"Ugh—Oh—"
Dragonite felt as if it was riding a colossal swing in an amusement park, forced to spin repeatedly within the arena.
Whoosh—
Whoosh—
The dull sound of the wind whistled sharply.
"Happy!!"
Blissey clung to its tail, spinning along with it, seemingly unaffected by the thin layer of ice left by Milotic. Its cute little face was tense, its small black eyes nearly squinting into slits, as a mass of reddish-brown energy gathered on its body, forming a strange ball of light.
It seemed as if a blue star was rotating.
The phantom of the Earth!
Even Baimu, who had seen this more times than he could count, couldn't help but click his tongue silently. He used to think the giant Earth that suddenly appeared when Charizard used Seismic Toss in the animation was a dramatic effect.
Only after Blissey learned Seismic Toss did he realize that this was not just a dramatic effect, but an afterimage formed by the gathered attribute energy.
The staff outside the field watched Blissey in shock, as it spun Dragonite's massive body around, refreshing their understanding of it once again.
From Gravity, Minimize, Defend to Severe Poison and Seismic Toss, Blissey was practically a "cancer" in battle, completely controlling Naqi's Pokémon.
It's fair to say that for Mawile and Milotic to take down Pelipper and Skarmory, Blissey's contribution was immense.
In this Gym Battle, it was undoubtedly the core.
Without knocking it out, Naqi's chances of winning were practically nil.
And at this moment, Dragonite was quite baffled.
This can't be right, can it? How was it flung around in a field with Gravity!?
It couldn't figure out why it was being tossed, as Blissey's spinning speed was so fast its head was a mess, making it difficult to calm down and think.
But fortunately, it wasn't spun for too long.
When the spinning speed reached a certain limit, and the force was at its peak, Blissey chose to let go!
Whoosh!
Dragonite flapped its small wings desperately, trying to gain some backward momentum, but the energy from the Seismic Toss was too powerful, it was impossible to resist.
It could only watch as the Trainer's stand, where Naqi was located, came closer and closer.
Thud!
Dragonite crashed headfirst into the pillar of the Trainer's stand, causing the platform where Naqi stood above to shake violently from the terrifying force.
Naqi bit her lip, paying no mind to her own safety, and fixed her gaze on the Dragonite trying to get up on the ice.
Fortunately, though Seismic Toss looked mighty, it actually didn't deal enough damage to knock it out.
"Ugh-Oh!"
Dragonite stood firm, the ice surface beneath its feet, a complete mess, as it let out an unyielding roar at the distant Blissey.
Naqi couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, thinking there was still hope, shouting, "Use Divine Speed!"
Blissey, being a Pokémon with exceptionally high Special Defense, had just set up a Light Wall, which practically shut down Dragonite's options for Special Attack damage.
She knew very well that Baimu did this intentionally to ensure Dragonite engaged Blissey in close combat.
Given the current situation, she had no choice.
For now.
"Ugh-Oh!"
Dragonite's small wings fluttered behind it, enveloped in intense white light, as its powerful legs moved suddenly, forming an afterimage in place.
Blissey's dynamic vision couldn't keep up with its movements, and the Trainer's lack of warning suggested they couldn't track Dragonite's whereabouts either.
But actually, it didn't need to catch up.
"Defend!"
Blissey unhesitatingly raised its small hand, a honeycomb-shaped light shield appeared, completely enveloping it.
Bang!
The light shield shook violently, and turning its head, it suddenly saw the now visible Dragonite appeared behind it, cloaked in a flowing white light, slamming fiercely against the light shield, but unable to shatter it.
Noticing this, Dragonite retreated the moment its energy depleted, but Baimu wasn't going to let it leave.
"Minimize! Stick to it!"
"Happy!"
With both the light shield and the white light disappearing, Blissey not only didn't distance itself to evade Dragonite's next round of attack, but instead, lunged toward the latter, catching its tail unexpectedly.
Naqi's expression changed drastically, "Not good! Use Slam to knock it off!"
"Ugh-Oh!"
Dragonite's tail quickly flicked upward, attempting to slam down, but who would have thought that just as the tail lifted, Blissey suddenly released its grip, its body shrinking rapidly to the size of a Happiny, climbed onto Dragonite's back using momentum and gravity.
And swiftly made its way to the head!
Dragonite struggled frantically, but Blissey clung like a sticky plaster, refusing to be shaken off.
Little did it know that the latter had been trained in grappling combat on Aggron and Hydreigon, neither of whom could shake off Blissey, let alone a mere Dragonite.
Upon seeing this, Naqi immediately understood Baimu's plan and shouted again, "Inverted Scale!"
She really didn't want to use Inverted Scale, a move that harms both sides, but the situation left her no room to hesitate.
"Ugh-Oh!"
Dragonite roared up into the sky, blood-colored smoke rising from its body, followed by a chilling aura that gathered upon it, and its eyes quickly turned the crimson color of rage.
When it started struggling again, the amplitude was far greater than before, even taking on a do-or-die posture with Blissey as it crashed to the ground, rolling back and forth.
"Severe Poison!"
Baimu knew that with such turmoil, the latter likely couldn't hold out much longer, so he decisively took a step back.
