Chapter 88 - Chapter 88

Su Ning drove at an exhilarating speed, one hand resting lightly on the steering wheel, the other relaxed on the armrest, her expression calm but faintly satisfied.

‎Just then, her phone vibrated against the console.

‎She glanced down briefly at the screen and saw an unfamiliar number flashing.

‎Her brows lifted slightly, more curious than wary, and she tapped the Bluetooth button on the steering wheel.

‎"Hello," she said, her voice even and unhurried.

‎There was a noticeable pause on the other end, followed by a low, hurried breath, as if the caller had been gathering his courage before speaking.

‎"M-master Su...," a rough male voice stammered out, thick with nervousness. "Th-this is Hu Zhen… from Tiger Gang. I… I hope I'm not disturbing you."

‎Su Ning's eyes narrowed just a fraction, a faint glimmer of amusement passing through them as she adjusted her grip on the wheel.

‎"You can speak," she replied coolly.

‎The man's voice immediately grew more deferential, each word chosen with visible caution.

‎"I… I wanted to inform you that… that everything you asked for has been completed, Master Su," Hu Zhen said quickly. "All the information regarding the Gu family, their hidden accounts, their illegal operations, their internal documents, audio and video recordings, surveillance footage, and evidence chains… it's all been organized and encrypted into a secure drive."

‎He swallowed audibly before continuing.

‎"I… I was wondering if you would like me to personally deliver it to your residence, or… or wherever you prefer, Master Su. I can come immediately. I won't delay even a minute."

‎Su Ning let out a quiet, almost inaudible scoff, her gaze fixed on the road ahead.

‎"There's no need for you to come anywhere near my house," she said flatly. "I don't want unnecessary eyes or irrelevant people lingering around my private space."

‎Hu Zhen hurriedly responded, his voice trembling with relief and obedience.

‎"O-of course, of course, Master Su. I understand completely. Then… then how would you like to receive it?"

‎"I'll stop by the club," Su Ning said calmly. "Have the drive ready. Don't waste my time."

‎"Yes! Yes, Master Su!" Hu Zhen nearly barked. "I'll be waiting. I'll have everything prepared. Thank you for giving me the chance to serve you!"

‎The call ended.

‎Su Ning's lips twitched faintly, a trace of cold amusement flickering across her face as she shifted lanes with smooth precision.

‎"Serve me?" she murmured under her breath. "You should be grateful I didn't erase you."

‎She made a sharp U-turn at the next intersection, as she directed the car back toward the private club.

‎The Phantom rolled to a smooth stop in front of the club's entrance barely twenty minutes later.

‎Before Su Ning even cut the engine, the front doors of the club swung open.

‎Hu Zhen stood at the head of a long line of men, all dressed in dark suits, their postures rigid and disciplined in a way that starkly contrasted their usual gangster aura. The moment the Phantom came to a full stop, they moved in perfect unison.

‎Hu Zhen bent deeply at the waist, his hands pressed against his thighs, his voice loud and reverent.

‎"Welcome, Master Su!"

‎Behind him, dozens of voices echoed the greeting in a thunderous chorus.

‎"Welcome, Master Su!"

‎Su Ning's brows lifted slightly as she stared through the windshield, her mouth twitching faintly at the absurdly dramatic scene.

‎"…How excessive," she muttered, though her tone carried more dry humor than irritation.

‎She didn't bother opening the door.

‎Instead, she pressed a button, lowering the tinted window just enough for her face to be seen.

‎Hu Zhen immediately hurried forward, holding a sleek black flash drive in both hands as though it were a sacred relic.

‎His movements were careful, respectful, and visibly nervous.

‎"M-Master Su," he said, bowing again, his forehead nearly touching the air above the car door. "This contains everything. I personally supervised the verification process. There are multiple backups stored in isolated servers, but this is the master copy."

‎Su Ning regarded him coldly for a few seconds, her eyes calm yet sharp enough to make his heart pound violently.

‎"Good," she said simply.

‎She reached out, took the drive between two fingers, and examined it briefly before slipping it into her handbag.

‎"You did well," she added coolly. "I'll contact you if I need anything else."

‎Hu Zhen's face lit up with a mix of terror and gratitude, his voice nearly cracking.

‎"Th-thank you, Master Su! I will remain on standby at all times. No matter the task, I will carry it out without hesitation!"

‎Su Ning gave a faint, noncommittal nod.

‎"Mm."

‎She raised the window again without another word, restarted the engine, and drove off smoothly.

‎Hu Zhen remained bent forward long after the Phantom disappeared from sight, sweat soaking through his collar as he exhaled shakily.

‎"…Alive," he muttered to himself. "We're still alive."

‎An hour later, Su Ning pulled into the private driveway of her villa.

‎The gates slid open soundlessly, welcoming her into the serene estate. She parked the Phantom in its designated space, stepped out, and entered the villa with unhurried grace.

‎The living room was bathed in warm, ambient lighting, the plush carpet absorbing the sound of her footsteps as she moved toward the sofa. She set her handbag down, poured herself a cup of freshly brewed coffee from the machine on the side counter, and placed it on the small round stool beside her seat.

‎Then she retrieved her laptop from the coffee table, opened it, and plugged in the black flash drive.

‎The screen flickered to life.

‎Folders began appearing one after another, each neatly labeled and timestamped.

‎Su Ning leaned back slightly, one leg crossing over the other as she took a slow sip of her coffee.

‎"…Let's see what you are hiding...," she murmured.

‎The next hour passed in near silence, broken only by the soft tapping of keys and the faint hum of the laptop fan.

