My nakamas, This chapter is not part of the story. I'm writing it to inform those of you who also knew or followed my Wattpad account.
First of all, don't worry. This does not really affect Webnovel; the stories here will continue as normal. The problem happened with my Wattpad account. The main losses were my drafts, since that account was where I stored almost everything (yes, my fault, completely my fault).
Yesterday something quite unfortunate happened: my official Wattpad account was deleted. That was where I mainly wrote and published for my Spanish readers (also in English), and where I kept many drafts and notes because it was simply comfortable for me to work from that platform.
The deletion happened due to a copyright claim. The strange part is that it wasn't about Pokémon, but about Douluo, a translation that had been on the platform for years and was actually one of the first stories I ever translated. Because of that, I suspect it may have been the result of a user report.
If I'm honest, most of my frustration is directed at myself.
For a long time I knew I should have created my own tools to write and organize my stories instead of relying completely on external platforms. But out of convenience, I kept postponing it.
Now I've learned that lesson.
The biggest problem wasn't only the account. For each story I kept a private library where I stored important information such as character names, cities, world details, and Chinese name equivalents.
This library helped me maintain consistency while writing and translating. When the account disappeared, that library disappeared as well, and for a moment my mind went completely blank.
But don't worry.
Not everything was lost.
The only truly important loss was related to PKWC, mainly because of that library. It's not impossible to rebuild, but it will take some time to reorganize all that information.
The good news is that Chronicles is completely safe, so that story was not affected.
As for the new story, I will have to rebuild the drafts. However, this time I already know the direction of the story, the world, and the terminology, so I won't be writing blindly like when I first started.
That makes rebuilding it much easier than the first time.
Also, for those who don't know, I am a Computer Engineering student. After what happened, I have already started working on my own tools to write and organize stories.
The idea is to create an application that will allow me to build complete libraries for each story, manage characters, cities, and world elements, write chapters safely, and store everything locally with cloud backups.
This way, something like this will never happen again.
I might even end up creating a system that combines the world library and the chapter editor into a single application.
What happened yesterday was frustrating, but it also pushed me to finally build the tools I should have created a long time ago.
And to my Spanish readers who followed the stories on Wattpad:
I will not give up.
I will publish again on Wattpad for everyone who uses that platform and whose native language is Spanish.
I just need a little time to reorganize everything, rebuild part of the material, and finish preparing the tools I am creating.
Please give me between one week and, at most, one month while I fix everything.
After that, the chapters will return.
Because one thing is certain: these stories are far from over.
