David rose to his feet from the gravestone, his face now looking much lighter. He turned to Liana.
"Thank you, Liana, for wanting to accompany me," David said.
Liana took a breath, trying to hide her surprise at David confession earlier. She returned to her reassuring professional mode.
"You're welcome, Sir. If it makes you happy, I will do it," Liana replied.
They walked in comfortable silence towards David car, parked a few dozen meters away. Once they reached the car, David opened the door for Liana, then turned back to look at Liana with a sincere smile.
"Now, you tell me where we are going," David said.
Liana frowned, pretending to be confused. "Going where, Sir?"
"Don't pretend," David chuckled slightly. "I heard what you said yesterday. You promised to take me to a beautiful and exciting place, right?"
Liana was surprised. She thought she had made that promise when David was sound asleep in her arms at the hospital. David really heard it.
