Chapter 64 - Chapter 64: Orochi

BOOM!

Saitama, Tornado, and Satoru Gojo leapt down from the crater's edge, landing hard, sending shards of rock flying.

Dust still swirled in the air when, out of the darkness ahead, hundreds of tiny white lights sparked to life!

"Hm?" Saitama blinked.

In the next instant, hundreds of fist-sized, blazing white orbs shot out like a swarm of frenzied bees, tearing through the dark with ear-piercing screeches, hurtling straight at the trio!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A chain of explosions swallowed their foothold in an instant! Searing flames and wild shockwaves raged, shaking the entire underground chamber, debris blasting everywhere.

Through the smoke and blinding light, three figures stood unfazed: one casually upright (Saitama), one hovering mid-air, cloaked in shimmering green psychic energy (Tornado), and one a blurry silhouette (Gojo).

"Hmph, child's play!" Tornado scoffed, her green psychic aura flaring brighter, crushing and popping the incoming orbs with ease.

Saitama just waved the dust from his face. The orbs hit his body and fizzled out without leaving a scratch.

Gojo didn't even flinch. The orbs never reached him, twisting and bursting against an invisible barrier meters away.

Behind the explosion's smoke, deep in a carved-out alcove in the rock wall, stood the Homeless Emperor—grubby tracksuit, tattered cape, long hair, and scruffy beard—his hands raised, fingers splayed.

New white orbs kept forming in the air around him, launching toward the explosion's epicenter with every flick of his wrists.

"Ha! See that, Black Sperm?" he crowed, eyes blazing with zeal. "Even S-Class heroes are gonna lose some skin after that!"

At his feet, a pint-sized, pitch-black monster—Black Sperm—jeered in a shrill, grating voice. "Lose skin? They're probably ash by now! S-Class? Pfft! In the face of Lord Homeless Emperor's divine punishment, they're just scrap metal! Hit 'em again, Homeless Emperor! Blast 'em to atoms!"

Behind Black Sperm, a massive, black-furred dog-like beast—Pochi—lay curled up, snoring loud enough to shake the walls. The explosion's tremors only made its giant ears twitch slightly.

"Tch, so noisy," Saitama muttered, digging at his ear, watching the orbs bounce off his bald head and vanish.

"Annoying! Shut up already!" Tornado snapped, her hand slashing through the air. A terrifying wave of psychic force erupted, smashing toward the alcove where Homeless Emperor hid!

The orbs in its path were crushed to nothing.

Black Sperm squealed, splitting into dozens of smaller clones that scattered in all directions.

The alcove exploded into a crater, rocks flying everywhere!

Homeless Emperor staggered back, eyes wide with shock, but his hands moved faster, conjuring orbs at a frantic pace.

Gojo's grin turned feral. "Oh? Quite the welcome party. Yo, Saitama, you want the fireworks guy, or should I take him?"

"Whatever," Saitama replied, his gaze drifting to the far end of the tunnel, where a faint, unsettling pulse throbbed. His brow furrowed slightly. "Something… big's over there."

"You guys are so damn chatty!" Tornado's green curls floated wildly, her eyes blazing with emerald light.

The entire underground chamber quaked violently. The rock walls around Homeless Emperor writhed like living things, squeezing inward!

"What?!" Homeless Emperor's pupils shrank, sweat beading on his forehead.

He thrust both hands upward, hundreds of tiny orbs merging above him into a massive, ten-meter-wide sphere of blinding white light.

The underground lit up like daylight!

"Giant Orb!!"

The terrifying energy surge made Tornado's brow twitch, and a dangerous glint flickered in Gojo's eyes.

"Ever since Gaio whooped me last time," Gojo chuckled, "I've been working on a little something. Perfect chance to test it out."

Tornado shot him a side-eye. "Huh?"

Gojo didn't explain, just raised his right hand.

A torrent of cursed energy poured from him, condensing into a rapidly spinning blue orb in his palm.

But unlike before, this Cang had a eerie black glow at its core.

"Cang: Gravitational Collapse."

"Quit screwing around!" Homeless Emperor roared, hurling the massive white orb. It blazed like a falling sun, screaming with destructive force!

Gojo flicked his wrist, sending the tiny blue orb drifting forward.

BOOM!

The moment they collided, something jaw-dropping happened: the blue orb, barely thirty centimeters wide, began devouring the massive white one like a black hole!

The white energy twisted, tore, and vanished into the blue orb like water sucked into a whirlpool.

Even wilder, the collision point warped, collapsing into a miniature black hole about twenty centimeters wide!

