"There's not much time left, let's go."
He maintained his elegant manners.
The Night Watcher glanced at him, and he returned a gentle smile.
"Follow us."
A few Night Watchers surrounded Riddle and led him out, shrugging his shoulders, Riddle followed this group of Night Watchers through narrow streets to a hidden building. At the entrance stood several guards in red armor, they were not Wizards, but their longswords caught Riddle's attention for a while.
"Not bad technique."
He commented.
Led by the Night Watchers, he entered the house. Inside, he found it exceptionally luxurious, different from any place he'd seen in this era.
"What a luxurious experience."
Riddle saw a petite woman sitting at the center, wearing a silver mask that revealed only her cold, sharp eyes.
After bringing Riddle into this room, the other Night Watchers left.
"Being from a different era, what is your purpose here?" The leader opened directly to the point, her pointed description made Riddle's eyes slightly narrow.
"What do you mean by that? I don't understand." Riddle's face remained calm, showing a slightly puzzled, perfectly timed expression of confusion.
His acting was indeed good.
However.
The leader sneered directly, "Stop pretending, since the moment you stepped into this city, I've felt your broken and dark soul."
She was evidently a powerful Wizard as well.
"I'm just someone who desires to stay alive."
Riddle's expression did not change, his gaze sincere.
"I don't care about your background, nor your past... I only want to know if the city's unusual disaster is related to you." The female leader stood up.
"What disaster?"
Riddle was truly puzzled for a moment.
"In front of me, you can't hide anything." The female leader stepped forward, raised her hand, intending to perform Legilimency on Riddle.
Of course, Riddle would not consent to such an action.
"I absolutely won't allow anyone to probe my secrets." At first, Riddle appeared compliant, but as the female leader approached, he swiftly drew his Magic Wand from his sleeve.
"Imperio!"
Riddle wanted to use the Imperio Spell to control the leader of the city's law enforcement.
His plan and performance were very good.
However.
Despite loudly chanting the Spell with great momentum, not even a trace of light appeared on his Magic Wand, making Riddle's pupils shrink in disbelief.
"What a clumsy Dark Wizard you are."
The Night Watcher leader felt no surprise, her expression remained calm, she glanced at Riddle's Magic Wand, dismissively evaluating his casting technique.
"What is happening!"
Riddle backed away quickly.
"Damn it! How can such a thing exist!"
He looked around, his gaze fixed on the four stones in the room's corner.
"Seems you're not the clumsiest of the lot." The female leader observed Riddle's actions, knowing he realized the room did not allow the use of Magic.
"If I say earlier was a misunderstanding, just to lighten the mood, would you believe me?" Riddle swallowed, ready to run at any moment.
He was indeed the Black Demon King.
But when it came to hand-to-hand combat, he was not very confident.
Seeing the female leader getting closer.
Riddle's forehead began to perspire, he cleverly planned to bluff. Just then, suddenly, the surrounding space and time began to distort, and Riddle watched everything with shock.
He found himself pulled by a powerful force into an unknown realm. When he opened his eyes again, he was in a dark Divine Hall.
"What is this situation again?"
Sixteen-year-old Riddle lacked the most in understanding and knowledge of Magic, otherwise, he wouldn't have realized there was a room with a Forbidden Magic Domain in this world.
The young, inexperienced Black Demon King cautiously looked around, only to see a black-robed man standing with his back to him in the center of the Divine Hall. He raised his hand without hesitation to cast Magic at the black-robed man.
"Avada Kedavra!"
Still his signature move. However, to Riddle's shock, the Killing Curse burst into fireworks upon contact with the black-robed man, having no effect.
The black-robed man remained standing there with his back to him.
"Impossible! The Killing Curse can't fail after it hits!"
Riddle received his second cognitive shock today.
He exclaimed.
At this moment, the black-robed man began to slowly turn around.
"The Killing Curse indeed can't fail, but you cannot kill someone who is already dead." The face hidden under the shadow of the black robe emitted a hoarse voice.
"Who are you!"
Riddle's Magic Wand glowed again.
But the next moment.
His Magic abruptly halted during the brewing phase.
"I am like you... a Wizard unwilling to succumb to death."
The black-robed man revealed his hood.
"Apprentice of the future, I am your mentor."
He showed a snake-like face that left Riddle doubtful and uncertain.
"I am Helbo, the one who defeated death... the Angel."
The black-robed man's visage.
Entered into Riddle's eyes.
Like some kind of mark.
