Chapter 2 - Awakening!

"Adrian Valemont, a somewhat sad and misunderstood character in the popular web-novel 'The Hero returns'"

Sighing into the air, a handsome figure lazed under a tall tree as he used a notebook to cover his face.

However, as soon as he muttered the words, 'The hero returns,' a tinge of anger could be detected in his tone.

"Damn stupid Arthur," Adrian muttered, his voice carrying both irritation and disbelief.

Back then, a lot of people even thought he would be the main boss of the whole novel, possessing a powerful ability like will, which was practically omnipotent."

"With enough will, readers even speculated that Adrian, on his own, could easily shatter mountains with his fists and stun thousands or hundreds of thousands of enemies at once"

"However, to give that foolish protagonist an easy win, not only did you let his family collapse from internal and external troubles."

"But you made him suffer from various types of bullying due to his not awakening his family's shadow abilities."

"You even made his parents and siblings all die before him, breaking his will and leaving him easy pickings for the protagonist once the plot started."

Growling angrily, the boy couldn't help but clench his teeth in anger as he thought more and more about the plot of the story

However, logically speaking, that alone shouldn't be enough to make him angry; what really made him angry was something else.

"Damn it! Think of all this, I'm starting to get angry again."

"Who would have thought that I, a forty-year-old terminally ill person, would suddenly die and be reincarnated into this shitty book?"

"Not only that, but be reincarnated as one of the most tragic characters, the fallen noble Adrian Valemont!"

"Argh!!"

Clawing into his hair, no matter how much he thought about it, Adrian felt like his future was bleak.

It had been twelve years since he died out of frustration, watching the final battle scene drag on for another chapter.

Back then, after a sudden heart attack, he woke up only to see a huge, beautiful face in front of him with sky blue eyes, luscious gray hair, and skin so smooth that he could hardly believe it.

Just looking at the face, Adrian could have sworn that he was the most beautiful person he had seen in his life. Even finer than all the so-called models and superstars back in his hometown.

Only later did he realize that the woman he had seen at that point was none other than his mother in his new life, Mirella Valemont.

A name that instantly let him know what kind of world he was in.

"However, twelve years have passed since that fateful day, and I still can't believe it

Despite knowing the heavy dangers of the future, compared to my life alone as a terminally ill and crippled, should I say that I'm lucky?"

Standing an exaggerated six feet tall, with knee-length luscious gray hair, gold eyes, and a toned figure that remained highlighted through his shirt.

Adrian, feeling the strength in his body, believed it was the same as before

Because of this, it made the future more undesirable as he knew that if nothing else happened, he was destined to lose everything he had now in order for the protagonist to grow.

"Damn it! Damnt it!"

"Why is it that other transmigrators with all kinds of exploding heaven systems and invincible leveling systems?"

"However, I for one have nothing! Even my current height and physique are from my non-stop training!"

"In this world were all kinds of monsters, and sovereigns walked the earth, even if things were just like the readers guessed, and Adrian does have some hidden monster potential."

"There's no guarantee I would survive the final battle!"

Recalling that last smile on the heavenly demon, Adrian wrapped his hands around his body as a shiver ran down his spine.

"And to make things worse, today is the awakening day for the Valemont house; if my memory isn't wrong, this is the start of all Adrian's troubles."

"After failing to awaken the family's shadow manipulation, they mistakenly believe that instead of will, he awakens a low-level telekinetic power."

"It's only after the protagonist defeats him and steals his ability with the help of an artifact that we know the true value of the ability."

"And even then, because the protagonist isn't the original owner, he was unable to grow and develop it, only using it as a side assist."

Muttering under his breath, Adrian's eyes drooped as he slowly propped himself up against the tree.

Usually, he came to the spot in the garden to clear his head whenever his worries for the future piled up in his mind

However, considering the awakening ceremony was about to take place any moment from now, he knew a certain teacher of his would be angry if she knew he was lying down here.

And sure enough, as soon as he thought about this, a loud sound suddenly came into his ear.

'ADRIAN!!!"

"Don't let me find you lying about on your big day, or do you think my words don't have meaning!'

"Roll out for me! I still have to explain one or two things to you before you awaken."

Accompanied by this voice, the surrounding temperature began to increase as patches of grass all around him began to wither and dry up under the sudden heat wave.

"Damn woman, are you crazy! If you dare burn the garden, father won't let you go!" said Adrian

However, although he said this, he had already stood up from under the tree and tossed the storybook in his hand somewhere else.

Feeling the drops of sweat run down his forehead, he even wondered if it was the surrounding temperature of fear that was affecting him

Unfortunately, before he could think too much, a big hand suddenly pressed onto of his head, making him unable to move.

Not only that, but feeling the two soft mounds pressing against his back, his lips couldn't help but curl.

"Still soft as ever, I see," he muttered

However, realizing the said this out loud, he could help but close his eyes in despair as he knew what was next.

"Go to hell, you perverted disciple!"

Accompanied by another shout, the hand that was placed on his head directly smashed his face into the ground, causing it to crack.

*Bang!*

In an instant, his vision became blurry as the only thing he could see was a fiery, beautiful figure before he completely fainted.

This was none other than the second most important person to him in this life, after his parents, his mentor and teacher

Professor Maelis Duran, otherwise known as the flame witch, or the walking natural disaster.
