Chapter 474 - Chapter 450: Can't Take It Anymore!

The King of Destruction Anubis, whose origins are unknown, is said to exist solely to turn the Pharaoh into the Void.

In other words, he is Yugi's natural mortal enemy.

At this moment, his tomb has just been excavated, and his body is still sealed in the Jackal Coffin. On the surface, it seems that way, but in fact, he can already move freely to some extent.

From the moment the archaeological team broke through the rock layers and the tomb saw the light of day again, Anubis's consciousness had awakened.

In the original work of the animation "Pyramid of Light," Anubis did not need a physical body to act. In fact, in the animation, even when his body was still a mummy, he had already begun his machinations.

For instance, taking advantage of Pegasus's deep slumber at night to sneak into his bedroom, discreetly leaving the evil-powered card "Pyramid of Light" with him, and then slipping away without a trace.

For example, constantly giving Seto Kaiba mental hints to heighten his desire to defeat Yugi, driving Kaiba to Pegasus to snatch the "Pyramid of Light," using that evil power to defeat Yugi.

Arranging for Kaiba to duel Yugi wasn't a difficult task — after all, even if left to its own devices, Kaiba would naturally seek out Yugi for a duel when he couldn't resist his card addiction.

But the difficulty lay in slipping the "Pyramid of Light" into Kaiba's Card Deck while making him believe that he was acting of his own free will.

That would prove somewhat challenging.

Although Anubis's physical body was still in the tomb, residing in his own mummy — the form encased within the coffin. Yet, in his mind, he was already strategizing how he would playfully annihilate those two ancient kings once he was free.

...Of course, first, he had to get out of here.

Even though, like in the animation, Anubis could move without a body, in a form resembling a soul, he couldn't stray too far from his physical form.

Now awakened, he senses the Pharaoh's presence, but the distance between them is too vast. He must first find a way to move closer to the Pharaoh.

A little more than an hour ago, Anubis's soul temporarily left the tomb, influencing some influential and powerful individuals in the relevant department, compelling them to decide to "transport the newly unearthed coffin to Domino's museum for exhibition."

When the coffin is transported to Domino, close enough to Yugi and Kaiba, Anubis can formally commence his plan of destruction!

He waited patiently in the pitch-dark tomb, waiting... waiting so long that even a mummy would feel withered.

He couldn't help feeling a bit disgruntled.

Are humans of this era really that inefficient in their affairs?

Weren't they supposed to have decided to transfer me to the Pharaoh's vicinity? Why is it taking so long without any action?

Clearly, the King of Destruction Anubis from three thousand years ago did not quite comprehend how "bureaucracy" functions. There were countless procedures to go through after a decision was made; it probably wouldn't happen in just a day or two...

...However, unfortunately for him, he might not even get to embark on that journey.

Sounds echoed in the darkness. The rustling of footsteps and some voices conversing.

Anubis's spirits were lifted.

Finally, have they come?

He thought those who were supposed to transport him to the Pharaoh had finally arrived.

But as soon as these people came in, he realized something seemed off.

These people were chattering nonstop, their faces full of excitement, without an ounce of tension that should come with entering someone's tomb, looking like elementary students on a field trip.

One among them even wore an animal head-shaped cap on his head. This left Anubis puzzled — is this a peculiar dressing custom of humans three thousand years later?

However, he chose to remain hidden for the moment, observing the situation without revealing his presence.

"This place is really so huge!" A man wearing some strange decorative items over his eyes exclaimed — Anubis had never seen "glasses" before.

Anubis speculated that the leading man was the leader among them because the rest seemed to be awaiting his instructions.

Moreover, the feel this leader gave Anubis was different. He could sense a potent force hidden within this man, a certain distinct aura that made him akin to a ruler of the era.

In Anubis's imagination, such a king, even though not necessarily possessing a vast territory or countless treasures like the Pharaoh of old, should at least be a dominant figure with his domain and subjects.

What purpose did such an individual have visiting his tomb?

Anubis felt a sense of suspicion.

Could it be... that he had noticed my presence and came to hunt me down?

Anubis decided to observe further.

However, he quickly realized this might be one of the worst decisions he ever made.

Those following men suddenly dispersed, much like hounds on a hunt for prey.

They began rummaging through the tomb, their search accompanied by a series of clattering noises as things were tossed onto the stone floor.

He watched as a round-faced man scurried over: "Youyu-san, does this have any use?"

He was holding a pure gold goblet, possibly related to the ancient art of Alchemy, still dazzling with brilliance after three millennia.

Then the leader waved his hand: "Yes, take it."

"Sure!"

After a while, the person with the peculiar animal headgear came over as well: "Youyu-san! How about this?"

In his hands was a heavy sword, its scabbard wrapped in numerous chains. The craftsmanship was exceptionally exquisite, exuding an extraordinary aura even unsheathed; it was clearly no ordinary item.

The leader nodded again: "Take it."

Then came a hopping and lively girl — though with such a flat chest that from afar, her silhouette could be mistaken for a boy's.

"Youyu-san! Look at this! There's really a Duel Disc!" The girl exclaimed with surprise, holding up a gold-shining object.

Though its design varied greatly from modern Duel Discs, its shape unmistakably indicated it was an ancient Duel Disc.

The leader continued to nod subtly: "Take it, take everything."

At this moment, Anubis, hiding beneath the coffin lid, felt the mummy's forehead burst with a series of "hash" marks.

...What's with humans three thousand years later!?

Wasn't that person supposed to be a proud and honorable sovereign?

What the heck is going on with them raiding my tomb upon arrival?

Even though this undoubtedly disrupts his entire subsequent plan, Anubis felt he couldn't stand it any longer.

If he continued to tolerate this, these lunatics would empty out his entire tomb!

To personally sit in the front row watching a bunch of lunatics dig up his grave, it was utterly unbearable!

"Bang!"

A muffled sound echoed, accompanied by the sound of chains being snapped by a formidable force. The Jackal Coffin standing against the wall had its lid blasted open from within by a bursting power...
