Chapter 607 - Chapter 576: Evil God Isn't Half Bad Either

The damp, death-laden mist spread throughout the valley, as darkness unscrupulously surged forward. Undead spirits roamed this enclosed space, occasionally emitting eerie shrieks.

Field Magic, Zombie World!

"Now the field is dominated by the realm of the undead," Bakura said with a steady voice, "All Monsters on both sides, existing on the field or in the graveyard, will become Undead-Type."

Youyu pondered for a brief moment, thinking quickly.

Zombie World is indeed a quite powerful Field Magic, but even if it applied here to change the field of all Monsters on both sides, it wouldn't stop Youyu's Heroes from launching a decisive assault.

Bakura naturally wouldn't be unaware of that either, so it's likely he still has countermeasures left in his Set Cards.

That said, Youyu currently had no Wind nor other means to clear traps at hand, so the battle was inevitable; he couldn't just watch as the chance for an attack passed by.

"Battle," Youyu declared, "Elemental Hero The Shining, direct attack!"

The Shining's golden light surged behind him, lifting him lightly into the air, trailing a radiant white trajectory, akin to a dazzling missile slicing through the sky, diving directly toward Bakura!

Bakura's lips curled into a cold smile.

"Heh, not so easy," he waved his hand, "Activate Set Card, Trap Card 'Haunted Shrine'!"

The field transformed again. The shadow of Zombie World shrouded the area; heavy darkness spontaneously stirred into a vortex shape, and on one side of the cliff appeared a deep cave entrance—a stream of white specters flew consecutively from within, the chilling wind flowed through the valley, carrying sounds akin to the laughter of phantoms.

"'Haunted Shrine', this Trap can only be activated when there are no Monsters on one's field, allowing Special Summon of Undead-Type Monsters from one's graveyard," Bakura chuckled coldly.

"Undead-Type Monsters?" Youyu quickly connected the dots, his gaze swept across the maleficent field.

"Yes!" Bakura sneered, "Within the realm of 'Zombie World', all Monsters in my graveyard turn into Undead-Type.

In other words, I can resurrect the Monsters slumbering in the graveyard! And the one I'm summoning now... is this guy!"

Bakura roared, raising his arm high, summoning a gigantic stone tablet into the air.

Even before the divine beast he summoned descended, boundless darkness erupted from that stone tablet! Instantly, the sky was painted in black ink color, turning the entire valley pitch black. The sky seemed to descend, the billowing dark clouds appeared to heavy press upon everyone's heads.

A scythe tore through the darkness, an immense divine beast soared upward! It was a monstrously grim black creature, its blood-red eyes twistedly reflecting the whole world, as though everything was mere fodder in its domain.

The Wicked Eraser!

The Wicked Eraser's attack power is based on the number of cards on the opponent's field. Currently, Youyu's field has Elemental Hero The Shining and Elemental Hero Airman, so the Eraser's attack power is merely 2000, apparently not a match for The Shining.

However...

"The Wicked Eraser's effect!" Bakura pointed to the rolling beast in the sky, "This card sacrifices itself to trigger its effect!

Upon leaving the field, it sends all cards on the field to the graveyard!"

The Eraser lifted its head high, its hideous body self-destructing on the spot.

Darkness released like burning lava, indiscriminately melting everything it touched. The sacred glow surrounding the Elemental Hero was snuffed out by darkness, The Shining resisted valiantly but still succumbed to the void.

The entire field seemed purified, left empty and barren.

"Elemental Hero The Shining's effect. When sent to the graveyard, I can return up to two Elemental Heroes banished from the game to the hand."

Youyu revealed two cards.

"I return 'Elemental Hero Absolute Zero' and 'Elemental Hero Sparkman' to the hand. Of course, Absolute Zero is a Fusion Monster, so it returns directly to the Deck."

He drew two more cards from his hand.

"Set two cards, turn ends."

The Egyptian generals and soldiers witnessing the scene were already terrified, the oppressive presence of the Wicked God leaving them breathless, the Eraser's all-consuming darkness almost caused them to follow their instincts and flee.

The players, though awe-struck by the spectacle of the Wicked God's arrival, were not particularly scared, accustomed to grand scenes. Instead, they were blabbering about the practicality and performance of the Wicked God.

"No way, this thing can't be Special Summoned!"

"The Winged Dragon of Ra in the physical card can't be Special Summoned either, why haven't you complained about it?"

"A quick-play (able to activate during the opponent's turn) field-clear effect, sounds kind of powerful!"

"It's alright, Wicked God is still okay."

"..."

Wicked God is still okay?

Bakura was pleased with the superstitious Egyptians' terrified reactions, but he was very dissatisfied with the attitude of these reckless players.

That is a Wicked God! A Wicked God!

Though not as grand as my Sok, it's still a Wicked God at least!

Could you please show the appropriate fear?

Of course, it was merely a fleeting thought. Faced against Youyu, Bakura didn't dare to be complacent even a bit.

Last time Bakura went to the Royal Palace to confront Yugi, he confirmed that the Three Egyptian God cards should indeed be in Yugi's possession. When he sent six-year-old as cannon fodder momentarily earlier, the Winged Dragon briefly appeared in the sky, now likely still with Yugi.

Technically, Egyptian God's Cards are supposed to be unique, no duplicates should exist. Since Yugi just used the Divine Card, Youyu shouldn't possibly have it either.

However...

Bakura glanced secretly at Youyu, feeling some unease in his heart.

Youyu: "?"

If we're dueling, then let's duel, stop peeking at me you big Wicked God! Jealous of my good looks?

"I still need to probe further," Bakura thought to himself.

"My turn, draw!" Bakura said, "Magic Card 'Pot of Greed', draw two more cards."

Again, two stone tablets descended from above. Bakura glanced at the cards drawn—or more precisely, the stone tablets—and the corner of his lips curled.

"Hey, seems even the Wicked God wants you to perish quickly."

Youyu narrowed his eyes.

Could it be, he already drew another Wicked God?

"The Trap Card 'Haunted Shrine' in the graveyard, its other effect activates!" Bakura said, "Banish this card from the game to Special Summon Undead-Type Monsters from the graveyard, effects negated!

Resurrect, Necroface!"

Transparent apparitions floated from the depths of the dark fog, gently landing on the field, swiftly morphing into eerie white faces with crimson tendrils swaying incessantly.

[Necroface, Attack Power 1200]

"Next, I activate the effect of 'Skull Conductor' from my hand," Bakura said, "Discard 'Skull Conductor' to the graveyard, I can Special Summon up to two Undead-Type Monsters from my hand whose combined attack power doesn't exceed 2000."

He pointed to the stone tablet before him, it flipped, briefly revealing the image of a zombie conductor in uniform, and then the stone tablet vanished into thin air.

"I Special Summon from my hand 'Poison Mummy', 'Reborn Zombie'!"

The red mummy staggered onto the field with wobbly steps, its wrappings soaked in dried blood; the zombie, a skeletal figure with pale hair cascading, its hollow eye sockets resembling abyssal voids.

[Poison Mummy, Attack Power 1000]

[Reborn Zombie, Attack Power 1000]

Youyu's gaze swept over the two grim undead: "Monsters have gathered to three..."

Anyone could guess what Bakura was about to do next.

"Indeed, behold, the second Wicked God, equal in stature to the Egyptian God 'Obelisk'!" He pointed to the stone tablet in his hand, raising his arm high.

"I offer 'Poison Mummy', 'Reborn Zombie', 'Necroface', as sacrifices to sinister darkness!

The embodiment of ultimate fear, the shivering god—

——The Wicked Dreadroot!!!
