Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: The Reason I Must Take First Place

"Next, I must solve twenty-five problems every day for ten days straight to clear all the installments." On the way to the Southern Border Forest, Obito was calculating the load of exercises he was carrying.

"I'll never finish them, even if the holidays come..." Obito scratched his head, feeling a bit pressured.

It's not just about the old debts; he also gains new ones every day, which makes it hard to manage.

Obito felt like he would spend his whole life solving problems if things continued like this.

When Obito arrived, Mokgetsu called Might Guy and Obito together and said:

"Next week is the finals; I'm changing the cultivation plan."

"Changing the training plan? There's only a week left, isn't it unnecessary?" Obito was a bit nervous.

Last time, the change turned a battle from thirty-something problems to over a hundred, and Obito was truly scared.

"We will temporarily cancel Taijutsu combat and train individually," Mokgetsu explained the specific changes and then smiled at Obito.

"Are you sure there's no need to change?"

"I think it's very necessary," Obito answered seriously.

The battles were not important, nor the problems, but the fact that no new problems would be added without battles was crucial for him.

"Teacher Mokgetsu, your decision is truly magnificent, it's simply a divine touch, transcending ordinary strategies..." Obito used all his learning to flatter and ended up not knowing what he was saying.

"Your flattery is too exaggerated," Mokgetsu knocked Obito on the head.

"One more thing, although there's no combat now, you must finish the previously scheduled problems on time."

Obito covered the spot where he'd just been knocked, chuckling: "I guarantee to complete the task."

If getting knocked could reduce the number of problems, he'd rather get a head full of bumps than solve problems for so long.

"What do you think, Guy?" Mokgetsu asked.

Obito nervously looked at Might Guy, fearing he might say something unfavorable.

"I think it's great too!" Might Guy quickly replied, afraid Mokgetsu would misunderstand his intentions.

Might Guy didn't speak because Obito had already said it; who would like doing lots of problems anyway?

Obito sighed with relief and gave Might Guy a thumbs-up with a smile.

Might Guy nodded, also giving a bright smile and a thumbs-up.

They had reached a consensus.

"Train hard, everyone. This week, I won't interfere with you. Train however you want, leave whenever you wish," Mokgetsu said with a smile.

"That's so generous!" Obito felt as if Mokgetsu's body was glowing.

"Shisui, come over here," Mokgetsu called out to Shisui, who was training.

Shisui paused his training and walked over to Mokgetsu's side.

"After a month of intensive training, your body has strengthened significantly. You can begin the preliminary training for the new Instant Body Jutsu," Mokgetsu said.

This month, Shisui temporarily set aside other training to focus exclusively on physical training.

The massive training load had clear effects; Shisui's body became much stronger than before.

With system-related secret medicine to repair his body and release internal injuries, Mokgetsu was essentially pushing Shisui to challenge his limits daily.

With Shisui's talent in the Instant Body Jutsu, Mokgetsu felt it was time to pass on the Soru technique to him.

Hearing it was the Instant Body Jutsu Mokgetsu mentioned earlier, even Obito and Might Guy couldn't help but pay attention to Mokgetsu.

"Didn't you say you had to be first in practical skills in your grade to learn this?" Obito asked.

"Shisui received this as an earlier reward, and do you think Shisui can't achieve first place?" Mokgetsu laughed and replied.

Obito realized that even if he were among first years, he could dominate, let alone Shisui, who was even stronger.

With Shisui around, the outcome of the first-year practical exam was already decided, without any suspense.

Mokgetsu grabbed Shisui, and with a single Soru, appeared several meters away.

Obito watched the Soru move like teleportation, unable to stop himself from feeling envious.

If he could use such an Instant Body Jutsu, he'd look so cool.

Entering the classroom, others would see him just stepping through the door, but he'd instantly appear at his seat. If the teacher asked him to answer on the podium, he could vanish and reappear there in an instant, surprising the teacher.

Helping elderly people walk would also be faster, letting them experience moving like the wind.

"I must achieve first place in the practical exam, let Rin see how strong I've become, and make the annoying Kakashi stop underestimating me," Obito vowed to himself.

He'd been taunted by Kakashi many times, and this time he had to prove himself.

"Such speed, if I can master this Instant Body Jutsu, I might have a chance to defeat Kakashi!" Might Guy thought as he watched Mokgetsu disappear and reappear far away.

His speed was fast for Obito, but against Kakashi, it was lacking.

Might Guy felt if he learned this Instant Body Jutsu, he could catch Kakashi off guard with his speed. Even if he couldn't defeat him, he wouldn't be as embarrassed as last time.

"To defeat Kakashi, I must acquire this Instant Body Jutsu, and I must take first place in the practical exam!"

Might Guy was already pumped up, eager to skip this week, bypass the theory exam, and proceed straight to the practical exam.

Observing Obito and Might Guy with a sidelong glance, Mokgetsu nodded internally; this was precisely the result he wanted.

Sometimes setting specific training tasks is less effective than letting students use their initiative.

With the Instant Body Jutsu as bait, motivation was no issue.

Additionally, with the self-disciplined training fanatic Might Guy around, Mokgetsu wasn't worried that Obito would slack off without supervision.

Watching Might Guy train intensely, Obito knew he couldn't be at ease leaving.

"This Instant Body Jutsu is called Soru; the primary challenge lies in explosively strengthening the body with Chakra multiple times in a short period to achieve high-speed movement," Mokgetsu began to teach Shisui the Instant Body Jutsu.

In One Piece, Soru relies on quickly stomping the ground dozens of times, using the reactive force to move at high speed.

Back when he watched the anime, Mokgetsu found it quite exaggerated, but thinking it over, with the physique in the One Piece world, maybe it indeed works.

The system-modified Ninja World version of Soru is highly ninja-like; change the name, and Mokgetsu feels it's local Taijutsu.

The Ninja World version of Soru doesn't rely on reactive force from stomping but instead uses a special Chakra technique to enhance the legs repeatedly while quickly stomping, thus generating extreme speed.

It's evident that the core of the Ninja World version of Soru is the unique Chakra technique, which is very ninja.

"Multiple enhancements in a short time?" Shisui was a bit surprised; it was his first time hearing of such a technique.

No wonder Mokgetsu had him train his body for a month first. The Instant Body Jutsu he learned before only involved a single enhancement, and using it repetitively would lead to fatigue; this Soru technique sounded much more advanced than the previous Instant Body Jutsu.

He was looking forward to the upcoming training a lot; mastering this Instant Body Jutsu would greatly increase his speed.
