He drew and glanced down at the card.
He actually felt a slight twinge of regret.
Of the cards he had Set, besides Mirror Force, the other one was the Trap Card, Favorite Contact.
Because this is a tag duel, Hikari' definitely saw that card too. Fusion Summoning Midrash was clearly meant to preserve the Fusion Materials.
In the end, Darkness still dealt with Midrash.

Darkness quietly tapped his Set Zone, checked his two Set Cards, then didn't move.

That single motion startled quite a few of the onlookers; they thought he was about to make some huge play.
Only when they saw he was just checking his Set Cards did they finally breathe out.
Can't be helped; the Set Cards Darkness uses are always terrifying.
Judai's heart was pounding too, but as long as he could use Monster Effects, he felt it'd be fine. So he quickly sent a Monster from his Deck to the Graveyard: "I send Shadow Mist from my Deck to the Graveyard."
On the field, the Demon Hero dripping with blood twisted into a vicious grin, and its figure grew hazy.
"Next, Shadow Mist's effect: once per turn, if this card is sent to the Graveyard, I can activate it. I add 1 Hero Monster other than 'Elemental Hero Shadow Mist' from my Deck to my Hand.
I add Evil Hero Toxic Bubble to my Hand."
"I flip my Set Card!" Judai revealed the card he'd Set on his first turn. "Trap Card, Favorite Contact!"
"From my Hand, field, Graveyard, and banished zone, I return the Fusion Material Monsters listed for a Fusion Monster to the bottom of the Deck in any order I like, then Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster that uses 'Hero' Monsters as Fusion Materials from my Extra Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions. If this effect returns Elemental Hero Neos to the Deck, neither player can return the Monster Special Summoned by this effect to the Deck."
Judai picked up Dead-End Prison from his field and took Neos from the banished zone. "The Fusion Conditions are an Effect Monster on the field and Neos."
His eyes began to gleam with golden light. Neos leapt onto the field, and black Armor began to cover his body.
"Justice is the protection of all the weak—"
"Now I embody the Power of Darkness within my heart!"
"Special Summon, LV 10, Evil Hero Neos Lord!"
The mighty Hero made a dazzling entrance!
