The next day, most of the Straw Hats returned back to the dungeon. As the dungeon was clearly shut off from the inside, they had to use the holes to crawl or jump down there.
Sanji had told Luffy about everything he came to know from the older Groot about the dungeon. How this dungeon was used as a research lab of sorts, with multiple unexplored rooms.
The dungeon stretched long, bigger than the city of Shandora, from underground, it almost covered one-third of Upper Yard. So there was a good chance of finding some interesting things down there.
And with the defenses down, most of the crewmembers scattered in groups to find anything and everything interesting.
Robin was in the main room, with Law, Luffy, and Kuina. With Law's powers and some tinkering, they were able to deactivate the dungeon. So she was trying to do something to activate a part of the dungeon.
Law rearranged all of the pieces back together but it did nothing as they still had the power boxes in their hand. The blue one was the main power core box, larger than the rest, yellow colored core boxes.
So except the blue one, Robin placed the yellow power boxes back into their places. She did it carefully one by one.
Kuina was there as in case of any explosion, she would able to freeze them. While Luffy was there for her sister if she needed a quick way out. Law was there, because his powers were needed.
But it seems all of their worries were for naught. They were able to successfully activate the dungeon, without its defenses. Meaning the walls could still be broken in from the outside. But that was neither good nor bad.
The dungeon defenses also included the mechanical golems and other stuff. So they were also shut down. Which was a good thing. No one wanted a fight, well almost no one.
Kuina and Luffy were quite sad that no fight broke out, but a look from Robin made them say otherwise.
Kuina returned to reading her books, while Luffy started helping Robin with what she needed. In a way, it was time to relax a bit.
Now that most of the worry was gone, Kuina could go back to reading. Robin had helped her a lot in the two weeks she joined the crew. Vivi and Sabo knew about the old language and did help in translating all the books from Tsurara Oikawa about Virf.
But they didn't have time to translate the other books. But Robin did. Unlike them, she was a fast reader, a very fast one, with her multiple hands, she was able to translate almost all of the books that they had gained from the frozen tomb in Little Garden.
She had a passion for it, and her translations were very easy to read through. But that's not the main concern. While reading through the books, Robin had figured something out from reading one of the books, Rihan Nura, the captain of the Black Moon pirates.
The book was a mix of short stories and poetry. But Robin hinted that it had something very interesting if you are able to figure it out.
So having free time, Kuina picked it up. And she was glad that she did. The book, which would easily be mistaken as some fool's whimsical desires was actually something akin to a hidden treasure for a blade user.
Rihan Nura was a swordsman, she had known that. In his book, he had written about in detail, on how to use his type of swordsmanship. Of coruse, it wasn't easy, as Rihan seemed to enjoy puzzles, so Kuina needed to practice how his technique worked and figure things out.
And it seems that the style of swordsmanship used by Rihan might be well suited for her. Rihan's swordsmanship was based around his physically weak body, which made him hard for his opponents to fight one-on-one. So at an early age he developed a sword style revolving around a weak physique.
Of course, later in life, his condition was cured after getting treatment in the Grandline. But by then he refused to change his sword style and built upon it. Adding layers to it to make it better. A sword style that made him one of the most feared blade users in the world.
And Kuina really appreciated that style of swordsmanship. It almost opened a whole new door for her. As a female, she was of course physically weak. With training of course she was able to do stuff that even ordinary men weren't able to do. But even then, most of her technique revolved around her ability to move at fast speeds and being nimble, not strength.
Even in her early years, the style of swordsmanship taught by her father was based around strength, so she had to adjust. Zoro had to as well but that was because he was using three swords, not because of the strength aspect.
She was training her way of the sword before Zoro or Luffy, and yet they were better blade users than her. It was hard to admit, but physical limitations might be a reason. Now, one way of bridging that gap would be by eating a devil fruit, preferably an ancient zoan or a mythical zoan. But she refused to do that. At least for now.
And her sword needed to be reforged with a devil fruit to repair its damage, so she wasn't going to eat one herself if it was a choice.
That's why the sword style used by Rihan was something she could work with. And if she was able to grasp it, she might be able to do something amazing with it.
