As soon as they meet, they start fighting; even if they fall, they'll stand up and continue battling. Kyogre and Groudon have already left Yamato with a deep impression of their combative nature.
No matter why they are belligerent, it's not good news for her; the more combative a creature is, the higher the chance it will catch Kaidou's attention.
Hoping they're Peacekeepers is merely Yamato's wishful thinking; among the relationships of the first-class gods, Ho-Oh and Lugia are considered the most peaceful, as they have little major conflict and seldom meet.
Zekrom and Reshiram battle due to their ideals, and if a special person appears, they can balance the conflict between the dragons.
But Kyogre and Groudon are different. Whether it's authority or purpose, there's hardly any chance of peaceful coexistence for them.
Either everyone stays far away and sleeps, or if one wakes up, the other won't stay asleep.
The most effective way to make them stop is to directly defeat them both.
According to Yamato's experience, if no third Pokemon appears, Kaidou might end up with a choice between two options, or even all.
However, such a thing is impossible; over ages, the sea and land have alternated in existence. Kyogre created The Sea, representing the will of the ocean, while Groudon created the land, naturally representing the will of the earth.
Their wills, unlike the black and white dragons' ideals and reality, cannot coexist. Placing their powers together would result in immediate self-destruction.
The merging of water and fire to create a nuclear embodiment is not something that happens with them.
The appearance of a third Pokemon indicates that there are other options. The choice Arceus offers Kaidou might not be those two mountain-crushing, sea-flipping monsters.
But Yamato forgot one thing: sometimes what alleviates the immediate crisis may not be the solution, but a bigger crisis.
Emerging through the clouds was another first-class god of the Hoenn Region, the Sky Pokemon - Rayquaza, a powerful Dragon-type Pokemon tearing through the sky.
In appearance, Rayquaza is a green flying dragon with unique square side wings and tail fins on its body.
Like Kyogre and Groudon, it also has unique markings on its body.
Unlike Kyogre and Groudon, who sleep in the deep sea and magma, Rayquaza has always lived high in the ozone layer.
Throughout its long life, Rayquaza has never descended to the ground.
Because its habitat is far from the ground, it's beyond the range of the naked eye, and covered by clouds, humans on the ground have almost never seen its true form.
Most of the time, Rayquaza guards the atmosphere, its enemies are unknown objects from outer space; the water and particles in the air are its food, as are meteors drawn into the atmosphere by gravity.
Sometimes Rayquaza appears during nighttime meteor showers, which is how it hunts, directly consuming meteors that cannot be burned up in the atmosphere.
Rayquaza rarely appears on the ground, except when Groudon and Kyogre are fighting.
If left to continue battling endlessly, the whole world would be destroyed in the endless reshaping of the ocean and land. Rayquaza protects a balance, and when such order-disrupting battles occur, it appears to stop the fight between Kyogre and Groudon.
In a sense, Rayquaza is the Peacekeeper Yamato prayed for, except Rayquaza's way of maintaining peace is quite special.
It chooses to directly defeat Groudon and Kyogre; without first giving them a beating, simple persuasion is useless.
If a poll was conducted to determine which region's gods are the most irritable and love to fight the most, the Hoenn Region would likely win the championship.
"Roar!"
Descending from the sky, Rayquaza lets out a roar towards the ground, but the fighting-mad Groudon and Kyogre just ignore it.
Seeing this, Rayquaza makes its choice; its body is enveloped in light, and when the light fades, Rayquaza's body shines like emerald.
A Δ-shaped pattern appears on its forehead, and the pair of angles on its chin extend to the front of its mouth, with additional ribbon-like golden objects.
This is not Primal Reversion, but Mega Evolution; living in the high sky, Rayquaza is one of the few Pokemon that has mastered the ability to Mega Evolve independently.
Its usual behavior of consuming meteors has stored a lot of energy within it, and it is precisely through this power that Rayquaza can achieve self-Mega Evolution.
When Rayquaza appeared, the turbulent weather calmed down; the clouds above the heavy rain parted, and the scorching sunlight became less intense, this was Rayquaza's ability.
Continuous golden particles fly out from the extensions of Rayquaza's long beard. These particles can control the concentration and humidity of gases, and Rayquaza uses them to manipulate the weather.
"Roar!"
Dense meteor showers fly out from Rayquaza's body, and Kaidou recognizes it as Draco Meteor, however, the Draco Meteor unleashed by Rayquaza is more powerful.
The dense meteor shower forcibly pushed back Groudon and Kyogre, which made them even angrier.
Kyogre and Groudon, temporarily separated, targeted a new opponent, simultaneously launching attacks at Rayquaza.
Solar Beam and Root Fluctuation respectively fly towards Rayquaza, but with its agile body, Rayquaza shuttles through the energy fluctuations and releases Hyper Beam towards the two Pokemon below.
Groudon and Kyogre aren't entirely unable to retaliate; that brief stiffness gave them a chance. Groudon's Eruption fires a barrage of magma bombs towards Rayquaza's face, and Kyogre condenses Root Fluctuation once more.
This time the attack hits the target, causing Rayquaza to let out a painful howl, and it then uses a stronger Hyper Beam on Kyogre.
Unable to dodge in time, Kyogre is directly blown away, finally crashing into Groudon.
Seeing Rayquaza flaunting its prestige in the sky and trying to use Kyogre as a stinky fish to hit it, Groudon used Precipice Blades again.
Not just one, a total of five rocky blades break through the water from the seabed, stabbing at Rayquaza from different angles. Though seemingly clumsy, Groudon's attack movements are actually very swift.
Several Precipice Blades crisscross in the air, and the stone blades containing Earth Power exploded ferociously mid-air.
The impact from the explosion, mixed with scorching rock fragments, enveloped Rayquaza's body, almost simultaneously, the flung Kyogre crashed into Groudon.
Seeing this situation, the emerald glow surrounding Rayquaza became even more dazzling, and after withstanding Groudon's Precipice Blades, Rayquaza's body was surrounded by airflow, rapidly rushing towards Kyogre and Groudon.
The energy within was concentrated at the front of the body—Rayquaza's exclusive move: Dragon Ascent.
