Elena's POV
By the time I reached the midway point, my mind was more settled, though shadows of the past few hours lingered ominously in my thoughts.
I felt an unsettling blend of fear and hope, or perhaps it was longing, a yearning for calm after the storm.
Despite the relative peace of the surroundings, I couldn't quite shake the disorder that had recently threatened to consume me.
I remember leaving Tiffany in the office with some other late-nighters, but I still cannot understand how things escalated so quickly.
"Adrian, what do you think is happening? Is this retaliation for the children we released?" I asked
"I think so, you will have to keep a low profile for the meantime, at least until we are able to know the organization directing all these attacks.
Right now, we are in the light and they are in the dark." Adrian stated
