Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Revelation

As I stared at Emily's ghostly figure, my mind reeled with questions. What was she doing here? And why was she haunting me?

Emily's eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a chill run down my spine. She didn't seem malevolent, but there was something unsettling about her presence.

Suddenly, Emily's lips moved, and I heard a faint whisper. "Follow me."

I hesitated for a moment, unsure what to do. But something about Emily's words seemed to draw me in. I followed her, my feet moving of their own accord.

We walked through the deserted streets, the only sound being the soft crunch of gravel beneath our feet. Emily led me to an old, abandoned church on the outskirts of town.

She floated through the doors, and I followed, my heart pounding in my chest. The church was dimly lit, the only light coming from a few flickering candles.

Emily stopped in front of a old pew, and I saw that it was covered in dust. She reached out a spectral hand and touched the wood, and suddenly, the pew slid open, revealing a hidden compartment.

Inside, I saw a collection of old letters, tied with a faded ribbon. Emily's eyes seemed to bore into mine, as if urging me to read them.

I untied the ribbon, and the letters spilled out. As I began to read, I realized that they were written by Emily herself, detailing her life in the haunted mansion and the supernatural occurrences that drove her to madness.

But it was the last letter that made my blood run cold. It was addressed to me, and it read: "They're coming for you. Don't trust anyone."

Suddenly, the candles flickered and died, plunging the church into darkness. I was alone, surrounded by the oppressive silence.

And then, I heard Emily's voice, whispering in my ear. "Run."
