Chapter 86 - Depressing Employment

Even though the group had been under the employment of the D.O.W.N organization, they were curious about the likes of the unit and had put the unit down for a job. They were commissioned to do a prison riot. One of them would be put into the prison and get a small group up in running while inside before inciting a riot.

"Alright, we need someone to get into the prison. D.O.W.N isn't giving any new details about the case and to be frank, I don't care for the rest of it."

Sears had found a chalkboard in some dump and decided to use this job as an opportunity. With the rest of the unit lined up in the parking lot, he had managed to treat the briefing like it was a college class. He still needed to remind himself that even though he was a soldier, he was a fed at heart.

"What if this is a setup?"

Alexandria had caught Sears off guard with the question.

"Simple, we'll have you and Mistress here for insurance of sorts. If any of us die in the heat of the moment, then we'll have the two of you storm the place and kill whoever is there."

"Why?"

"Me, Joey, and Scott are all capable of getting ourselves out of a sticky situation. We're all wanted by INTERPOL and if I'm being honest, if they somehow managed to be killed by someone in the prison then that means that we were set up. I used to set up this kind of stuff all the time."

Sears might not have been as smart as BB, but he was certainly no dummy. He had plenty of ways to do this and all of them were with the interest of saving as many of these people as possible.

"Sounds like a solid plan. But there's one thing about it, who are we sending out to pasture?"

For all it was worth, Scott did have a good question. The group looked around shortly before they agreed and a hand hit Scott over the back of his head.

"Before we go on with this plan, I need a job involving him."

"A job?"

Without anyone noticing, BB had come back into the cabin. His hair was combed back and for the first time in his life he looked like he was putting on weight. In actuality, the shallow detective had managed to find a suit that fitted him instead of wearing every kind of shirt and pants that comforted him.

"I plan on committing several robberies before we move in on this plan. What is the time for the breakout?"

"Tonight. There's no time for your robberies."

BB took out a badge from his pocket.

"Do you know what that is? It's an INTERPOL badge that I managed to get from impersonating Dials. Currently, I'm supposed to be reporting all of you to the FBI and other powers at be. If any of you turn yourselves in before my robberies are committed, I'll use some of Dials's contacts to get you out of those charges. You won't even be in the cell before the cuffs are off."

Alexandria stepped forward. She was getting more and more frustrated with the likes of BB.

"And what is keeping us from killing you right here?"

The smugness of his melancholy expression could be felt a mile away. He was unfazed by the threat.

"If I die then I will just come back. You've all known I died before."

Not a sound came from the room as everyone tried their best to make the situation go in their favor. Of course, BB was bluffing. But Scott, whose head was currently bleeding on the ground, was the only one that understood BB and even knew when he could tell a lie sometimes.

"Looks like we're doing a robbery."

Without a hitch in the plan, he was allowing for a larger plan to unfold. See, he was planning on having Blue Street be robbed by the unit so that way they can have extra cash on hand on top of the already existing investment. BB had his cash invested by Blue Street in a unique way. See, he would take cash there and they would stash the money and use it to fund the purchase of stock. The thing about some criminal organizations is that they have a lot more money than people give them credit for. So, a large amount of cash would still be stashed in the office.

"First things first, loud or quiet?"

"Loud. Quiet jobs take too long."

Sears wasn't in the mood for a long job. He wanted to get into the good graces of D.O.W.N whilst making sure that his group could maintain a normal life. Truth be told, he loved the unit as his own family.

"Can we just come up with a plan first?"

"Sure, the money is in the walls. Bring a sledgehammer and head to the men's room. It says that it's out of order but they hide it there. Probably in a urinal if I were to guess."

Without any time for feedback on the plan, BB went to Scott and began dragging his body away. The plan had come about perfectly.

"You're a good liar."

BB had found an open lot that nobody in the neighborhood would've been particularly keen on inspecting anytime soon. He had been sleeping there between negotiations with D.O.W.N. He wanted to find Harley and even more so wanted to find Sugar. Harley to know how to stop the monster running amuck, and Sugar to restart his life.

"Can you hold still for a minute?"

Dirty rags that were found on the ground held the blood back on Scott's head as BB told him the plan. Loving other people was an awkward process at times.

"Maybe we should talk about Lia and Dr. John for a minute."

"Not a good call."
