Chapter 426 - Chapter 116: Cloak 3

"How does he convey orders then?"

"Via email."

Snape took a deep breath: "Tell me everything you know... Like who's the mastermind behind this island?"

The bespectacled man blinked, bewildered for a moment, before saying, "Naturally, it's Zick."

"Tell me about this Zick..."

Before Snape could finish his sentence, he suddenly frowned and looked behind him.

Something was flying towards him, breaking through the air — an...invisible cloak?

During flight, the Disillusionment Charm's effects weren't very noticeable. Snape could clearly see the cloak's outline and even recognized it by size as the one Vid had just worn.

Snape was momentarily stunned. As the cloak flew directly at him, he didn't know whether to dodge or catch it, and in a moment of hesitation, it draped over him.

The cloak moved swiftly, wrapping Snape in an almost embracing posture.

Due to its length, Snape's upper body became faintly visible, while his lower legs remained exposed, giving a somewhat eerie appearance.

The bespectacled man, controlled by Veritaserum, was unaffected; he blinked and began to answer questions.

"Zick... Zick is a high-ranking confidant, rumored to have offended the wizards in the organization, which is why he was sent here... He doesn't understand technology at all, and he's capricious, but he's generous with money..."

Snape tried in vain to pull off the cloak, only managed to rip the hood from his face, but his ears keenly caught crucial information —

"Wizards in the organization? Your organization has wizards?"

"Of course! They are..."

"Bang! Bang!"

Before the bespectacled man could continue, a bullet pierced through his brow.

He fell straight back, hitting the wall with a thud, his glasses slipping off, mouth agape, as blood trickled down from his nostrils.

Another bullet shot towards Snape's forehead, but was blocked by the cloak hood he quickly lifted.

Snape staggered back two steps, quickly twirled his magic wand, casting a complete Disillusionment Charm on himself, hiding along with the cloak.

It was only now he realized what had just happened.

The invisible wizard silently left the original spot, moving to the corner of another wall, then saw a group of fully armed soldiers protecting a man and a woman, quickly approaching.

"Who was that guy talking to?" The ponytailed man furiously said: "To whom did he disclose the secrets?"

Two soldiers swiftly and cautiously jogged to the bespectacled man's corpse, inspected briefly, and fired shots into the surrounding open space, shattering glass and light bulbs.

"Report, no one."

"He must have escaped." The woman in red frowned and said, "Apton is the traitor?"

"He definitely is! Didn't you see him just making contact with someone?"

Ponytail man Zick, furious yet slightly relieved, hastily displaced the responsibility for the base's fall.

"No wonder our extensive anti-wizard measures were breached, they infiltrated and wreaked havoc — it's because a traitor leaked our defensive arrangement and brought in external enemies!"

Veronica in red nodded without endorsing, frowning: "Apton is here, then... the organs needed over there..."

"Forget about those!" Zick decisively said: "The magnetic field is compromised, we need to escape now. Relay the order to the research lab people to hurry up, I'll wait for them no more than five minutes!"

The group hurriedly ran upstairs, someone relaying orders via earpiece.

Snape silently watched, waiting for them to run out of the corridor before drifting up to follow them.

He had once learned flying techniques from Voldemort, allowing him to fly without a flying broomstick.

The group left the corridor, restoring the surroundings to complete silence.

Soon after, Firebolt swiftly carried Vid and Mabel, flying by.
