(SANDRA'S POV)
I'm standing in front of Bruno's apartment door, pacing back and forth. My heart won't stop pounding in my chest like a fucking drum.
I stop right in front of the door and take a deep breath.
One.
Two.
Three.
I ring the doorbell.
Now that it's done, my stomach twists into knots.
Should I just turn around and walk away? It's not too late. I could leave and Bruno won't even know I was here.
But before I can talk myself out of it, the door swings open.
Bruno freezes the second his eyes land on me.
"Sandra?" he says, his voice filled with shock and surprise. His eyes trail over me from head to toe like he can't believe what he's seeing. "What are you doing here?"
"Um…" I shift on my feet, adjusting my glasses, forcing my gaze down to the floor for a second before daring to meet his eyes again. "Can I… come in?"
His eyebrows lift. "Uh—yeah. Sure,"
He steps aside and lets me in.
