"Examinee Might Guy and examinee Uchiha Obito, please enter the examination hall to prepare for the test."
Just as everyone expected, the final battle for the top of the grade's practical exam was between Might Guy and Obito.
Might Guy had defeated last exam's champion Hyuga Kamon, while Obito demonstrated formidable strength in his battles against other competitors.
"Obito, go for it." Nohara Rin, who was observing on the side, clenched her fists to cheer Obito on.
"Rin, just watch, I'll win." Obito waved confidently to Nohara Rin with a smile.
This time, he was determined to claim the first place.
To strengthen his abilities, he'd taken a lot of hardship from that annoying guy Kakashi.
With a month of training in nature transformation and ninjutsu, and a month of taijutsu strengthening, Obito was no longer the ninja who couldn't perform ninjutsu when hit by taijutsu two months ago.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, just watch and see my progress!" Obito noticed that Teacher Mokgetsu had also arrived at the exam site.
"I'll be the one to become number one!" Might Guy flashed a dazzling smile, his rows of bright white teeth shining particularly brightly in the sun.
In terms of confidence, he wouldn't lose to Obito.
Even when he failed the ninja school entrance exam, he still believed he would become the strongest!
"Moreover, Teacher Mokgetsu is watching, so I can't afford to lose." Might Guy thought to himself.
Mokgetsu's kindness was something he always remembered in his heart, and Mokgetsu's words that a student's improvement in strength was the best repayment were something he hadn't forgotten. He wanted to showcase his strongest prowess for Mokgetsu to see.
"Then let's see, the practical exam isn't like previous training sessions where ninjutsu can't be used." Obito said while forming the Seal of Opposition.
"Let's see whose youth can burn more fiercely." Might Guy also followed the rules and formed the Seal of Opposition.
Watching the two form the Seal of Opposition, Mokgetsu mentally simulated some outcomes of the match.
In terms of strength, the two weren't very different. Although Obito's taijutsu wasn't as good as Might Guy's, Obito knew two Fire Release ninjutsu, while Might Guy only knew the Three-Body Jutsu in terms of ninjutsu.
However, Mokgetsu felt that Might Guy's chances of winning were slightly higher.
Although Might Guy seemed a bit silly at times, he was actually very calm when fighting, while Obito tended to be more erratic and could easily get distracted during battle.
So even if their strengths were comparable, Mokgetsu had more faith in Might Guy.
"The exam begins!" Shortly after the two formed the Seal of Opposition, the proctor announced the start of the battle.
"Leaf Whirlwind!"
As soon as the proctor's words fell, Might Guy instantly charged forward, executing his most practiced taijutsu kick towards Obito at high speed.
However, having been kicked by this move countless times, Obito was already prepared and quickly leaned to the side to evade the kick.
Immediately after, as Obito retreated, he swiftly threw several shurikens towards Might Guy.
Might Guy had a vague idea of Obito's strategy, but Obito's shuriken-throwing technique was quite good, forcing Might Guy to dodge backward.
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!" After creating some distance, Obito didn't dare waste a second, instantly forming hand signs to cast his most proficient Fire Release.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Raging flames continuously spewed from Obito's mouth, quickly forming a gigantic fireball as tall as two people, then it hurled towards Might Guy.
"It's great to be from a ninja clan. Even if you haven't graduated, you can learn such powerful ninjutsu." A student looked admiringly at the terrifying fireball.
He was also a fourth-year student and currently had only mastered the Three-Body Jutsu taught by the school.
"Ninjutsu isn't that easy to learn. Having a ninjutsu scroll doesn't guarantee you'll learn it either." A second-generation ninja nearby retorted.
He wasn't from a ninja clan, but since his parents were both ninja, he'd only mastered the Three-Body Jutsu as well.
"This level of Fire Release isn't something students, or even Genin, should be capable of!" A Chunin teacher who knew Fire Release couldn't help but exclaim.
The Fire Release ninjutsu he performed was only at this level.
"Yeah, as expected of a student from the Uchiha Clan." A teacher agreed.
The fireball continued to hurl towards Might Guy, who skillfully avoided its focal point, quickly retreating to the side and soon exiting the attack range of the Great Fireball.
Obito quickly launched several shurikens to block Might Guy's movements, as the Great Fireball couldn't turn.
But to Obito's surprise, Might Guy used a kunai to deflect all the shurikens he shot, successfully retreating before the Great Fireball exploded.
"Fortunately, Obito's shuriken-throwing isn't as good as Shisui's. Otherwise, I would have been injured." Might Guy breathed heavily, feeling a bit relieved in his heart.
During a fight with Shisui, Shisui's shuriken-throwing had caused him significant trouble.
Having experienced Shisui's pressure, facing Obito now was just right.
"The Great Fireball is still too hard to hit someone with. I should have used Mighty Dragon Fire." Obito felt a bit remorseful.
He believed Mighty Dragon Fire might be better, but since he had used the Great Fireball to win first place in the Youth Ninjutsu Competition last time, Obito felt that using the Great Fireball to win first place in the practical exam would be more meaningful.
But there was no time for Obito to reflect, as Might Guy had already seized the opportunity to explode Chakra from his leg and charged forward.
"Leaf Whirlwind!"
Might Guy once again executed his most practiced kicking technique.
"Guy, your speed is no match for Kakashi's Instant Body Jutsu." Obito couldn't help but reveal a smug smile after dodging Might Guy's attack.
He felt that Might Guy's taijutsu wasn't that hard to deal with.
Then, Obito attempted to engage in a taijutsu battle with Might Guy.
However, Obito quickly found that he had underestimated, as he wasn't able to match Might Guy in either strength or speed, and was quickly getting pushed back, relying solely on excellent body technique to dodge.
"Although Uchiha Obito's Fire Release is good, Might Guy's taijutsu is also excellent. If this continues, Uchiha Obito is going to lose." A teacher noticed Obito's shortcomings.
Not making full use of his strengths and competing against Might Guy in taijutsu—how could he possibly win?
Iketani Isamu smiled without saying a word. After all, both students were from his class, and it didn't matter who won, he would still get the prize money.
Watching the conclusion unfold as per his simulation, Mokgetsu remained unfazed internally.
In truth, it didn't really matter who won, as both had cultivation tasks. Compared to the victor, he was more curious about the rewards that would be settled later.
"Leaf Great Whirlwind!"
Might Guy delivered his most powerful kick yet, surpassing any he had executed before.
The sudden burst of speed from Might Guy caught Obito a bit off guard. He failed to dodge this attack and was kicked several meters back.
"The fourth-year practical exam is over, the final winner is Might Guy!" The proctor announced the conclusion of the final exam.
Just as the exam ended, Mokgetsu's system also reported, entering the settlement for the cultivation tasks.
