It was a cold night. The sky, jet-black like a velvet cloak, concealed a terrifying threat within its depths. An unknown object, torn from distant stars, fell relentlessly toward the Earth in flames, ripping through the layers of the atmosphere. Seconds later, a deafening, earth-shattering boom echoed. The ground trembled violently, and the windows of houses in the nearby town were covered in cracks like fine spiderwebs. On that ominous night, no one knew what kind of darkness that fireball falling from the sky brought with it.
With the first light of morning, curious onlookers and the hurried footsteps of scientists flocked to the scene. A massive crater was like a deep wound torn into the breast of the earth. In the very center of this crater lay a black stone, with strange, glowing veins running across its surface. Though it appeared lifeless and still at first glance, something mysterious had awakened in its depths. That dark night, an insidious creature, too small to be seen by the naked eye, seeped out of the meteorite and vanished into the darkness.
