Ebon Sun, now a real card, closely matched its anime effect. In the real card, you gain LP equal to the destroyed monster's original ATK, and if you discard a Spell/Trap from your hand, you can retrieve one from the Graveyard—this last effect was not in the anime.
From its name and effect, it was clear this card was designed to work with the undying "Supreme Sun."

Just like last turn, if Wicked Eraser is revived, it'll clear the field, and next Standby Phase, Supreme Sun will revive itself.
A perfect combo—one clears the field, the other keeps coming back.
"One wipes the board, the other's an undying attacker," Jaden said. "A terrifying combo."
