Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: A tube of magic medicine to conquer the underground boss!

As he spoke, he carefully took out a piece of paper from his pocket... Well, actually he didn't take out anything, he just gestured in the air.

Brother Chain frowned even tighter, staring suspiciously at William's hands dancing in the air.

"Street Volunteer Minor Injury Mutual Aid Insurance (Trial Version)."

William cleared his throat, deliberately making his voice sound steady and reliable, and each word was clearly pronounced with just the right amount of enthusiasm.

He looked at the other person sincerely. "This is specifically for minor bumps and bruises like a strained tendon, a bruise from overexerting your muscles, or a twisted joint. We provide the fastest and most effective compensation!"

"Most importantly,"

William paused deliberately, whetting the other party's possibly non-existent appetite, and then said in a mysterious tone, almost whispering, "There are free trial spots available now. Yes, sir, you heard correctly, it's completely free!"

He pronounced the word "free" loudly and clearly, with a confident smile on his lips.

This has been his trump card in doing business for many years - who in the world doesn't like to take advantage?

Especially when it is a bargain that is delivered to your door, as long as the other party really needs it, few people can afford it.

Brother Chain was silent.

In the dim light, William couldn't see the expression under his mask, but he could feel that the other party's sharp eyes were still locked on him, but it seemed that there was less hostility than before, and more scrutiny and... disbelief?

A free lunch? Or some new kind of scam?

"Free?" Brother Chain finally spoke, his voice still hoarse, but with a hint of suspicion.

"Absolutely true." William nodded immediately, pecking at rice like a chick. "You can think of it as a way for our company to promote new business. After your experience, if you are satisfied, you can consider our paid services in the future. If you are not satisfied, there is absolutely no loss, and there will be no subsequent harassment."

He made the promise with confidence, even though he was the only one in his current company and had a not very reliable system.

He paused, then decided to add fuel to the fire. "Also, to show our sincerity, after successfully activating the trial version of the insurance, we'll also give you a free 'Trauma Ointment Trial Pack'. It should have an immediate effect on relieving the pain and swelling in your wrist."

This is the killer.

William's mind was racing: for this kind of guy who's always fighting and killing and probably doesn't even bother to prepare a bottle of red medicine, this damn 'claims service' is useless. An ointment that can take effect immediately and relieve pain is the best choice!

Sure enough, when he heard the words "ointment for bruises and sprains" and "immediate results", Brother Chain's bandaged left hand moved.

He seemed to be weighing the pros and cons.

William held his breath and waited quietly.

He knew that urging at this time would have the opposite effect.

He knew everything in his mind, and the more he urged, the more alert the other party became.

The bait has been thrown. Whether you can catch this big fish depends on your concentration.

As time passed, the atmosphere in the warehouse became somewhat subtle.

The only sounds were the occasional meow of a wild cat in the distance and the whimpering of the wind blowing through the dilapidated tin roof.

Finally, Brother Chain spoke again, breaking the silence: "How do you experience it?"

The stone hanging in William's heart fell to the ground with a "bang", and he almost laughed out loud.

The smile on his face instantly switched from 'cautious' to 'feeling at home' mode, his enthusiasm was enough to melt ice, and his eyes looked like he was looking at a wealthy man who came to him with a check for a million.

"It's very simple, sir!" he explained briskly. "You just need to confirm this electronic agreement. It's a completely electronic operation, convenient and fast, and won't waste your precious time." As he spoke, he took out a mobile phone and clicked a few times.

A simple electronic contract popped up in front of him on the system interface at the right time, which clearly listed the main terms of the "Street Volunteer Minor Injury Mutual Aid Insurance (Trial Version)", especially the "free" and "gift" parts were specially bolded and magnified.

Brother Chain looked at William suspiciously as he pointed and his brows were furrowed so tightly that they could kill a fly.

Is this guy a fool?

"Agreement?" He snorted. "I won't sign anything that comes from an unknown source."

