I might have enjoyed writing the fight a bit too much. So it got a bit longer. But hey, I needed to show of both Gin and Usopp's mindset and their progression. So yeah… the fight is intense.
Also, with the recent chapters hyping up Admirals. I tried to do justice to the Vice Admirals.
The only ones we saw taking down Vice Admirals in the series were top level characters. Like, Sabo, Whitebeard…
And well, both Usopp and Gin aren't on that level.
Usopp is the only one with Observation haki. While Gin makes up for his lack of haki with his wild attacks and super strength.
Onigumo on the other hand is much older than them. He is an experienced Vice Admiral who was able to cuff Marco with sea stones in the War. So yeah, he is nothing to scoff at. In my opinion.
If Onigumo fought any of the top members' straw hats (in my stories) he wouldn't have been a threat. But that's not the same for Usopp and Gin.
So keep that in mind. Anyway, enjoy the story.

Present time,
The battle raged on in the crumbling ruins of the Tower of Justice. Gin panted heavily as blood dripped from his mangled fists, the wounds beginning to take their toll.
Across from him, Vice Admiral Onigumo scratched furiously at his haki-covered body, unable to concentrate due to the intense itching powder coating him. But even with that, from time to time the Vice Admiral would suddenly move attacking the pirates, and Gin had to defend against him.
And because of all the previous injuries and the new ones adding up, Gin was almost on his last leg. But the ancient zoan user refused to go down, displaying his outwardly will.
'I have to stand guard, until Groot and Franky are back at the ship,' Gin thought, panting as he went to all fours, ready to attack, 'I won't be able to hold off for long, I'm at my limit already.'
"Plasma Star!" Usopp called out an attack, that exploded right before Onigumo's location. But the Vice Admiral opted to blow the flames away with nothing but wind generated from his blades. It didn't do much, but it did create an opening for Gin.
Gritting his teeth, Gin charged forward once more. But Onigumo slashed all eight of his blades, creating distance rather than engaging. He couldn't focus on the fight due to the itching power, so he had to get rid of it, in some way.
"This is getting fucking ridicules!" Onigumo growled as his form grew a bit furry, gaining both Gin's and Usopp's attention. The spider zoan user stabbed both of his swords into the ground, as his size shifted, before…
Right before their eyes, Onigumo came out of… Onigumo? A butt naked spider-looking-horrifying Onigumo.
"What!" Both Usopp and Gin said at the same time. Their eyes comically bulging out of their skull. Certainly, seeing a butt-naked half-man spider wasn't something pleasurable to look at.
"Is that… is that his d…" Gin asked with a twitched eyebrow. "I thought only female members used seduction in the marines…"
"Oh, I think I'm gonna puke!" Usopp added, holding his mouth.
"Fuck you!" Onigumo growled. Quickly using his webs, he wrapped up his whole body, only leaving his eyes and mouth exposed. "Now, your tricks will be useless…"
Usopp really wanted to hit back with a snarky remark, but when the Vice Admiral glared at him, he opted to stay silent.
This was the only way to get that awful itching power away from his body. By shedding his own skin. And in doing so he used up a lot of energy. But it was worth it. He won't fall for any of their tricks. Not anymore.
"That won't save your ass!" Gin growled, going in for the attack. It seemed he also noticed Onigumo's state. And knew the Vice Admiral might be at his last leg.
"Come if you dare!"
Onigumo growled, his blades glinted dangerously as he swung them in precise movements, cutting through the air. Gin ducked and weaved, avoiding the razor-sharp edges. He aimed a punch at Onigumo's torso, only for the Vice Admiral to sidestep swiftly. Gin's fist slammed into the ground, cracks spider-webbing outward.
Onigumo went on the offensive, his multiple limbs allowing him to attack from all angles. The marine Vice Admiral now free from the effects of itching power could solely focus on the fight, and let his anger guide his blade instead. Never had he ever in his life wanted to kill a group of pirates this more. And right as he attacked, he almost managed to slit the ancient zoan user's throat.
But it barly missed him, cutting off Gin's helmet instead. Revealing Gin's face.
"You!" The Vice Admiral was wide-eyed, recognizing the pirate. A tense silence between them as Onigumo put two and two together, "You are Gin and the other one is Usopp of the Straw Hat pirates… You fucking pirates! You betrayed us!"
Gin and Usopp gritted their teeth on the account that their identity was revealed. But they didn't focus on it that much, they couldn't. Not when Onigumo was attacking them like a madman.
"We should have never trusted you pirates!" Onigumo growled, "You will die painful deaths! And I will make sure of that!"
This wasn't the time to justify why they were doing this. The man was hardly any mind to listen. And even if he was, that bastard was an absolute justice believer. They don't listen to reason. Their motto was only getting things done, not caring about anything or anyone that came their way.
Due to this, the Vice Admiral stopped caring about the Tower of Justice. He had to punish the pirates for betraying the trust of the world government and that took priority.
Gin could barely keep up with Onigumo's, using his Tekkai to withstand the blows he couldn't dodge. The sound of swords clanging against hardened skin rang out as Gin was slowly forced back. Blood now flowed freely from numerous gashes. With Onigumo's blades being covered in armament, Gin's defenses aren't working that much.
Even with Usopp helping him with cover fire. The Vice Admiral was in a frenzy, not letting anything hit him, while he clashed with Gin.
"Shit," Usopp muttered, charging forward. Using Geppo and Soru skillfully and effectively. He was always a good runner and it seemed that talent worked out for once, "Gin won't be able to last long…"
Was Usopp afraid? Of course, he was. Who wouldn't be, when a giant man-spider was trying to kill you in the name of a fanatic justice that put morality to shame?
Usopp came in, throwing multiple grenades. "Gin, fall back!"
Onigumo gritted his teeth and quickly covered his body, expecting a fiery explosion. But was stunned when the objects exploded into red power instead. And the moment the red power touched the Vice Admiral's eyes he felt burn like no other. He took a sharp inhale, which only lead more to his suffering. "Aggghhhhh! Another trick!"
More mad at falling for another trick than the pain from Tabasco powder.
