Chapter 409 - Chapter 108: Peregrine Falcon and Owl_3

The old headmaster pondered for a long time among sharks, sea serpents, peregrine falcons, peacocks, wild horses, cats, and scorpions, and finally thought that peregrine falcons were the most likely.

As it turned out, just as he had guessed, this secret delight filled Dumbledore's heart.

The figures of the two birds gradually grew smaller, blending into the high and distant clouds.

Dumbledore stood at the edge of the cliff, his deep crimson cloak flapping loudly in the sea breeze. Some seagulls flew nearby, emitting high-pitched, resonant cries.

...

The feeling of flying over the ocean was quite peculiar.

The view seemed infinitely vast, yet the sea and sky merged together, and even when there were shifting low clouds around him, there was still a sense of disorientation.

Vid didn't know if it was because of his human thoughts or if all peregrine falcons felt this way.

But the owl seemed as if it had a satellite map in its mind, flying firmly in a specific direction, as if there was a string pulling it that way.

Vid followed right behind it, and on the seemingly endless sea, this magical bird always found places to rest, sometimes a tiny island, a human cruise ship, or even a whale floating on the sea's surface.

They flew intermittently like this, with Vid carrying plenty of food in his pocket, and magic could summon fresh water, so both man and bird maintained their stamina well.

Until a not-so-small island appeared at the edge of their vision.

The owl stopped from a great distance, landing on a green ocean buoy, using its whole body to indicate that this was the place Vid was looking for.

But when Vid tried to get closer for a look, it spread its wings in front of him, uttering a loud, intimidating cry.

Vid guessed, "Can't get close? Is there danger?"

The owl let out a solemn call, its eyes revealing a familiar fear.

So Vid didn't get any closer. He transformed back into his human form and first made the buoy as big as a small boat, enough for them to rest on, then took out his magic telescope to observe carefully.

From the outside, it looked like an ordinary, developed island.

Clean beaches, dense forests, a few fishing boats docked at the pier, and a lighthouse standing on the cliff.

A road wide enough for two cars to pass side by side wound into the dense forest, leading to an unclear destination. But from the sky, Vid saw a cluster of luminescent white buildings deep within the island.

However, as far as the eye could see, he didn't spot a single person, but did find several surveillance cameras.

Vid pulled a quill out of his pocket and snapped it forcefully.

In the next second, with a sound like firecrackers exploding, Dumbledore appeared by his side.

"Found it?" the headmaster said cheerfully, "Quicker than I thought."

"We've arrived, it's the island ahead," Vid said. "The owl prevented me from approaching; maybe they have some long-range weapons..."

"Buzz————"

Vid hadn't finished speaking when a strange buzzing sound came from the island.

The sound waves spread in circles, and by the time they reached the buoy, they were quite faint.

But both their expressions subtly changed.

"Do you feel it, Vid?" Dumbledore asked, his hair seemingly floating slightly in the air.

"Yes."

Vid responded, looking down at his palm, his fingers curling slightly before stretching open.

He had a vague tingling sensation—his body's magic power felt like faint electric currents, causing mild numbness and stinging, his muscles contracted and trembled.

Very subtle, so subtle it was hard to detect.

So what were the people on the island feeling at this moment?
