"We can win!"
In the stands, Naruto shouted, drawing everyone's attention.
He pointed at Neji with an angry face.
"Asshole! What right do you have to casually judge others? The battle hasn't even started, and you're already saying someone will definitely lose!"
"Shino, you've been put down like this. Why don't you even say something? Even I can't stand it anymore! Seriously, give him a good beating!"
Naruto's inexplicable temper left many people confused and bewildered.
Only those who truly understood Naruto knew why he reacted this way. Neji's words had struck a sensitive chord in him.
Especially Neji's last words: 'If you can't win, there's no need to waste your time on useless things.'
If Naruto had believed he was no match and refused to resist, he wouldn't be where he is today.
He had fought against fate from nothing, gradually gaining strength and friends along the way.
Neji's words were, in Naruto's mind, a denial of all his efforts.
Of course, Neji didn't understand this and just frowned slightly. This person is so annoying!
Across the arena, Shino Aburame's lips curled faintly. His silence didn't mean he agreed with Neji's words.
Shino had always been like this—he didn't like to boast or talk big. He preferred to act, letting his moves prove his intentions.
Naruto's shouting had disrupted the calm atmosphere, and Shino, in response, could no longer remain completely silent.
"Parasitic Insects!"
Shino raised his hand, summoning a whirlwind of black insects that swirled around him.
Since Neji was acting arrogantly, Shino had no need to hold back. Even with his cards on the table, he still had a chance to win.
"It's the Aburame Clan!" Neji said as his Byakugan focused on the insects.
"I've heard about your clan. From birth, your body serves as a nest for insects used as weapons. You control them at will, but in return, you must supply them with chakra."
Shino's expression remained calm.
He simply raised his hands, and more insects spread across the stadium, covering the area like a moving carpet.
Neji continued, explaining aloud as if thinking through Shino's strategy:
"You scattered the bugs to distract me, preventing me from noticing your true intent. But individual insects are too weak to form a meaningful attack.
You must gather them together before striking, which takes time. If I attack your body first, these bugs won't be a problem."
The Aburame Clan's reliance on insects meant their own strength was secondary.
Once an opponent closed the distance, they became vulnerable.
Shino remained calm. "Even if you see through my strategy, I can still achieve my goal. This is an open conspiracy."
Byakugan can see nearly everything in a 360-degree radius, so any small movement is meaningless in its sight.
Most Aburame techniques rely on surprise, since the insects are weak and easily killed if detected.
Neji, originally confident, felt his pupils shrink.
What the…?
The insects were multiplying visibly. If there had been 10,000 before, now they had grown to 30,000 or 40,000 in just a few moments.
"No!" Neji realized a problem.
The bugs needed chakra to reproduce, usually directly from Shino's body.
But now they were scattered in the air. How could distant insects absorb chakra?
Neji quickly analyzed with his Byakugan.
All the insects belonged to the same lineage and could transfer chakra between each other. The first batch, saturated with Shino's chakra, passed it to the newborns.
Simultaneously, the insects closest to Shino continued absorbing chakra and transferring it outward.
The competition field, hundreds of square meters, had become Shino's territory.
"Consuming that much chakra just to create more bugs?" Neji thought, but sneered.
"Bugs are just bugs. No matter how many there are, they can't become dragons. There's still a qualitative gap between us. Trying to win with numbers only makes the cruelty of reality more obvious."
Shino remained unmoved. "The Gentle Fist is indeed powerful. It can deliver dozens or even hundreds of strikes in a short time.
But your attack frequency cannot exceed the insects' reproduction rate. Even if you strike to limit their growth, their numbers will still rise."
Once the swarm reaches a critical mass, they could overwhelm any enemy, no matter how strong.
Missing even a single bug could let it land on you, feed on your chakra, and weaken you.
The bugs only absorbed a small amount of Shino's chakra for survival, but to enemies, a few dozen insects were enough to quickly incapacitate them.
Even knowing his strategy didn't stop him. This was Shino's trump card.
"So, what if I attack your main body directly?" Neji thought.
Confident in his own ability, he decided to act rather than wait. He rushed forward, repeatedly striking down the insects in his path.
Soon, Neji reached Shino and assumed a Gentle Fist stance.
"You've entered my territory!" he said.
Before he could strike, he realized Shino wasn't there—only a mass of insects remained.
"This is a bug clone!"
Shino's voice came from the original location. "When the chakra is connected, all parasites around me can become my clones. I can switch places with them at will. You can't stop me!"
"Tsk! What a troublesome ability!" Neji spat lightly, frowning.
It seemed that without showing his true skills, this would become a protracted battle.
