Humans and Fantastic Beasts coexist in harmony.
Even Ian, as a Legendary Wizard, couldn't help but feel amazed by the apparent impossibility.
"What do you mean by 'impossible'? And... what is 'science'?" Xiao Ya was puzzled by Ian's remark, even though Ian was using their language, some phrases were completely unfamiliar to her.
Thus, she couldn't help but curiously ask.
"Uh... it's nothing."
Ian waved his hand, not having any grand ambition to popularize science in Ancient Times. While observing his surroundings, his mind couldn't help but grow more perplexed.
The more he thought about it, the more bewildered he became. What possible state of mind did the Titan driven away by the Titan Race have to create such a small world?
Looking at the bustling crowd and the colorful buildings.
Ian could sense the prosperity and joy of this tribe. Although he himself had no great power, the level of living and spiritual outlook here were far better than those of the Zeus Race in the outside world.
"Come over here, take a look at our beautiful clothes." Xiao Ya could be considered a competent free tour guide, very warm towards Ian, the mysterious foreign visitor.
There was no sense of defensiveness.
The pair walked into an inn called "Tide House," where the sign was engraved with an image of an owl with a feathered tail—said to be the island's most common Patronus, "Night Feather."
The inn was cozy, with hand-woven tapestries hanging on the walls, a wooden long table in the corner where several travelers were gathered, sharing hot meals.
"Welcome to Tide House!"
The innkeeper was an elderly man with a white beard, a flower growing on his head, wearing a robe printed with wave patterns, his gaze immediately falling on Xiao Ya and Ian.
The elder smiled with eyes shaped like crescent moons.
"Isn't it Xiao Ya? Out searching for partners again today?" He seemed to know every person in town and also understood what Xiao Ya went outside to do every day.
"Yeah, yeah, even though I haven't found a partner of my own, I've met a new friend." Xiao Ya introduced Ian to the shop owner.
"He's a powerful Trainer who can merge with his partner." Remarkably, she directly copied the title, once again causing Ian to marvel at that mysterious Titan.
"A Trainer who can master unity? What an impressive accomplishment!" The shop owner was clearly surprised, scrutinizing Ian with a discerning eye.
"Are you an adventurer from another island?"
The shopkeeper was guessing Ian's identity, meanwhile also sharing information with him, suggesting that perhaps there were multiple islands in the core area of this storm.
"Yes."
Ian decisively confirmed.
After all, explaining his identity was too complex, the best way to live in a place was to integrate with the locals rather than challenge their culture and customs.
"Fella, are you here for that, too?" The innkeeper suddenly lowered his voice, looking around, still plenty of people in the shop seemingly traveling.
Ian was studying a dancing wooden puppet on the counter, no Magic Rune upon it, just natural Magic Power, he raised his head curiously at the words.
"What?"
The flower on the old storekeeper's head mysteriously trembled, suddenly sprouted some vines, which pulled out a weathered leather ledger from under the counter. Opening a page, with scribbled runes illustrating a Phoenix-like creature surrounded by thunder and flame patterns.
"It was seen by a Medicine Gatherer in the Baofeng Mountain Range last month."
The old Bulbasaur's tendrils lightly tapped the design, "Its feathers flow with Molten Gold, leaving Crystal Flowers blooming in its trail. It's a Legendary Fantastic Beast that protects our island, recently becoming active again."
He looked meaningfully at Ian, "Recently, quite a few foreigners like you have been inquiring about the Legendary Elf. Everyone believes that basking in its glory can prolong life."
Is there really a Fantastic Beast capable of affecting others?
Ian was very surprised.
"Does it truly prolong life?"
He'd encountered such Fantastic Beasts before. Phoenix tears could heal wounds, and Unicorn manure and some secretions had wondrous effects.
Could today's Phoenix be related to tomorrow's Phoenix?
Ian did not know.
But his curiosity was becoming more intense.
"It's more than just prolonging life! Let me tell you, the Phoenix God is truly marvelous." The shopkeeper suddenly became excited, shooting a few grains of pollen from the flower bud atop his head.
"My grandfather's grandfather encountered it when young, lived more than two hundred years! His hair turned back to black before passing, a sign of good health, truly dying of old age." He suddenly lowered his voice, "And the blacksmith down east of town—his ancestor drank from the spring where the Legendary Elf resides."
"Now the whole family possesses the ability to control things with their minds." The innkeeper spoke with theatrical flair, leaving Ian utterly befuddled. Does awakening magic happen for some reason?
Before he could make sense of it.
"May you, the unified young lad, have a safe journey. Should you truly meet that presence, it would be a great blessing! This life is sure to be extraordinary."
