Lu Luo wrote Qin Wanyu's name on the wall with his finger, bolding the characters for "Wanyu," then stared at Ludy with an expression that seemed to say, "You're not illiterate, are you?"
"I think you've made him angry. His eyelid is twitching; he probably wants to punch you."
Ludy looked at Lu Luo with some displeasure. The rules inside and outside the wall were different. If he wasn't afraid of complaints, he would have already resorted to violence.
"Qin Wanyu? That's a rather unique name. Not many people in this world know about fish, and even fewer would name someone that," Ludy muttered.
"Do you have any other clues? You're very clever, I can tell. There's no one else here, so you'd best think carefully about how to answer my questions."
"No, at least not right now." Lu Luo pointed upstairs, answering quickly. Ludy opened his mouth, but ultimately didn't press him.
He also glanced upstairs. Did Lu Luo mean it wasn't convenient to speak with those people present? Or was one of them the problem?
"Understood. Since I've found you all, my mission is complete. Let's go."
Ludy pulled Lu Luo and started to head upstairs. It seemed he really wasn't planning to continue dealing with the other Xenomorph in the exhibition hall.
"Captain Ludy, there are other variant species here, aren't there? Don't you need to deal with them?"
Lu Luo's original idea was to follow this powerful Hunter and pick up corpses, gaining both profit and safety.
If Ludy wasn't willing to give him the corpses, he would use the evidence of this incident as a trade.
However, Ludy now seemed to have no intention of continuing to deal with the variant species. He shrugged and pointed downstairs.
"I'm the only normal person left in our Team 13. How could I do dirty, tiring work like clearing variant species? Look, Team 33 is coming from downstairs. They're numerous and powerful, so it's better to leave this kind of sweeping work to them."
"The people in Team 33 are a bit… off in the head, and they're stubborn and not very flexible in how they do things. They're not good at communicating with witnesses and informants."
Lu Luo didn't quite understand what Ludy meant. Shouldn't the function of a Hunter be similar to that of police officers in his previous life? Listening to Ludy's tone, it seemed a bit different. How could someone who was "off in the head" be a Hunter?
Before he could think about it, Luo Sen, the captain of Hunter Team 33, led a large group of Hunters charging upstairs. The group was full of vigor, and their aura was intense.
As they passed Lu Luo and Ludy, Luo Sen stopped. The moment he stopped, Ludy immediately started yelling.
"You wouldn't try to snatch the task of rescuing survivors, would you? There's a first-come, first-served rule for everything, Luo Sen. Can't you have some manners?"
"I didn't do anything, why are you shouting?"
"This person possesses astonishing killing intent and murderous aura, practically a humanoid variant species. But what does he mean by this? Is he trying to act like a big shot in front of us?"
"How presumptuous! Lu Luo, when you become a big shot in the future, you must throw a cup in his face and show him what's what!"
Luo Sen smiled, his face showing clear indifference and arrogance. He looked at Lu Luo and left him with a single sentence.
"All these people need to be taken to the bureau for registration. Don't forget."
Luo Sen left after speaking. Lu Luo's back was already drenched in sweat, leaning against the wall. The pressure Luo Sen exerted on Lu Luo was even more absurd than that of the Sleeping Witch, Qin Wanyu, at the very beginning.
Lu Luo was somewhat dissatisfied with his own reaction. He didn't like the feeling of being intimidated by someone's aura. He silently said in his heart:
"Okay, when I become a big shot, I'll definitely throw a cup in his face."
By this point, Lu Luo roughly understood why Ludy had said that the people in Team 33 were "off in the head."
"Off in the head" didn't mean low intelligence, but rather that their way of doing things was completely different from normal people.
All these people in Team 33 were extraordinary individuals, but they had no intention of controlling their aura. The entire team had one style: unrestrained.
"Yes, what's there to be afraid of? You've had the help of a powerful S-class Observer. Surpassing him is only a matter of time. When you rise, grab an AK yourself, and get me a rifle too. We'll sit at his doorstep and ask him if he's scared!"
"Stop it. Threatening Wasteland Security Bureau personnel is a Level 2 Alliance crime. Do you wish me dead?"
"Oh, how could I? But I still have to tell you, don't judge a book by its cover. That guy just now, who looked so arrogant, is actually not as strong as the scruffy man in front of you."
"Holy crap!" Hearing that Ludy was even stronger than Luo Sen, Lu Luo finally couldn't help but exclaim "Holy crap!"
"Be civilized. Only those who haven't studied history keep saying 'holy crap, holy crap.'"
Lu Luo cleared his throat twice to dispel his surprise. The scruffy Ludy was actually stronger than the formidable Luo Sen?
He didn't look like it at all, he seemed like such a noob. What exactly had he been through?
"Ahem, is this how all Hunters operate? Ordinary people probably can't stand their oppressive aura, right?"
Ludy lit a cigarette for himself, then naturally pulled one out and offered it to Lu Luo, but Lu Luo refused.
"Thanks, I don't smoke."
"Some of them are like that, I suppose. They all became this way because of that damned wall. You at least met me, a normal person. You're lucky. It's about time. Take your companions and come with me. Let them go to the Security Bureau to make a statement, then go home, get a good night's sleep, and forget about today's events."
"You've arranged for them, but what about me?" Lu Luo gave a meaningful look.
"You'll naturally come with me. Our conversation isn't over yet!" Ludy returned a look that all men understood.
"Wow, a secret conversation between men, ..."
"Get lost!" Lu Luo raged inwardly.
Upstairs, he briefly explained the current situation to Gu Fangyi and the others. Learning that the Wasteland Hunters had taken over, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Gu Fangyi almost collapsed. Although this incident didn't last long, the pressure he endured was the greatest among everyone. The joy of surviving a disaster was accompanied by endless exhaustion.
"Finally, we're safe."
The few of them went downstairs together, once again seeing the wasteland sky and breathing fresh air.
The sky was still the same, perpetually gray. In Lu Luo's memory, the last time he saw sunlight was more than ten years ago.
Gu Fangyi and the other three got into a Hunter's vehicle. Only five people could fit in one car. If Lu Luo and Ludy squeezed in, it would be a traffic violation.
Unsafe driving, tears for loved ones – it was the same in any world.
"Lu Luo, aren't you coming back with us?" Gu Fangyi was still somewhat concerned about his reliable comrade, Lu Luo.
"I'll go back with Captain Ludy. You guys go ahead."
"Okay." Gu Fangyi didn't waste any more words; his injuries needed treatment.
The car sped away, leaving Ludy and Lu Luo behind.
