(KRYSTAL'S POV)
The screams won't stop.
They won't leave me alone.
I tell myself they deserved it. I tell myself they were monsters. I tell myself this is what justice looks like.
But it doesn't help.
I hear Aaron and Adrianna's screams when there's no music, no voices, nothing to distract me. It echoes inside my head like the sound is trapped there, bouncing off the walls of my skull.
And every time I close my eyes I see them thrashing. I see the flames burning up their bodies, their skin, their hair, their clothes.
I see Adrianna's mouth open in a scream that never ends. I see Aaron collapsing, his body giving out before the fire does.
Sometimes I even taste smoke. I breathe and I smell burning flesh even when I know it isn't there.
