiarly heading towards the kitchen, gesturing that he should just sit and wait to eat.

Minato nodded and sat at Mokgetsu's dining table, a nostalgic expression appearing on his face as he smelled the aroma wafting from the kitchen.

It had indeed been some time since he last had Mokgetsu's cooking, and even longer since he last ate at Mokgetsu's house with Kushina.

"Kushina..." Thinking about Kushina, the Nine-tails Jinchuriki, Minato sighed softly.

If possible, he didn't want Kushina to be a Jinchuriki. It was too dangerous, both from the Nine-tails inside her and the hostility towards Jinchuriki from enemy ninja villages.

But there was nothing he could do; with his current level, he was aware of the reasons why Kushina came to Konoha. From the moment she arrived, her fate as a Jinchuriki was sealed.

As time passed, Mokgetsu brought plate after plate of breakfast to the table.

"This is really sumptuous." Minato praised as he looked at the omelet and grilled salmon on the plate.

Minato picked up the grilled fish, stuffed it into his mouth with rice, then took a sip of miso soup, feeling warm and comfortable all over, a look of happiness appearing on his face.
