Fujino himself isn't considered a great duelist, which Youyu is aware of. Nominally, he is the head of the government department D Department responsible for dueling, but in reality, he mainly handles superficial affairs.
In simple terms, his usual work is just to show his face, negotiate with people at meetings, and shake hands. There's not much that requires him to personally get involved in dueling or fighting monsters; his subordinates handle any real danger that requires action.
But Youyu knows that the opponent he's facing now is not truly Fujino.
The one he is facing here is the "Light of Destruction" from the depths of the cosmos—a form residing within the body of the zero-number Kaiju "Thunder Kaiju Roaring Dragon King", which came to Earth in ancient times.
It's likely that the zero-number Kaiju, frozen in Antarctica, awakened, and the first host chosen by the Light of Destruction was Fujino, the head of the D Department.
Youyu can only assume that this guy might be stronger than Saiou.
Fortunately, the random result of the Duel Disc seems to favor the opponent's first move. If Fujino's deck is still the "Kaiju" deck—as is very likely—then the first move is rather uncomfortable.
The speciality of Kaijus is devouring any monster on the opponent's field. But conversely, if the opponent has no monsters on the field, the Kaiju series can easily be stuck in the hand unable to play.
"I have the first move, draw." Without hesitation, Fujino revealed a card, "Field Magic 'Kyoutou Waterfront' activate!"
The field shook, an endless blue sea stretched out, buildings rose up, and the bustling Tokyo Bay spread across the entire field.
"I summon 'Sangan' in attack mode!"

"Next I activate the Magic Card 'Tribute Doll'!" Fujino said, "Offer one monster on my field as a tribute to Special Summon a Level 7 monster from my hand!

—Radian, the Multidimensional Kaiju, Summon!!!"
Sangan vanished as a tribute from the field, followed by a dimensional distortion. A dark figure emerged, overlapping numerous shadows at the same spatial coordinates.
The humanoid Kaiju crashed between the buildings of the Kyoto Tower Region, its crimson eyes seemingly piercing through people.

"Sangan's effect, when sent to the graveyard, adds a monster with 1500 or less attack from the deck to the hand." Fujino pulled a card from the deck that popped out, "I add the monster 'Dark Mimic LV3' with 1000 attack from the deck to my hand."
After retrieving the card, he immediately revealed another card from his hand.
"The Magic Card 'Allure of Darkness' activates. Draw two cards from the deck, but then must banish one Dark Attribute monster from the game.
If no Dark Attribute monster is there to banish, your entire hand must be sent to the graveyard."
He drew two cards and showed the monster card he just retrieved.
"I banish 'Dark Mimic LV3' from the game!" Fujino's card turned into golden light points and dissipated, and he then pointed to the bustling seaside city.
"Kyoutou Waterfront's effect! Each time a card on both fields is sent to the graveyard, it gains a 'Kaiju Counter'!
So far this turn, 'Sangan', 'Tribute Doll', 'Allure of Darkness' have entered the graveyard, so there are three Kaiju Counters!"
Indeed, the top of the towering tower in the city center lit up with three golden lights, standing out like a lighthouse in the jungle of steel and concrete.

Once more, a Kaiju card was retrieved, and the deck automatically shuffled with a "sh sh sh" sound.
"Next is 'Radian, the Multidimensional Kaiju's effect!' Fujino said, "Once per turn, Radian can remove two Kaiju Counters to summon a clone of itself!

The body of Radian began to tremble more violently, a shadow split off from its body, transforming into another Radian not far away, indistinguishable from the original.

"I set one Set Card on the field, end turn." Fujino continued with a "Light of Destruction" grin, "Alright, it's your turn!"

Kaijus have an almost unbeatable board-clearing ability, with each monster being easy to summon, high in power, and strong in effect.
Unlike Orichalcos or Sin decks that become unusable once the field is cleared, Kaiju series don't rely as heavily on their field. Although losing Kaiju Counters limits their abilities, they can still devour the opponent's large monsters, and their high attack powers allow them to appear almost unconditionally.
Moreover, Kaijus can activate their effects as long as they have Kaiju Counters, and the Kaiju deck doesn't rely solely on Kyoutou for placing counters. Plus, 'Kyoutou Waterfront' can replace destruction by removing a Kaiju Counter, making it hard to target.
So against a Kaiju deck, you must attack quickly and fiercely.
"Activating Magic Card 'Graceful Charity' from the hand, draw three cards from the deck, discard two to the graveyard.
Next, Magic Card 'E-Emergency Call', adds an 'Elemental Hero' from the deck to the hand."
Youyu drew a card that popped out of the deck.
"I add 'Elemental Hero Airman' to my hand."
"Then I summon 'Elemental Hero Blazeman'."

Youyu drew the card that was retrieved, and immediately revealed another card from his hand.
"Magic Card 'Hero's Bond'. When a 'Hero' monster is on the field, Special Summon two Level 4 or lower 'Elemental Heroes' from the hand."
Youyu laid down two Monster Cards at once.
"Elemental Hero Airman, Elemental Hero Shadow Mist!"

Seeing Youyu summoning three Heroes at once, and cards "sh sh" popping out of the deck, Fujino couldn't help but snort.
"Oh, coming at me all fired up, are you?" He licked his lips with a cold smile, "Well, bring it on, Duel King!
If you don't give it your all, you won't understand what true despair is!"