Everything nearby—rocks, dust, even light—started getting pulled in!

"This… this can't be!" Homeless Emperor stumbled back, his face pale with terror.

Black Sperm's clones scattered in panic. "What the hell?! What kind of monster is this?!"

Even Pochi, roused from its slumber, backed away, its massive body trembling, whimpering in fear.

The tiny black hole kept spinning, trying to swallow everything in the chamber.

Gojo grinned, his smile dangerous and gleeful. "Not bad, huh?"

Tornado's forehead vein throbbed. "Not bad? Are you kidding me? That black hole's still going!"

Gojo scratched his head, chuckling awkwardly. "Yeah, well… it's still in beta, y'know? Heh, can't exactly turn it off yet~"

Saitama and Tornado rolled their eyes in unison, too stunned to even comment.

The black hole didn't care, spinning faster, its pull intensifying, sucking in swirling clouds of dust and debris!

Buzz!

A blue arc of blade-like light flashed in front of the black hole, so fast it seemed like an illusion.

Pop!

The spinning black hole burst like a pricked bubble, vanishing without a trace.

Gojo's grin stretched ear to ear, his voice syrupy sweet. "Ha~ I knew my Gaio would have my back~ Love ya, Gaio~"

The three monsters nearly lost their souls in terror!

Homeless Emperor's eyes bulged. "W-What the hell was that?!" His "divine punishment" orb got swallowed by a black hole, only for some random blue flash to wipe it out?!

Black Sperm's main body nearly fell apart, its tiny clones huddling together, screaming, "This is insane! How many monsters did we just piss off?!"

Even Pochi, snoring like thunder moments ago, was wide awake, its huge eyes bloodshot, whimpering in fear.

"Run!"

Homeless Emperor's voice cracked. Forget dignity—he bolted deeper into the cave, his tattered cape flapping wildly.

"Wait for me, Homeless Emperor!" Black Sperm's clones scrambled to merge, its tiny legs sprinting to keep up.

"Woof!" Pochi yelped, its massive bulk moving with surprising agility, tail tucked, barreling through debris like a black gale, claws tearing up the ground.

Their only goal: find the Monster King, Orochi!

They couldn't stay in this hellhole a second longer!

"Eh? They're running for their lives," Gojo remarked, hand shading his eyes, grinning as the trio fled deeper into the cave.

"Hmph!" Tornado snorted, her green psychic aura flaring. She turned into a streak of light, not bothering with the tunnel, blasting straight through the rock walls, carving a direct path and overtaking the fleeing monsters in a flash!

Saitama crouched, then launched off the ground, leaving a shallow crater!

BOOM!

He shot forward like a human cannonball, leaving afterimages in the dust Tornado kicked up, catching up to her in a blink!

"Tch, so impatient," Gojo muttered, shrugging. His form flickered like a glitching signal, then vanished.

Almost instantly, he reappeared not far behind Saitama and Tornado, strolling as casually as if on a walk.

The chase lasted mere seconds.

At the end of Tornado's obliterated tunnel, the space opened up.

A massive underground cavern stretched before them.

In its center, on a crude throne carved from black stone—

Sat a terrifying, colossal being.

It stood at least twelve meters tall, its body wrapped in twisting, dragon-like purple muscle, radiating inhuman power.

Its grotesque head was cracked, sprouting countless sharp, retractable bone spikes from its crown and neck.

Its "mouth" gaped open, revealing layers of shark-like teeth.

Slitted eye sockets glowed with cold, emotionless yellow light, sending chills down the spine.

A tattered black cloak draped its hulking frame, adding to its menacing aura.

This was the Monster King—Orochi!

"Whoa, this guy!" Gojo's pupils shrank, his grin trembling with barely contained excitement.

The silent pressure radiating from the beast made the air thick and icy, raising goosebumps on his skin.

Tornado's usually irritated face tightened, her green eyes locked on the figure, brows furrowed.

This guy… he's no joke. A heavy weight settled in her chest.

Saitama, scratching his bald head, looked puzzled. "Weird… it feels kinda like that vibe I sensed outside, but not quite…"

He tilted his head, still trying to pin down the source of that vanished pulse.

RUMBLE!

Without warning, Orochi moved!

Its massive body rose from the throne.

At the same time, the countless bone spikes on its head shot out like living tendrils!

Dozens of dark purple streaks tore through the air with ear-splitting shrieks, like giant siege spears, hurtling toward the trio at the tunnel's mouth—Saitama, Tornado, and Gojo—ripping the very air apart!