"'Don't worry!' William continued smiling. 'This thing is just like signing for a package. It's proof that you're happy to take this benefit from us for free. It clearly says it's free. Take a look, you won't lose out!'"

He pushed the phone toward the other person.

The pain in his wrist had indeed been bothering him for several days, affecting his nighttime "work".

If only there were free ointment that could relieve the pain...

"If I agree, then what?" asked Brother Chain, with a barely perceptible looseness in his tone.

"Then you can enjoy our service immediately." William's voice was full of temptation. "The ointment for bruises and injuries will also be delivered to you immediately." He deliberately emphasized the word "immediately".

"Immediately?" Brother Chain was obviously a little unconvinced. This was faster than magic.

"Yes, immediately." William smiled confidently. He believed the system wouldn't fail at such a critical moment.

Brother Chain was silent for a few seconds, as if he were wrestling with a final mental struggle. Finally, the stinging pain in his wrist overcame his vigilance.

"...Okay." He squeezed out two words from between his teeth, "I'll try."

Brother Lian Tiao took the phone and signed his name.

[Beep — Potential client "Chain Volunteer Police" has agreed to sign the electronic agreement for "Street Volunteer Minor Injury and Illness Mutual Aid Insurance (Trial Version)." Generating policy...]

[Insurance policy generated! Customer number: 003.]

[Trial version insurance activated successfully! A gift is being delivered to "Chain Vigilante" customer: Trauma Ointment (Special Effect Trial Pack) x1.]

The system prompt sounds rang one after another, and William felt ecstatic.

Got another one!

William put his hand into his pocket and pretended to grope.

The things provided by the system automatically appeared in his hands, and he couldn't expose them at this moment.

The next second, under the suspicious gaze of Brother Chain, a small tube of dark green ointment with a faint herbal fragrance appeared out of thin air in William's palm.

"This is...?"

"As you can see, this is the bruise ointment (special effect trial pack)."

William handed over the ointment with a perfect smile of a professional salesman on his face, "Our company's efficiency has always been like this."

He blinked mysteriously.

Brother Chain stared at the tube of ointment, then looked at William with a complicated look.

He took the ointment, which was slightly cool to the touch. There was no label on the tube, only a strong but not pungent herbal scent.

He hesitated for a moment, then unscrewed the lid, squeezed out a little dark green paste, applied it to his bandaged left wrist, and rubbed it gently.

A cool feeling instantly penetrated the skin, followed by a warm and comfortable feeling. The pain that was like needles and fire was actually visible to the naked eye... Oh no, it was quickly relieved at a speed that could be felt by the body!

"This..." Brother Chain couldn't help but exclaim in surprise. Although his voice was very low, the surprise in it was real.

He moved his left wrist, and the stiffness and soreness were significantly relieved.

This ointment is so effective!

The look he gave William finally showed less wariness and more surprise and... a hint of imperceptible recognition.

"It seems you were quite satisfied with our first experience," William said at the right moment, his tone carrying just the right amount of complacency. "William Rodriguez, at your service. If your wrist ever becomes eligible for compensation, or if your... uh, unique tool requires maintenance, feel free to contact me through this."

He took out a QR code and handed it over.

Brother Chain didn't say anything, but just silently put away the QR code that looked like it was hand-drawn.

"Then I won't disturb you from continuing... your exercise."

William knew when to quit, as his goal had been achieved. Staying any longer might cause unnecessary trouble.

He bowed slightly, performed a not-so-standard business etiquette, then turned around and prepared to leave this "client office" filled with the smell of rust and sweat.

Results are achieved, customers are satisfied, and gifts are in place.

Perfect!

Now, we just have to wait for this "Chain Brother" to submit a claim when his wrist injury worsens or his precious chain accidentally breaks.

William's lips curled up into an expectant smile, and he disappeared briskly into the night outside the abandoned warehouse.

The night wind was particularly loud tonight, but he felt that his insurance business seemed to have taken a small step forward.

Where will the next customer be waiting for him?
