If it were the real-life card, Dark Fusion only grants targeting protection, but in this scene, effect destruction immunity made Gaia unstoppable.
"Tch, so it's got such troublesome resistance," Yubel muttered, frowning. "This is Supreme King's power?"
Mirror Force's shield shattered, Gaia's fireball crashed through, blasting away the darkness around the Evil God and burning a hole through its chest.

Eraser howled in agony.
But Jaden soon noticed something was wrong.
As Eraser's body collapsed, it didn't shatter; instead, it turned into a pool of black sludge, spreading rapidly until it became a vast swamp. Gaia tried to escape, but black tendrils grabbed him and dragged him down. Even Neo Space was devoured, as if the darkness swallowed light itself.
When the darkness finally cleared, the field was swept clean, shining like a mirror—nothing left.
"So that's it. This Evil God can erase everything, hence the name 'Eraser,'" Supreme King said.
"Exactly," Yubel replied. "When The Wicked Eraser is sent to the Graveyard, all cards on the field are sent to the Graveyard!"
She paused, giving a devilish smile.
"Too bad for you. Those Ojama Tokens on your field would each inflict 300 damage when destroyed. If all three were destroyed, that'd be 900—enough to finish you off.
But Eraser erases, not destroys—so their effect doesn't trigger. You got lucky, Jaden."
If this were the real card version, "when destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, destroy all cards on the field," the clearing ability wouldn't be as strong as the manga version, but here, it actually would've won.
"But this means we get more chances to hurt each other—works for me," Yubel smiled.
Jaden breathed a sigh of relief. "Looks like it. Luck's on my side."
"Idiot, is this the time to celebrate?" Supreme King snapped. "Your field is empty. The next attack could be fatal."
"I know, I know."
Jaden slid another card into his Duel Disk.
"I set a card and end my turn."
"My turn! Draw!" Yubel announced.
She drew two cards, playing the first:
"Spell Card—'Ancient Rules.' I can Special Summon a Level 5 or higher Normal Monster from my hand."
She revealed a high-level monster from behind that card.
"Special Summon—'Zoa the Fiendish Beast'!"
A blue demon covered in sharp black claws crouched menacingly, its face eyeless yet somehow radiating a chilling glare.

"Zoa, direct attack Jaden!"
The blue demon leaped, slashing down with its right claw, its killing intent covering Jaden even from across the field.
"Trap!" Supreme King barked.
"I know!"
Jaden grumbled. Even though he'd called his partner for help, having someone backseat-duel wasn't exactly comfortable.
Still, he followed Supreme King's advice.
"I activate my set card—Counter Trap, 'Negate Attack!'
Negate the attack and end the Battle Phase!"
A swirling wind shield formed. Zoa's claw struck the vortex, and it howled as it was launched back, tumbling across the field before retreating sheepishly.
Negate Attack was a favorite defensive Trap of Jaden's in the anime, hard to counter and able to stop further attacks by ending the Battle Phase.
"You survived another turn," Yubel said. "Impressive, my Jaden."
"I set another card and end my turn."
Jaden wiped sweat from his brow. "The Evil God's power is insane… I almost got wiped out, but at least I made it through. If I don't think of something soon, I might really lose…"
"Impossible," Supreme King said, cool and confident.
"Oh? That confident?" Jaden teased.
"Because I am Supreme King. That's all the reason you need."
"Ahaha, true. But you still lost to me, didn't you?"
Supreme King's tone instantly chilled.
"Sounds like you want a rematch."
"Just kidding! Maybe next time."
Jaden laughed, knowing if he kept teasing, their 'friendship' might not survive.
"My turn! Draw!"
"I activate the Spell Card 'Legacy of a HERO' If I have at least two Level 4 or higher 'HERO' monsters in the Graveyard, I draw three cards!" (Anime effect)
With multiple high-level HERO monsters in his Graveyard, Jaden drew three cards.
"Next, I activate 'Take Over 5'—send the top five cards of my Deck to the Graveyard!"
He sent five more cards to the Graveyard.
Supreme King peeked at the cards in Jaden's hand, smirking.
"Evil God—not bad. But let's show him what true darkness is—the symbol of power itself!"
Jaden didn't reply, but he got the message. Raising a Spell Card, another dark cyclone swept across the field.
"Spell Card—'Dark Calling'!"
"I banish the necessary Fusion Materials for a Fiend Fusion Monster from my hand or Graveyard and Fusion Summon a monster that requires 'Dark Fusion'!"
He revealed two cards in his Graveyard.
"I banish 'Evil HERO Malicious Edge' and 'Evil HERO Dark Gaia' to Fusion Summon!
Descend, demon of ultimate darkness—
Evil HERO Malicious Bane!"
