REVIEWS AND POWERSTONES PLSSS!!!!!Chapter 87: Plotting Against Nagato

The sky was high and clear, the weather pleasant, warm winds inviting, birds singing and flowers fragrant.

Obito opened his eyes in confusion once again, looking at this place that seemed both familiar and strange, and at the cute girl running toward him.

"Obito~"

Rin's eyes sparkled with joy, her face smiling—a sight that made one's heart happy.

Being called so affectionately by the goddess he adored, Obito should have been so overjoyed his heart would burst. Yet somehow, he now only stared blankly at the goddess before him, as if something felt wrong.

It seemed—seeing Rin wasn't actually a very happy thing for him.

How could this be?

This wasn't right!

Obito subconsciously furrowed his brow, wanting to carefully ponder this problem.

But as his thoughts converged, the Rin before him suddenly dispersed like smoke. The romantic and relaxed environment around him collapsed as well, leaving only darkness.

Before he could be surprised or alarmed, a familiar voice sounded in his ear.

"Obito, you big idiot! Sleeping and slacking off again! Get up already!"

Accompanied by pain in his head, he rubbed it and got up, looking around in confusion. He found himself hiding in a small grove outside the village, apparently having been sleeping.

Before him, a cute little girl was scolding him angrily.

"Obito, the three of us were supposed to complete the mission together! How could you run here to sleep!"

"I didn't—" Obito reflexively objected, but immediately froze, his mind becoming confused again.

"Alright, Rin, stop scolding Obito. I've already completed the mission anyway."

Another familiar voice came from behind him. Obito turned abruptly to see a masked white-haired man squinting with a smile, waving at him.

"Kakashi!"

Obito couldn't help but call out, stepping forward to hug him, a great joy welling up in his heart.

"Kakashi, I'm so glad you didn't die!"

"Huh?" As soon as these words left his mouth, Obito froze again. Did Kakashi die?

But before he could think carefully, Rin's fist landed heavily on his head.

"Bastard, Obito! Who curses people like that!"

"Kakashi is so capable—how could he possibly die?"

"Even if you died, Kakashi wouldn't die!"

"Hehe..." Obito habitually rubbed his head and laughed foolishly. But his heart was completely filled with the joyful feeling of seeing Kakashi again—he couldn't bother thinking about other things.

But the next moment, Rin suddenly threw herself into Kakashi's arms, calling out very affectionately:

"Kakashi, let's just do missions together from now on, without this dead-last Obito."

"Ah, that's... not quite appropriate. After all, Obito is our teammate..." Kakashi rubbed his head in difficulty, making Obito furious.

Rin remained unsatisfied, still hugging Kakashi's arm and shaking it vigorously.

"Kakashi, I want to do missions alone with you! Please?"

Kakashi seemed unable to resist Rin's pestering and could only sigh and nod in agreement.

"Fine, fine. I really can't do anything about you."

"Then it'll just be the two of us from now on. We won't bother with Obito."

Hearing Kakashi speak this way, Obito standing stupidly to the side suddenly felt inexplicable rage surge skyward. His body completely lost control and rushed forward, roaring:

"Let go of Kakashi! Kakashi is mine!"

Then with a swift motion, he stabbed Rin through the heart.

"Pfft!"

Blood sprayed skyward, splashing across both Kakashi's and Obito's faces.

"Obito, how could you kill Rin?" Kakashi's face filled with fury as he grabbed Obito's collar and roared.

"I..." Obito stared blankly at the blood on his hands, his mind completely blank.

"Obito, you killed me..." Rin, face covered in blood, collapsed in Obito's arms. Her eyes were full of fear and helplessness, breaking Obito's heart.

"Obito, save me, Obito—" Rin pleaded tremblingly. "Obito, please, don't kill me—"

"No..." Obito woke from the nightmare with a cry, gasping for breath heavily.

After a long while, looking at his room's environment, he finally understood he'd had another nightmare.

He vigorously wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. His mind remained very confused.

"Why would I have such a dream?"

"How could there be such an absurd dream!"

"How could I possibly kill Rin?"

"And for Kakashi, no less?"

"Even if I died myself, I would never harm a single hair on Rin's head!"

Obito thought it over repeatedly, increasingly feeling this dream had problems!

Originally, he thought Danzo had harmed him with secret techniques. But after the battle at Konoha, Danzo was dead, yet the nightmares continued!

If not Danzo, who could it be?

After careful consideration, Obito once again directed his suspicion toward Uchiha Yasushi.

Though rationally he felt it shouldn't be Yasushi, of those who had grudges against him and the ability to harm him, Yasushi was definitely the prime suspect!

"No, whether it's him or not, I need to find an opportunity to kill this guy!"

"Unfortunately, Nagato keeps protecting this kid. To kill Uchiha Yasushi, I need to deal with Nagato's interference first."

Obito pondered carefully for a long time, then got up and left to find Zetsu.

The two had already been secretly colluding, their intimacy and trust far exceeding that with Nagato. Now they easily came together again and began plotting.

"Zetsu, the Rinnegan has been nurtured very well. There's no need to keep it with Nagato anymore."

"Why not simply dig out his Rinnegan and give it to me to use? I can still revive the Ten-Tails that way!"

Obito's face was grim as he directly stated his demand.

But after hearing this, Zetsu showed not the slightest hesitation, very decisively shaking his head in refusal:

"The Four Nations' movements are still unclear. Conflicts with them are inevitable later."

"Having one more powerful shinobi naturally provides greater assurance of success!"

"We have absolutely no need to diminish our own strength at this time."

"Hmph!" Obito snorted coldly, retorting sarcastically: "We can't only consider immediate matters—we must also consider long-term plans."

"You've only considered enemies from the Five Nations but haven't considered potential changes on Nagato's side at all!"

"If it were the previous Nagato with his half-crippled body, killing him and taking his eyes would be easy."

"But the current Nagato has been healed by Uchiha Yasushi. His body has no defects. And Yasushi leaked our intelligence. Do you still have confidence you can control him?"

"If he becomes the Ten-Tails jinchuriki himself after reviving it, how will you take back the Rinnegan?"

"Nagato is severely injured now—at his weakest moment."

"If we don't act now, after Uchiha Yasushi heals him again, it'll be much harder to make our move!"

After hearing this, Zetsu immediately fell silent, clearly recognizing this problem.

After a long pause, Zetsu finally spoke:

"This matter is too important. Let me consider it carefully before giving you an answer."

Obito didn't rush him, letting him leave on his own. But his heart was full of confidence, knowing Zetsu would definitely not allow a healthy, physically intact Nagato with overwhelming, nearly invincible martial prowess to exist.
