Chapter 44 Warden

"I can lead the way for you," Sykes said.

Sykes cautiously walked in front, and under his guidance, the group bypassed multiple guards' obstructions, moving unimpeded.

Bruso quietly asked, "Mina, is this Sykes trustworthy?"

"Of course he's trustworthy. Uncle Sykes has been someone I've admired since I was little. You're not allowed to speak ill of him."

Bruso was deflated and scratched his head.

If Mina hadn't known Sykes, then Lena most likely wouldn't have gone to save him. It seemed some kind of bond had been triggered.

Soon, everyone arrived in front of Jack Sparrow's cell. At this moment, Jack was sitting inside dispiritedly, holding a bottle from who-knows-where. He put a note in it and threw it out through a small hole in the ceiling. Outside the cell was the ocean, and the previous message in a bottle was found this way. One message in a bottle every day, for whoever is fated to find it.

"It seems my message in a bottle worked." Jack immediately got up and walked to the cell door. "It's you, Miss Leni!"

"You still remember me?" Lena asked.

"Of course. That day, we defeated Barbossa together in the Treasure Cave. Your bravery left a deep impression on me."

At this moment, Mina used her lock-picking skill to open Jack's cell. Jack calmly walked out of the cell: "Do you have a handy weapon for me? I'll take everyone out of here."

Lena took out a rare quality flintlock from her inventory and handed it to Jack.

"This gun is good," Jack praised.

Just then, a sinister aura appeared, permeating the entire prison. Captain Jack's expression stiffened: "Damn it, that guy found us."

As Jack's words fell, a figure walked out of the room. The dim light shone on the Warden, and surprisingly, his shadow did not appear on the ground. He was indeed an undead.

"Jack, what are you up to again?!" The Warden roared Jack's name as soon as he appeared. It seemed Jack had done many infuriating things during this time. The Warden appeared in everyone's sight, glowing green all over, holding a chained lantern in his right hand, like a soul reaper.

Jack shrugged: "Mr. Austin, don't be so angry. As long as you let me leave here, you can enjoy a peaceful environment, can't you?"

The Warden was furious: "I was peaceful, but which scoundrel broke into my prison in the first place?"

"I apologize for breaking into your prison back then. I took on a mission, and that person gave me an irresistible reward. If you want some, I can share it with you."

The Warden laughed in anger: "Do you think I need gold coins?"

"Apparently not. Let's get out of here!"

Jack took the lead and ran out, and Lena and the others immediately followed suit. Someone even Jack didn't want to fight meant he must be very strong.

"Where do you think you're going?!" The Warden swung the chain in his hand, accurately wrapping it around Jack's ankle and pulling him in front of him. The Warden's hand gripped Jack's neck: "No one is leaving here today!"

"Let's talk, Austin. I can become your subordinate. If there's anyone you want to catch, you can tell me, and I'll bring them back for you!"

"Do you think I'll still believe your nonsense?"

"You could try once."

"That's impossible."

As the Warden's hand tightened, Jack's health bar continuously dropped.

"Attack!" Lena ordered.

Everyone began to launch long-range attacks at the Warden. Just like when they attacked James before, the bullets passed right through him. However, this time, there was no mark on the Warden's body.

Jack said, "Go to his room and find his spellbook. Destroy that spellbook!"

Upon hearing this, Lena immediately rushed towards the Warden's room. The Warden would not let anyone easily enter his room. He threw Jack aside, swung the chain in his hand again, and hurled it towards Lena.

Seeing this, Sykes fearlessly blocked in front of Lena and was hooked by the Warden's chain. The Warden pulled Sykes and swung him hard, slamming him against the wall, reducing his health by more than half.

Seeing this, the remaining few once again launched attacks at the Warden. However, all attacks were like hitting a ghost, having no effect whatsoever. The Warden ignored the attacks of the others; his eyes were only on Lena, who was rushing towards the room.

"You won't enter my room!" The Warden transformed into a ghostly phantom, quickly floating to the doorway, blocking Lena's path.

Seeing this, Lena quickly retreated to create distance. She used her agile movements to dodge the Warden's chain attacks. At this moment, Lena saw Jack secretly making gestures. She understood immediately and began to lure the Warden away from that position.

The Warden's aggro was completely drawn to Lena, and in a short while, he left the doorway. Seeing this, Jack stealthily snuck into the room. At this moment, the Warden's body stiffened, as if he sensed something, and he immediately turned to look at the room.

Jack walked out of the room, shaking his head, holding an undead spellbook in his hand. "Mr. Austin, look what this is?" Jack proudly showed off the spellbook in his hand.

"No! Give me back the spellbook!"

Jack smirked, placed both hands on the spellbook, and tore hard. "Damn it, why is this book so sturdy?" He exerted force twice in a row, yet still couldn't tear the spellbook.

At this moment, the Warden's chain arrived again, wrapping around Jack's right hand. Jack was instantly pulled in front of the Warden, and the spellbook in his hand fell to the ground.

"Jack, I'm going to kill you right now!" The Warden glared at Jack.

Suddenly, Sykes, who had been still, stood up, rushed over, and picked up the undead spellbook. Everyone's attention was drawn to Sykes. Sykes grabbed the spellbook with both hands, and with a roar, his arm muscles bulged. His immense brute force tore the spellbook in half.

"No!!!"

The Warden threw Jack from his hand, and his body suffered a violent backlash. The green light dissipated from his body, gradually restoring his human form. "Damn you, how dare you tear my undead spellbook!"

The Warden swung his chain again; however, this time, his movements were slow, and the chain's speed was greatly reduced.

"Attack!" Lena ordered.

Everyone launched attacks at the Warden, unleashing their respective skills. The Warden, having lost his physical immunity, began to rapidly lose health.

The Warden suddenly went mad. He rushed towards a fuse: "I'll make all of you perish with me!" The Warden had a super armor state, so no one could interrupt his actions. At the current rate of health reduction, it was impossible to prevent the gunpowder from being ignited.

Suddenly, Lena appeared behind the Warden and activated a new skill, Execution Blade Art. A slow yet powerful attack struck the Warden.
