During the duel between Judai and Yubel, Tenjo Hikari was deeply engrossed in his research.
On one hand, he needed to find solutions for all current difficult diseases, and on the other hand, the large number of cards obtained from the darkness faction were all usable materials.
At present, Tenjo Hikari had virtually no flaws in card research, and the only thing that could hinder his performance was the "Pendulum" card.
At least, as for Pendulum cards, Tenjo Hikari genuinely could not craft them.
Although he had gathered abundant data from Akaba Leo, his expertise lay elsewhere. Tenjo Hikari, though quite proficient in Alchemy, wasn't as advanced in the scientific domain.
ZONE only provided him with information on darkness—because it was more crucial, ZONE didn't have time to analyze Pendulum cards, so Tenjo Hikari was also in the dark on this front.
Of course, even if he couldn't create Pendulum cards, the multitude of cards from darkness was enough for Tenjo Hikari to attempt crafting various kinds of cards.
For instance—Super Polymerization.
After the duel with The Supreme King, Tenjo Hikari considered how best to use his knowledge and skills to create Super Polymerization from the start.
Despite having a plethora of cards filled with darkness power from darkness for experimentation, replicating, or rather, "grasping" the true power of Super Polymerization was no simple task.
Fortunately, after several attempts, even though Tenjo Hikari failed, he did manage to identify a few possibilities.
The first was to reproduce Super Polymerization using "Fusion Monsters."
Much like reviving and awakening Tierra by combining Infernoid and Qliphort, the process itself is an "idea" and "symbol."
Similarly, using Fusion Monsters to reproduce Super Polymerization is a similar technique.
This was a method Tenjo Hikari deduced by studying Professor Seraph's "Demon Summoning" and analyzing his "Apocalypse Diary."
By creating twelve different systems of Fusion Monsters from LV 1 to LV 12 and then using a specific method for "reverse" Super Polymerization, it was possible to create a second, controllable "Super Polymerization."
That's right, controllable Super Polymerization!
Recently, however, there was a bit of an unexpected development.
Tenjo Hikari discovered that even though he had begun to gradually control the power of Super Polymerization, by using some additional support cards during a duel, he was slowly losing grip on this state.
This wasn't evident, and clearly wasn't because he had "grown weaker"—on the contrary, Tenjo Hikari's own Spirit Power had actually leveled up, nearly touching the limits of humanity.
Given his own increase in strength, control over Super Polymerization should have become easier, but it paradoxically became harder, which was a simple indicator of its internal significance.
After defeating The Supreme King, the Super Polymerization card in his possession began to gradually grow stronger.
Or rather.
The "help" Tenjo Hikari gained from the concept of "Polymerization" was getting stronger.
Tierra speculated that this might be akin to the gods in the S Dimension vying for the "Synchro" concept, as Tenjo Hikari, who possessed Super Polymerization, was also a "Super Polymerization Envoy." However, unlike Synchro owners who have their own consciousness, Super Polymerization itself lacked consciousness.
Or perhaps, Tenjo Hikari and The Supreme King were equivalent to the "Earthbound Immortal" of this world.
When she reached this point, she couldn't help but laugh, possibly because her own speculations seemed absurd.
But upon deeper reflection...
That's actually it.
In any case, more power from the concept of "Polymerization" was allocated to Tenjo Hikari, making Super Polymerization stronger, providing Tenjo Hikari with more cards, and even enabling him to create some Fusion Monsters theoretically possible only with specific strong Spirits, such as those birthed by "The Eye of Timaeus" or "The Claw of Hermos."
Naturally, in his spare time, Tenjo Hikari's primary research objective was the "Time Magic Hammer."
Time Magic Hammer is a LV 2 Light Attribute Spellcaster-Type Fusion Monster, and as a Fusion Monster, it can only be Special Summoned by using the effect of "The Claw of Hermos" to send Spellcaster-Type from hand or field to the Graveyard.
Unlike the direct transformation of Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl into Fusion Monsters by The Eye of Timaeus, The Claw of Hermos typically turns monsters into "equipments" to assist other cards in battle.
Frankly speaking, the effect of Time Magic Hammer itself wasn't particularly significant for Tenjo Hikari.
However, one point of importance for Tenjo Hikari and his life goals thereafter was...
It is a LV 2 Fusion Monster.
Though saying so doesn't seem like much.
But in the Yu Gi Oh card pool, there are only three Fusion Monsters at LV 2: Time Magic Hammer, Allvain the Essence of Vanity, and the much-maligned Hugin the Runick Wings.
There's no need to mention Hugin; Tenjo Hikari hasn't even seen any cards of the Runick Wings, not even Super Polymerization—which is clearly a Fusion card itself.
As for Allvain the Essence of Vanity, it's a Fusion Tuner Monster that requires the fusion of two Normal Monsters.
Tenjo Hikari didn't find it in the World of the Forgotten, so it can basically be assumed unobtainable in the short term, leaving Time Magic Hammer as the only "LV 2 Fusion Monster" Tenjo Hikari could acquire.
