Chapter 131: Failing the second stage?
At this point, Lucuis's eyes had taken on a hazy look, but beneath that haze burned something else entirely, a fierce, unyielding flame that refused to be extinguished no matter how much the mountain threw at him.
His vision had blurred to the point where the summit ahead was little more than a smudge of lighter gray against the darkening sky, and yet his legs kept moving, carrying him forward step by agonizing step, because stopping now was simply not an option he was willing to consider.
They were only three steps away from the top now, three steps separating him from success and everyone who had made it this far from the completion of their goal.
But to Lucuis, in his current state, those three steps felt like three great chasms, that his exhausted body had no business trying to cross.