‎As file after file opened, her expression gradually shifted from mild curiosity to cold astonishment.

‎"You've got to be kidding me," she muttered.

‎The Gu family's crimes unfolded in shocking detail.

‎There were internal ledgers revealing massive embezzlement of public funds.

‎Encrypted transaction records showed over two hundred billion yuan hidden across shell companies, offshore accounts, and obscure real-estate investments deliberately structured to evade government scrutiny.

‎Video evidence documented human trafficking routes tied to Gu Corporation subsidiaries.

‎Audio recordings exposed Gu Hongmin personally ordering the suppression of multiple sexual assault cases involving his younger brother, complete with bribes, threats, and manipulated witness statements.

‎Su Ning's eyes narrowed dangerously.

‎"Tsk…Disgusting," she whispered.

‎Then she reached the section labeled Family Secrets.

‎Her brows rose slightly as she read.

‎"…Gu Yingying isn't even his biological daughter?"

‎The DNA reports were undeniable.

‎Gu Yingying's mother had carried on an affair with Li Zecheng, the chairman of the Li Conglomerate and Li Zixuan's father.

‎Gu Hongmin had raised another man's child for over twenty years, completely unaware — or perhaps deliberately ignoring the truth.

‎Su Ning let out a soft, incredulous laugh.

‎"So Gu Yingying and Li Zixuan are half siblings?…And their parents still dare play matchmaker," she murmured. "What a circus."

‎Her gaze sharpened as she read the next revelation.

‎"…Mo Xiyue?"

‎Turned out Mo Lingxue's mother was Gu Hongmin's long-term mistress and had a daughter together, Mo Xue, a year younger than Mo Lingxue, she was currently studying abroad.

‎To Mo Lingxue, Mo Xue was her favorite cousin, they always hanged out whenever Mo Xue came for holidays.

‎Su Ning scrolled and found out that Gu Hongmin had bought a penthouse and several cars for Mo Xue abroad, he also had been training her to work in one of his branch companies abroad.

‎'Seems Gu Hongmin has chosen his favourite and was already training his heiress.' Su Ning thought.

‎Su Ning leaned back slowly, her lips parting in disbelief.

‎"So Gu Hongmin had long known that Gu Yingying wasn't his biological daughter, so he decided to match both siblings as revenge?" Su Ning was shocked.

‎"Tsk…You people are absolutely deranged."

‎She continued scrolling, her expression darkening further.

‎Xu Jinghan and Li Zixuan were secretly dating behind Gu Yingying's back, complete with hotel footage and intimate text exchanges.

‎Four months ago, Fang Yiren and Zhao Mingyu had killed a pedestrian during an illegal street racing.

‎Their families, eager to protect their reputation had framed an innocent truck driver.

‎There were confession recordings, bribed police documents, and altered forensic reports.

‎Su Ning closed her eyes briefly, her grip tightening around her coffee cup.

‎"Lools like the ROYAL 6 and their families were done for…," she murmured coldly.

‎She didn't even need to lift a finger, they would tear each other apart.

‎She reopened her eyes and stared at the screen.

‎Since they dared mess with her, she would make their fall spectacular.

‎She glanced at the Tiger Gang's watermark stamped discreetly on several files and smirked faintly, she suddenly found them a little pleasing to the eye.

‎Just as she took another sip of her coffee, her phone rang.

‎The caller ID read: Zhao Qi.

‎She answered immediately.

‎"Hi," she said calmly.

‎"Good evening, Chairwoman Su," Zhao Qi greeted respectfully. "I'm calling to report on the investigation in City Y."

‎She straightened slightly.

‎"Go on."

‎"A total sum of five hundred and sixty-seven million yuan has been successfully recovered from the internal staff members who were siphoning company funds," Zhao Qi reported. "The main culprits, along with three accomplices, have been formally charged and imprisoned."

‎Su Ning's gaze sharpened.

‎"Confiscate all their properties," she ordered coldly. "Make sure they serve their full sentences. No bail. No parole. No special treatment."

‎"Understood," Zhao Qi replied firmly. "Everything will be handled strictly according to your instructions."

‎He paused briefly before continuing.

‎"Additionally, the expansion wing of Zongsheng Medical Centre has been completed ahead of schedule. The new staff recruitment drive was highly successful, and we've secured several top-tier specialists from overseas. The hospital's reputation has already improved significantly."

‎Su Ning nodded faintly.

‎"Good work," she said. "Keep the momentum going."

‎Zhao Qi's voice carried a hint of pride.

‎"Thank you, Chairwoman Su."

‎Then his tone shifted slightly.

‎"…Regarding the online scandal," he said carefully. "Do you have any updates? The board has been quite anxious."

‎Su Ning's lips curved into a cool, knowing smile.

‎"It'll be over tomorrow," she replied lightly.

‎Zhao Qi let out a long, relieved breath.

‎"…That's wonderful news. Should we prepare a statement in advance?"

‎"No," she said calmly. "Let it play out."

‎"…Understood."

‎He hesitated briefly.

‎"May I ask," Zhao Qi added respectfully, "are you planning to reveal your identity as the owner of Zongsheng soon?"

‎Su Ning's eyes flicked toward the screen displaying the Gu family's crimes.

‎"…Not yet," she said softly. "It's not time."

‎"I see," Zhao Qi replied. "We'll maintain full confidentiality."

‎The call ended.

‎Su Ning leaned back into the sofa, lifting her coffee cup once more.

‎Her expression was serene.

‎Her gaze, however, was razor-sharp.

‎"…Tomorrow," she murmured softly. "Let's see how you all like your own medicine."
