[Congratulations, Host. Rating has reached B. Because you jumped from F minus straight to B and achieved a tier leap, your reward tier is raised by one. Final reward tier is A. Please choose one of the following.
Reward 1: Become a Shinigami. Source Bleach.
Reward 2: Obtain a random kekkei genkai. Very small chance to obtain a Kekkai Tota. One percent chance to obtain a Kekkai Mora. Source Naruto.
Reward 3: Obtain a random Devil Fruit with the side effects removed. Source One Piece.]
No one knows how long passed before Mo Ke opened his eyes again. Sealing a tailed beast does not erase its consciousness, but being split in two had gutted him. Sleep took him whether he liked it or not.
The moment he woke, an ethereal mechanical voice rang in his head.
At last. Late but here. Transmigrator Benefit Pack, part two. The System smiles upon me.
Mo Ke sprang up and spun hard in tight circles, tails whipping, in the cramped, ankle-deep water of the seal space.
Knew it. I was not built for long speeches. Systems are clean and simple. Believe it.
He cooled down and smacked himself with a paw. A future apex predator must keep his cool. Be elegant. Elegance never goes out of style. Chasing your tail like this looks way too much like a husky.
He gave his paw a dainty lick, then smack, another paw to the face. Am I a fox or a dog.
The seal tag on the great gate stayed quiet. Kushina still slept.
That crazy woman was even more drained than he was.
Compared to the manga's Kurama who could only lie there and daydream through Naruto's nine years of compulsory education, this start was not bad at all. At least he had a lovely big sister type to chat with. She just had… certain violent habits.
Lady Kushina, you do not want Naruto to—
Pfah. What am I thinking. He slapped himself a third time and focused on the System readout.
He locked his mind on the panel and a brief overview popped up.
After a bit of study, he had the gist.
His former rating was F minus. That was an ordinary Earth human. A typical person in the Naruto world ranked around F to F plus. Civilians here have sixty to seventy billion cells and sometimes alien bloodlines for dessert.
E tier is roughly a normal genin. D covers chunin and special jonin combat power. C is jonin to elite jonin. B is Kage class.
Higher tiers were not unlocked for him yet, so the System offered no details. By his own guess, super Kage equals A, and Six Paths level equals S.
The split Nine-Tails was rated B. A complete Kurama would be B plus. That matched well with the fox's early-era power.
Early Kurama sits between Kage and super Kage. Against true super Kage like Hashirama or Nagato, he gets palmed.
A wild bijuu is not that impressive. A real Kage must be able to suppress a rampaging tailed beast alone.
Jinchuriki do not just borrow power, they stack it. Even then, only the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails hosts reached super Kage, and the weaker side of that. Naruto only soared because the story kept adding expansions.
Side note. During Konoha's destruction arc, Naruto with eight tails showing traded blows with Pain and people thought the Nine-Tails could match Nagato. That was a misread. Half-crippled Nagato soloed the village, dropped Super Shinra Tensei to flex, then left only Deva Path to spar with eight-tails-level Naruto for style. Later Edo Nagato toyed with both Kurama and the Eight-Tails.
As for reward tiers, they are not as granular. Whether you go from F minus to F or F to F plus, the reward tier is F. Quality inside that tier still varies with luck.
He was not worried. He was the true child of fate. He had silver destiny behind him.
The fox licked a paw with haughty air and gazed up at a forty-five degree angle.
The three rewards gave him pause.
Clearly a newbie bundle. Three series, three signature powers.
But are they really that good for an A tier prize The System said the leap bumped the reward to A, which means super Kage level. Close reading said otherwise. Compared to raw super Kage power, each option had gaps.
Option one, become a Shinigami. In terms of pure spectacle, Bleach hits hard. But a Shinigami reaching super Kage power would be rare. Think Yamamoto Genryusai, the various Kenpachi, the Royal Guard, pre-defection Aizen and that tier.
Some of them brush Six Paths threat. Yamamoto's blazing Bankai is said to end a world just by opening. Yet these people trained for centuries.
There are thousands of Shinigami. Only a small slice can even Shikai. Those with Bankai are a couple dozen, and some of those are mid.
Still, it is a full, independent power system with massive ceiling. A class is fair.
And he remembered the line. No useless abilities, only useless users. Slap any power onto a Nine-Tails engine and it becomes scary.
That logic made options two and three workable too. Option two could roll Kekkai Mora level miracles or hand him Wood Release.
Even without Hashirama cells, with Kurama's chakra he could nail a Wood Release Three-Rooms-One-Hall and knock folks flat.
Option three, a Devil Fruit, also fit the rule. Some Fruits are rule power. The Hobby-Hobby Fruit comes to mind. Terrifying.
An A class reward does not mean instant A class output. Reasonable.
Looking closely, option one had the lowest starting point and required training, yet it was the most stable.
Option two is not bad, but this is a tech-friendly ninja world. There are many routes to bloodlines. Simple methods involve plug and play. Complex ones look like Shibai-style art and Kaguya-class nonsense. Refine the Ghost Bud Luo pattern with Yin and Yang and you could synthesize Kekkai Mora. Poor folk rely on mutation is outdated. Tech can cheat too.
