Chapter 57 - Jail Conclusions

"I guess this is going to be an awkward experience."

BB knew that he was buying time. I need to get out of here before I end up in prison and he gets away. He's probably already recording our conversation since he speaks so openly and feels like he's taunting me when he talks about the inconsistencies in my lies.

"Looks like the next time we're going to be talking is on the other side of plexiglass."

"I know who you are."

BB tried to use some of his psychic abilities on the DA, but he realized something. No, no, no, no! You have to be kidding me! I'm going to rip that machine bolt from bolt! Despite being mostly emotionless during their adventures, BB had found himself seriously mad because of the fact that he had lost his magic psychic abilities and he was backed into a corner by this monster.

"Right, I'm just an average, every day, district attorney. You know, people have been trying to find dirt on me for years, but they never know that they have been trying to dig in the sky."

"Kid, look into his mind."

Unknowingly, the DA had prepared for this as he had undergone hypnotherapy that would make it as to where no memories of his crimes would appear unwillingly and instead would be replaced with him holding his dead mom's hand after she passed from cancer.

"What were you planning on finding?"

"Oh, you're good."

"So, what are you, some detective?"

"Nah, we're just alike you and I. The only difference is, I never stabbed a child."

Whilst going through the final bit of the file, he found that this man was certainly a twisted individual. BB committed his crimes for the sake of being seen. That was all he ever wanted in his life, to be seen. But now, he had found himself as a man who was looking into a creature who was twice as pathetic as himself. When he finished the interaction and was locked inside the office, he remembered how he had never looked into the man's eyes. What color were they?

"The eyes are the window into the soul."

"Leave my mind alone."

"You need a therapist."

BB was considering telling her everything. He wanted to tell her about how uncertain he was about the fact that Sugar would be coming back and how he had felt afraid. His heart was fragile, and he needed others to help it.

"Will you work for now?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

BB began to pick the lock before he had begun his therapy.

"I was about eighteen when it started. You all know I was a runaway."

"How did that make you feel?"

"Like someone who fell into the wrong crowd. Do you have a bobby pin or a hair pin?"

"I don't have hair."

"Right. Now, it was almost as crazy as right now. Who locks an office from the outside? It is so easy to get yourself trapped."

"Uhuh, now why did you fall into the wrong crowd? You absolutely could've invested or started a company."

"Well, then dear old daddy would have been able to track me down."

She'd figured out that he was a disturbed man, but she never realized the true extent of his evils.

"So, you wanted to be left alone whilst also wanting to be seen. How does that work?"

"You know that it is pathetic, but I just worked and worked for hours. People know that life is very precious, and everybody knows that life of a scammer isn't a precious. ODETTA is an evil that we need to purge. And... done!"

He opened the door to see the police department and of all the people he'd seen, Sears. He was put in cuffs and was assumed to be a deranged kidnapper.

"What'll happen to her?"

"She can stay with me until further notice."

Sears had come up as a temporary guardian. Mistress was to go and find some gas and to deliver it to ODETTA.

"You're a sick human being."

"Don't have to remind me."

BB was sitting in the back of the police car when he had fallen asleep and had a dream. That dream was a lot like the one he had prior. He and the female version of him had talked before he lunged at her. The moment his dream [redacted] was when he had found himself being dragged by his feet into a holding cell where Joey was looking out the window through bricks and Scott was humming the tune to Yankee Doodle. He might have been from elsewhere in the world, but Scott was absolutely a New Yorker. He always cut to the chase and loved a good slice of pizza. When he once went on a field trip to Georgia. When there, they were at a museum, and some redneck family was talking about the Confederate States of America. Scott then got into an argument which quickly turned to a fist fight that he quickly lost.

"Hey, stranger."

"So, do you two have any idea why we're here or are we dealing with a criminal mastermind?"

"Well, Sears dropped us here as a way of learning the land and we have no real way of getting out so we can enjoy the day in jail for disorderly conduct. So, you and she went to grab a look at the DA, is he, our guy?"

"Absolutely. He's probably the smartest person this place has ever seen and that's not saying much."
