Chapter 66 — Sleeping Together
Two simple words made Gu Yuena raise an eyebrow.
"That would indeed help a great deal."
The soul of a living God King — even a single wisp of it — was an exceedingly precious thing to her.
"But I'm not strong with matters of the soul. If, as you say, that divine consciousness is hiding inside the other person's Spiritual Sea, I won't be able to swallow it without harming that girl."
Huo Yuhao nodded. "No rush on this. We'll make plans after my teacher wakes."
By "teacher," he naturally meant Electrolux, Necromantic Holy Magic God.
Though in raw power, Electrolux was only a demigod, his research into souls was unrivaled even across the old divine realm; finding a solution when the time came would not be difficult.
Gu Yuena nodded her head slightly. "Tell me when you move."
"Mm."
At that moment, Electrolux remained deep in slumber, unaware of the world around him. They'd at least have to obtain the Life Gold before they could even consider this. Besides, the Continental Elite Young Spirit Master Tournament was just over a year away; there was no need to rush. Whatever they did would also have to get Dong'er's consent.
As he thought it through, a rough plan already began to form in Huo Yuhao's mind.
At Huo Yuhao's side, Gu Yuena — after a beat of curiosity — asked casually, "Is that girl your friend?"
"I…don't know."
Huo Yuhao was silent for a moment, then shook his head lightly.
"Friend, stranger — she might even be an enemy."
In his previous life, the rift between him and Tang San had been irreconcilable; how Dong'er would view him in the end, he could not say.
Yet the moment he had seen her a short while ago, his answer had come to him.
Let things follow their course. As for Tang San…
In any case, he must die.
Even if the man was Dong'er's father.
Gu Yuena nodded as if she half-understood, then suddenly handed Huo Yuhao an ice pop, the tip still glistening with a little crystalline liquid.
"Want it?"

The dormitory building had six floors in total; from the third floor up were the girls' dorms. If a boy was discovered inside, expulsion followed.
Of course — as long as they weren't discovered, there was no problem.
Huo Yuhao's room was 116 on the first floor; Gu Yuena lived on the fourth floor.
She didn't rush back to her room. For now, she sat on the bed that Huo Yuhao had just arranged, holding a fresh ice pop and watching him bustle about.
The other ice pop — the one from before — she had already forced into his mouth.
Because he lived alone, Huo Yuhao had pushed the two beds together. Compared with others stuck in tiny single beds where they couldn't even turn over properly, this arrangement could be called luxurious.
Watching him, Gu Yuena licked her ice pop and suddenly said, "Tonight I'll sleep with you."
"Huh?"
Seeing Huo Yuhao look at her, her eyes blinked innocently. "This big bed of yours looks more comfortable. Didn't we often sleep together at home?"
"You've got some nerve."
Huo Yuhao couldn't help but feel a wry sadness at the memory. When he had asked Gu Yuena for help previously, things hadn't improved — this'd gone from being tormented by one person to being tormented by two.
Whenever Sister Tang Ya pulled some little trick under the covers, this one wouldn't stop it; instead, she'd imitate it, doing the same thing again and again, purely to make matters worse.
Gu Yuena's expression remained unchanged; her tone was calm yet carried the weight of deeds done without seeking credit.
"I did it to protect you."
And the fact was true: from what Tang Ya had done the night she slipped into Huo Yuhao's room, if not for Gu Yuena, who knew what outrage things Tang Ya might have committed while alone with him.
On the surface, she hadn't done anything — but her contribution had been indispensable.
"Really?" Huo Yuhao asked with a skeptical look. "Then why were you always coming to my room even though sister Tang Ya had gone to the academy?"
Silence.
After a moment, Gu Yuena rose, smoothed her skirt, and walked toward the door as if nothing were amiss.
"I'll go back to my dorm room to tidy up. We'll eat dinner together later."
…
"Tang San, aren't you going to eat?"
Hearing his roommate's voice, Tang San — who had sat cross-legged on his bed, training all afternoon after lunch — slowly opened his eyes. Glancing at the already dimming sky outside the window, he smiled.
"You go ahead. I'll take a bath and then come to the canteen."
He swung his legs off the bed, picked up his towel, and headed for the door. His roommate couldn't help but sigh in admiration.
"No wonder you share the name of your ancestor, Tang San. Your Martial Spirit is Blue Silver Grass, but your talent is so good — and on top of that, you're so hardworking."
"At eleven years old and already a Spirit Elder? Even Ancestor Tang San couldn't top you at that age. How are the rest of us supposed to live?"
When his roommate praised him, Tang San's expression stiffened for a moment as a memory surfaced: why his father, Tang Ba, had given him that name. Then, as the flattery continued, he let out a faint smile.
"Ancestor Tang San's teacher once said: there are no useless Martial Spirits, only useless Spirit Masters." {T/N: I might vomit after hearing this}
"As long as you work hard, you can succeed too."
His roommate's eyes lit up, and he nodded repeatedly. "You're right. After dinner, I'll train hard and become a great man like Ancestor Tang San!" {T/N: Bootlicker number one is here}
Tang San smiled and inclined his head. "Good luck."
Although Tang San was by nature indifferent to fame and power, a quiet pride still rose in his chest at that moment. {T/N: He is a Saint, A bastard saint}
Indeed!
Shrek's achievements today were all because of him, Tang San!
Ten thousand years ago, it had been he who led that shabby, corner-bound academy to defeat the evil Spirit Hall and finally attain its present renown. {T/N: I am at a loss for words right now}
Without him, there would be no Shrek today.
Without him, the whole Continent might still be suffering under the Spirit Hall's oppression, people starving and miserable. {T/N: Commoners were really doing well in the Spirit Hall timeline. You have destroyed them for your own sake, motherfu..ker}
In his past life, he had single-handedly defeated two gods — the Rakshasa God and the Angel God. Becoming a god in this life should be no more difficult.
Smiling, he walked toward the shower rooms at the end of the corridor. Suddenly, a pale figure appeared behind him; an odd pair of eyes glared at his back with malice.
It was Dai Huabin.
He hadn't expected such luck. Returning from dinner, he chanced upon the youth who had poisoned him before.
It looked like the boy was about to take a bath.
The thought had barely formed when Dai Huabin's eyes flared.
Though he'd lost the fight two nights ago, he blamed the loss on the enemy's hidden weapons. Two guards later told him that even as Spirit Kings, they might have trouble against such hidden weapons.
So he'd been scheming ways to stop his opponent from using hidden weapons.
Now the chance presented itself.
Two nights ago, he'd noticed the youth had no storage ring, so the hidden weapons must be tucked in his clothes. When the boy went to bathe, he would have to undress — if Dai Huabin could barge in at that moment, he could give him a brutal lesson!