Option three felt the least reliable. The System deletes sea weakness, but that does not matter in Naruto. Devil Fruits fear seastone, not seawater itself.
Worse, Fruit power varies wildly. That line about no strongest Fruit, only strongest user sounds nice. Even Oda could not keep Rubber simple and pushed it toward a mythical human. If he rolled a top Paramecia or a few Logia, fine. Otherwise most are meh for him. As for mythical Zoan, he was literally a mythic fox already.
Imagine drawing the Spin-Spin Fruit. Nine tails whirling behind him while he floats slowly over mountains and sea. Comedy hour.
Once Mo Ke made his choice, the huge fox body seemed to spring leaks. Shafts of blood light lanced out of his orange-red fur.
As the light burned, his body shrank.
The Nine-Tails' body is woven from chakra. Chakra is flesh and spirit together, so a tailed beast sits between soul and body. As Mo Ke's soul shifted into a Shinigami form, the body followed.
With the metamorphosis, a power unlike chakra rose and threaded through his channels.
A youth in black Shihakusho slowly took shape within the seal.
Eyes closed. Sixteen or seventeen by the look. Half-long blood-red hair fell in loose shards across his brow. Fine lines and a straight bridge made for a handsome face. Dye the hair a normal shade and add glasses and he would be the model student teachers loved in his last life.
A tachi with a strange crimson hilt floated into his palm, and the moment the blade finished forming, the youth snapped his eyes open.
Scarlet pupils still carried a fox's wild edge. Focus flickered. Mo Ke laughed quietly and studied his hands. Long, pale fingers. Five of them.
He leaned over the water to catch his reflection. It was dark, but he had a beast's night vision. When the ripples eased, he touched his cheek in disbelief.
No way. This handsome guy just shows up without an invite. That is literally me from high school. Built-in salon hair and contacts. Too generous.
So the Shinigami conversion replaced the soul, and the fox body got occupied by me. Which means I look like I did before I crossed. Nice. System quality. I was half afraid I would turn into Sajin Komamura.
He pictured the dog-headed captain in orange-brown fur calling everyone "old man" and getting one-shotted by Aizen's instant Kurohitsugi. A quota filler among captains.
He looked too much like a fox for comfort. The pronoun and tone even matched. Good thing I did not pull that model.
He set his stance and swished the blade at the seal gate a few times while whispering Getsuga Tensho to himself, chuckling like an idiot.
No. Hot-blood protagonists who only yell and win by family relics are low class. I need style.
Even alone, a blush of embarrassment crept in.
He imagined pushing up glasses, spat a few times into his palm, swept his bangs back, curled a smile, reversed his grip, lowered the blade point, and dropped his voice until it purred.
"Shatter, Kyoka Suigetsu."
"When did you start assuming I had not used Kyoka Suigetsu."
In the dark seal space, sword tips kissed water again and again and weird giggles bubbled up.
Creepy, honestly. A black room with puddles and random laughter.
Playtime done, Mo Ke studied the power in his body and the Zanpakuto in his hand.
Reiatsu is straight soul power made from spirit particles. It is the pressure, the will, the field your soul generates. With that field you command the spirit particles inside and outside you.
As a tailed beast with near-bottomless chakra, his mind was always strong. The simple thinking that let Sharingan hook a bijuu had never meant a weak soul.
His spirit power had just been born and it was already startling. A burst of pressure to flatten small fry was no problem.
His reiatsu glowed blood red, yet unlike Kurama's blood-red chakra that felt violent and wicked, his pressure was only oddly colored, not uncomfortable.
He had a theory. Reiatsu is the soul made manifest. Chakra is the fusion of soul and flesh. Mind is soul, but not only soul. It is soul tinted by emotion and thought. Kurama's chakra felt evil because Konoha had to wear that sin. When Hashirama pinched the fox in one hand, it still looked pretty cute. Lock any temper in a dark box for decades and kindness turns uncanny.
As for the blade in his hand, that was the real gem.
He had felt chakra flow into his grip the instant the weapon appeared.
In Bleach, Zanpakuto are forged from Asauchi by the Blade God of the Royal Guard, then given shape by the wielder's soul.
He was ready to accept having no sword at all. The System had other plans. No Asauchi. Direct main-character treatment like Ichigo Kurosaki. It condensed a Zanpakuto from the Nine-Tails' chakra as the base.
Because it was literally his own power condensed, the moment he held it, the true name bloomed in his mind.
A great tachi. Hilt a dark red. Guard like a roaring fox. A ninety-nine centimeter blade launched from the fox's mouth, gently curved, three point three centimeters wide, snow-bright edge fading to black along the spine. A twenty-nine centimeter grip to balance the length.
Its name was Three Thousand Worlds.
One more delight. Perhaps because it used no outside crutch and formed wholly from himself, Three Thousand Worlds did not need to release. Its current form was already Shikai. A permanently released Zanpakuto. Rarer than rare.
He closed his eyes, wrapped both hands on the hilt, and felt the blade and his body knit as one. He tasted the power of Three Thousand Worlds in silence.
He opened his eyes and moved his heart.
In an instant he stood ten meters away.
Three Thousand Worlds. A space-type Zanpakuto.
Perfect. Flying Thunder God, Nine-Tails edition.
