Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: How Did You Know I Got First Place?

Iketani Isamu stood behind Kimura Sugihito with a big smile, massaging his shoulders and back while speaking in a flattering tone:

"Sugihito, can you lend me eighty thousand ryo again? I'll pay you back on payday."

Kimura Sugihito thought to himself that, sure enough, when someone offers help without reason, they're up to no good. This massage service is quite costly.

"Why do you need to borrow again? Didn't you borrow last month?" Kimura Sugihito sighed helplessly.

"Didn't I pay you back after payday last month?" Iketani Isamu chuckled.

"So you're borrowing again this month, then you'll repay it, which will leave you with no money next month, so will you need to borrow again?" Kimura Sugihito asked.

Thinking along these lines, he practically became Iketani Isamu's personal eighty thousand ryo.

"Uh..." Iketani Isamu was at a loss for words.

"It's not like you think, Sugihito. It's mainly because I just met someone new, so I have to put in some effort to show sincerity. I definitely won't borrow again next month," Iketani Isamu tried to explain.

"You said it yourself, don't forget." Eventually, Kimura Sugihito took out his wallet and handed eighty thousand ryo to Iketani Isamu.

He wasn't heartbroken over the eighty thousand ryo, because, despite Iketani Isamu being atypical when it comes to emotions, he was decent otherwise and would repay the money.

Kimura Sugihito just felt that lending money to Iketani Isamu was harming him, dragging him deeper and deeper.

"Not borrowing next month? Kimura, you're overestimating him. I can already foresee his excuse next month," Ueda Aya took a pessimistic stance.

Then she imitated Iketani Isamu's tone, saying, "Sugihito, just lend me one last time. I feel like I can confess successfully this month, I definitely won't borrow next month."

Iketani Isamu: ...

"If it's a first date, going to a better restaurant to leave a good impression is understandable, but you've been together for two months. If she truly cares about you, she wouldn't refuse to join you for ramen," Ueda Aya tried to awaken Iketani Isamu's sleeping intelligence.

"And can't you pick a time yourself? Every time you make Teacher Mokgetsu cover for you," Ueda Aya said as Mokgetsu walked in.

"She said she's unavailable at other times, it's either today or next time when she's free," Iketani Isamu said, feeling a bit of a headache.

He hated troubling Mokgetsu every time and even thought of covering a class for Mokgetsu in return, but was always refused.

"No problem, I'm idle anyway, teaching more students can also enhance my abilities," Mokgetsu smiled as she walked to her desk.

"Teacher Mokgetsu is really too nice, but this kind of personality tends to lead to loss," hearing Mokgetsu's words, Iketani Isamu couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

Feeling somewhat guilty, Iketani Isamu couldn't help but go over to Mokgetsu, helping with tea and saying nice things.

Until it was almost time, Iketani Isamu left the office, went home to change clothes and prepared for dating.

"If Iketani Isamu were the Taijutsu teacher of class one, it would be great," Mokgetsu thought.

That way, there would be no need to change teachers, Iketani Isamu asking him to cover classes a bit more diligently would be no different from being the Taijutsu teacher himself.

Directly applying to the third generation to become class one Taijutsu teacher doesn't make sense, how would a normal person think so proactively about filling their schedule with classes?

This would also cause a discrepancy in character, if someone asks you to cover a class, you help, you're a good person, but if you're actively fighting to teach, what's your motive?

"Start from student dissatisfaction and the Taijutsu teacher's own teaching ability," Mokgetsu thought.

The Ninja Academy values strength most, if letting students and school leaders know that the Taijutsu teacher's classes impact strength growth, it would be easier to handle.

Next, Mokgetsu continued practicing calligraphy until it was nearly class time.

When Mokgetsu walked into the classroom of year four, class two, the students were already used to it.

Mokgetsu taught them once a week consistently, and they already considered Mokgetsu their regular teacher.

"Teacher I..."

Obito was, as usual, late, and Mokgetsu didn't say anything, letting Obito sit down and listen.

"Terrible Iketani teacher!" Obito quietly complained, feeling that Iketani Isamu always picked the wrong time for Mokgetsu to cover classes.

"Did you encounter an elderly person who needed help?" Nohara Rin asked.

"I didn't today; I lost track of time while choosing pens in the bookstore," Obito answered honestly.

"Why not choose after school in the afternoon? Lunchtime is so short, did you skip lunch?" Nohara Rin asked a bit puzzled.

"Skipping one meal's fine, I'll eat more in the evening, mainly because I've visited quite a few stores recently, and felt this particular one was the best this noon," Obito replied.

"Really, what can be more important than eating, I have some snacks, let me give them to you after class," Nohara Rin said helplessly.

Obito nodded and stopped chatting with Nohara Rin, Mokgetsu's class was something he had to attend to.

Forty minutes passed quickly, and when the class bell rang, Mokgetsu announced the end of the class, and Nohara Rin handed Obito the snacks.

"Obito, how many did you help today..." A familiar classmate came over to tease Obito.

"How did you know that I got first place in the Youth Ninjutsu Contest last weekend?" Obito preemptively said.

With Obito's words, the teasing words of the classmate couldn't come out; it felt like having a lemon in the mouth, eight thousand ryo as the prize.

Not far, Uchiha Tekka was also silent.

The Great Fireball that Obito used in the contest still lingered in his mind. He thought with the lesson from the last contest, he might beat Obito if he paid attention to the Mighty Dragon Fire next time.

Yet a Youth Ninjutsu Contest wrecked his confidence.

Seeing the expressions of those around, Obito's smile grew brighter.

Next, Obito had to step out each class break, and when meeting people, would say, "How did you know I'm first," maximizing the benefit of being first.

[Lecture Completed]

[Evaluation: A]

[Reward: Water Release: Hidden Mist Jutsu]

Seeing the lecture reward, Mokgetsu nodded quietly; this is a useful Jutsu, although not of high level.

The mist created by this Jutsu isn't ordinary fog; it can blur the Sharingan's vision, and the Hidden Mist Jutsu used by Terumi Mei can even somewhat hinder Madara's Rinnegan.

It's still quite impressive in the early stages where no overpowered ninjas have appeared.

After school, Mokgetsu went directly to the Southern Border Forest.

When Mokgetsu arrived, Shisui was still training there.

Following Mokgetsu's advice, Shisui was now attending school via Shadow Clones, with his true self training alongside Mokgetsu's Shadow Clones.

Mokgetsu didn't wait long before Might Guy arrived.

But to Mokgetsu's surprise, even fifteen minutes later, Obito hadn't come.

Because he often walked a stretch with Rin, even though they were in the same class, Obito seldom set out together with Might Guy.

But being more than fifteen minutes late was also rare.

Mokgetsu felt it might be time for a little lecture; don't form a habit of being late for training too.

"Sorry, Teacher Mokgetsu, I'm late," Obito said, clutching a long box as he sprinted over to Mokgetsu.
