Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: A Surprise from Home?

Several days later, in the backyard of the Katori Dojo—

Yoruichi Shihōin's injuries had completely healed. Katori Sora was now teaching her the "Raikiri" sword technique. The skills he received as system rewards were not for his exclusive use. After "Raikiri" reached the Mastered level, he had a deep understanding of it and could guide her without any pressure.

Sora said, "You know the Hadō spell 'Tsuzuri Raiden,' right? The way 'Raikiri' releases lightning is similar. 'Tsuzuri Raiden' releases lightning to attack an enemy along an object. But 'Raikiri' also requires you to use that lightning to stimulate your own body, to gain greater strength and speed for a more powerful slash."

Yoruichi scratched her head. "'Tsuzuri Raiden' I know, but if I use lightning to stimulate my body, won't I get hurt?"

"Of course you will," Sora said. "That's why 'Raikiri' is actually a very dangerous technique. The reason I dared to use it consecutively in Karakura Town is because I am also skilled in Kaidō and could heal the damage it caused to myself."

"Huh? So I have to know Kaidō to learn 'Raikiri'?" Yoruichi's face fell. "My Kaidō is terrible!" Learning it required a mountain of headache-inducing medical knowledge, an area she was completely inept in.

"I will help heal your injuries while you practice 'Raikiri'," Sora said. "If you become proficient enough, the stimulation from the lightning will be gentler, and you can use your Spiritual Pressure to avoid self-injury."

Yoruichi seemed to half-understand. "Let's just try it first. If you keep talking, I'll forget it all." She closed her eyes, gripped the hilt with both hands, and controlled her Spiritual Pressure, pouring it into the blade. Soon, the spiritual particles vibrated and rubbed together, turning into lightning. The blade began to crackle.

Before she could feel happy, a blood-curdling scream was heard: "AHHH!!!" Yoruichi fell to the ground in a spread-eagle position, her hair standing on end. Even her sun-kissed, oval face had turned a few shades darker.

Sora slapped his forehead and said helplessly, "Why would anyone be so ruthless to themselves? Couldn't you have used a little less Spiritual Pressure?"

"Rii, come over here and watch how I perform the treatment," Sora said, beckoning to Rii Hoshino, who was sitting under the eaves reading a book. She and Yoruichi had been the first to arrive today. After the deaths of her comrades, Yoruichi had become much more serious about her training. Rii, too, despite not being fully recovered from her severe injuries, insisted on coming to learn Kaidō.

"You both did a very good job that day. You don't need to put too much pressure on yourselves," Sora had told them.

"If my comrades hadn't come to support me, they might have had a chance to escape when the Great Hollows appeared..." Rii had said, her voice filled with guilt.

"The 'bait' was on that baby," Sora shook his head. "Once it was born, a large number of Hollows quickly converged on Karakura Town. Your squad was on a mission in West Street; it would have been impossible for you to escape in time." The details of the incident had not been released to the students. "Heal well. The better you are, the better you can handle unexpected situations in the future," Sora said, beginning to treat Yoruichi while guiding Rii. "For large-area injuries, never rush..."

After a while, the other disciples began to arrive. "Kana, who's this kid?" Kensei asked, noticing a small boy following behind her.

"This is my little brother—Shō. Don't just stand there, say hello," Kana said, pointing to her Professors and classmates. The little boy politely greeted everyone. Unlike his outgoing sister, he seemed a bit shy.

"So this is Shō. Later, your big brother will take you to have some fun in the Rukongai!" Kensei laughed.

"Professor, my mother asked me to teach Shō swordsmanship, so I brought him here. But don't worry, it won't interfere with everyone's training," Kana said with a grin.

"It's fine. Our dojo is quite large," Sora said with a smile. He casually checked the little boy's panel and was slightly taken aback by what he saw.

Shōya Azashiro

Talent: S+

Spiritual Pressure: LV 2

Affinity Level: Stranger

Status: Full of spirit

Kana's little brother's talent had actually reached S+! Based on his observations, S+ talent had the potential to become one of the strongest among the captains. In his circle of acquaintances, only Unohana, Batsunsai, and Kyōraku had reached that level.

Sora's smile couldn't help but grow wider. "Since he is Kana's brother, then I will teach him," he said, turning to Kana. "You are close to mastering 'Ryūkō.' Put in a little more effort and try to learn it in the next two days. After that, I will teach you another technique."

"If the professor is willing to teach him, that would be great! To be honest, I've never taught anyone before. I was afraid I'd lead him astray," Kana said, happy that her brother would receive guidance from a Professor she trusted. "Shō, quick, thank the professor."

"Thank you for your guidance, professor," Shōya Azashiro said, bowing.
