Fighting barehanded is not Kaidou's forte; compared to fighting unarmed, he could unleash more formidable power by using weapons. Just now, he took a punch with his face without using any weapons, simply to experience the famed title of Iron Fist.
Hero Garp, Iron Fist Garp, earned this title purely with his two fists and Haki. The last time he had any interaction with Garp can almost be traced back to the era of Rocks.
At that time, Roger was not yet the biggest trouble on the sea, and the strength and frantic actions of Rocks nearly affected the entire sea. Defeated by Garp and Roger together, Kaidou back then wasn't even qualified to intervene in that battle.
Furthermore, by then, the Rocks Pirates had already been disheartened. A crew forcibly held together by Rocks' personal might had no intention of fighting unitedly. Kaidou, along with Charlotte Linlin, fled Divine Valley.
Back then, he didn't have the ambition to challenge the entire world, but now, everything is different.
"Thundering Hakken!"
The thunderous roar was deafening, with the power of thunder entangling the Hassaikai. If the Wolf Fang Club could be ranked among the famed swords, then the current Second Hassaikai would surely be on the list along with the Seventh Arankaken.
"Bone Fist... Mountain Collapse!"
No matter what attack method the enemy used, Garp's approach remained largely unchanged. His iron fists carried countless convictions, a fighting style continued from the day he became a Navy soldier.
His hands could even substitute for heavy artillery, launching shells directly unarmed.
For him, Mountain Collapse wasn't an exaggeration, but a real training method. Whenever faced with a strong opponent, Garp would train his fists against mountains.
Back when dealing with Chinjao's pointed head, Garp punched through several mountains in succession.
In his beast form, Kaidou's size was almost three times that of Garp. Typically, a smaller opponent facing a massive enemy would utilize their greater agility, but here, it was meaningless.
Both Garp and Kaidou chose the most straightforward way to fight — head-on confrontation.
When the iron fists and Wolf Fang Club collided, the impact was even fiercer than before. The aftermath of their clashes had a significant effect on the soldiers within the base, but Garp had no other way.
He could restrict Kaidou's actions somewhat but couldn't control the aftermath. More accurately, this restriction could only protect part of the area. He was a Navy Hero but had not broken the human limit.
Facing the freely flying Kaidou, stopping the current Kaidou completely was also something Garp couldn't achieve.
"Worororo, now that's more like it; this is the meaning of battle!"
Kaidou's face once again displayed a smile, with both his hands gripping the Wolf Fang Club. But seeing his smile made Garp look even grimmer.
When Kaidou swung his club again, Garp changed his tactics. Instead of taking it head-on with his fists, he used Haki to armor his body and then grabbed Kaidou's Wolf Fang Club.
Taking advantage of Kaidou's swinging force, Garp flew into the air, then, in a Moonwalk stance, he stomped the air repeatedly, charging towards Kaidou like an arrow.
"Bone Fist·Meteor!"
"Hot Breath!"
He is a Zoan type, but more so, a Mythical Beast, possessing powerful elemental abilities beyond the Zoan body. The scorching energy gathered in his mouth, spewing towards the incoming Garp.
He never claimed not to use these means in this battle.
Watching the incoming flames, Garp didn't change his direction, heading straight with his fist towards the Hot Breath, his arms crossing and striking, forcibly splitting Kaidou's Hot Breath in two.
His fists broke through Kaidou's Hot Breath; emerging from the flames, Garp was like a demon from Purgatory, his fists covered with Haki, with even remnants of Kaidou's Hot Breath fire still on the Haki.
Boom!
This fist landed squarely on Kaidou's face, causing his massive body to fall to the ground once again.
"Vice Admiral Garp won! He knocked down Kaidou!!"
The soldiers watching from a distance erupted in cheers. It was a battle that far exceeded their level, and they could only judge the outcome with their eyes.
But in the next moment, Garp didn't follow up the attack but instead swiftly retreated; Kaidou's Wolf Fang Club nearly grazed his feet as it hit the ground.
The earth fractured severely from this blow, nearby seawater rushing in, creating a moat around the G-1 Branch.
"Pah, got careless, your power seems unchanged, old guy."
Spitting to the side, Kaidou got up again, the damage to the ground far greater than that to Kaidou.
"Don't joke around; you say I wasn't serious, but weren't you the same? Those two punches shouldn't have hit you."
"Oh? It seems your intelligence agency has uncovered quite some information."
"Don't underestimate the Navy, pirate…"
Even though the punch landed on Kaidou, Garp had no excitement. The Navy's intelligence was very clear; Kaidou—or rather, Hundred Beasts—had a unique shield ability, with Kaidou and several officers capable of using it.
Though the strength varied based on their power, that Barrier-Barrier Fruit-like ability was definitely a big hassle. Yet, from start to finish, Kaidou never used the protective barrier.
He would rather take his punch with his face than use that special barrier.
This left Garp puzzled at what was going on in Kaidou's crazy mind.
"Worororo, don't overthink it, I simply don't want to use it."
The first time was to test Garp's fists, the second was merely Kaidou's personal choice.
"That's too boring, with limited time today, it's impossible to decide a winner with you."
Even with plot armor, it would take half a day to end a fight with Kaidou; in a few hours, neither Kaidou nor Garp could conclude a result.
"Always using that would be meaningless; I also have many things I need to try, Rain!"
Kaidou suddenly shouted "rain" towards the sky, and in the distance, the Eight-Headed Dragon seemed to understand, turning and diving into the clouds.
Kaidou and Garp's fight had long dispersed the clouds in the sky, but now, the clear sky was once again shrouded by dark clouds, lightning flashing within, and in an instant, heavy rain poured down.
"I've wanted to try this move for a long time; that old lady Linlin used it plenty back then."
Lightning coiled around the top of the Hassaikai once more. This time, Kaidou didn't approach Garp; instead, he swung his club towards the sky.
"Tenma Daijizaitenjin!"
