After confirming that no one was coming out of the bushes, the six men resumed talking to each other. Dylan and his body double listened to their conversation. It turned out they were part of a group involved in illegal human trafficking. Their targets were teenagers, both male and female, aged approximately 12 to 17. They usually channeled them to various organizations: the Mafia, nightlife businesses, overseas laborers, and so on.
They also mentioned that they were indeed targeting the family vacationing in the cabin, which was usually empty, because they saw when Dylan and the others arrived. That's why they came to survey the situation and introduce themselves as rangers—so that when Dylan looked for help, he would fall right into their hands too.
"Hmm... their plan was to lock us up in this mountain, apparently. How nice," Dylan muttered in his head.
[Should we act now, sir?]
"Later. We'll deal with them when they go inside," Dylan replied in his head.
