Chapter 231 - KHM is going on hiatus.

To be honest, I didn't want to have to do this right now, but it's something that has to be done.

KHM is going on hiatus.

Honestly, KHM is the fanfic I'm the most emotionally attached to. It was one of the first stories I truly invested my time and effort into, and for a long time, writing it was something I genuinely loved doing.

But at some point, I think I lost my way.

I gradually started caring more and more about what other people wanted, complained about, or expected from the story, and without realizing it, I stopped writing because I wanted to. I stopped having fun.

About a week ago, I finally realized that maybe it was time to let go of this bone for a while.

Since then, my motivation has only continued to decline, and I believe that has become obvious to everyone following the story. The quality has dropped significantly—far more than I consider acceptable for something I care about this much.

That's exactly why I decided to take this break.

I'm not abandoning KHM, nor do I have any intention of doing so. I'm simply going to let it rest for a while... and take a break from it myself. I think this time will help me organize my thoughts, restructure the story, and get back to writing because I genuinely want to, not because I feel like I have to.

On top of that, I've continued working on the rewrite from the very beginning, and honestly, it's turning out much better than I ever imagined.

A lot has been rewritten, other parts have been completely removed, and many events are being reorganized to make much more sense. So far, I already have a solid foundation for Chapters 1, 2, and 3, and whenever I have some free time, I go back to them to revise, improve, and polish them even further.

Another thing I really want to improve is the entire Marvel setting.

It still has a huge amount of untapped potential that I simply didn't take advantage of in the current version of the story. I want to build a much more vibrant universe and let Arthur leave his own mark on that world without relying so heavily on Gwen or his friendship with Tony.

But to do that properly, I'll need to spend a lot of time studying—not only certain Marvel settings I plan to use, but also other stories and different approaches to developing that universe so I can come up with good ideas.

For now, this is the planned structure of the story:

Arc 1: Marvel

Arc 2: NieR: Automata

Arc 3: Marvel

The arcs after that will be decided in the future as my own ideas continue to mature.

I also believe it'll still be a while before the rewrite reaches the point where I feel it's ready to start publishing.

And honestly... I'd rather it be that way.

I want to let this story cook for as long as necessary so I can deliver the best version I'm capable of writing. When it finally returns, I want to look at it and feel proud of the result.

As for everything else, Pokémon: Alex's Journey and the new Mushoku Tensei fanfic will receive my full attention when it comes to updates.

Since I didn't receive a satisfactory response from readers regarding my other fanfics, they'll remain on hiatus until I feel it's the right time to return to them.
