Chapter 94 - Chapter 94: The Interweaving of Time and Space and the Prelude to Hunting

As the lights of the experimental device grew brighter, Peter Parker's gaze became even more focused. He fixed his eyes on the control panel, completely absorbed in the mysteries of physics.

"Time dilation…" Peter muttered, a spark of insight in his eyes. He began explaining the complex concept to the surrounding scientists.

"In the framework of relativity, when an object moves at high speeds, time passes more slowly relative to a stationary observer. This phenomenon is called time dilation. The energy output of the particle-beam fusion accelerator has reached unprecedented levels. We are attempting to harness this principle to create a wormhole—a passage connecting different times and spaces."

The scientists listened intently, awe and curiosity in their eyes. They may not fully grasp the concepts, but they could feel the profound significance.

"We are now at the critical moment of creating the wormhole," Peter's voice carried authority. "The energy output of the device has reached a level that will distort spacetime and form a wormhole. But we must be cautious—this process involves tremendous energy. If it goes out of control, the consequences would be catastrophic."

Under Peter's guidance, the scientists began fine-tuning the control panel. Data on the screens shifted with every adjustment, reflecting the energy flow inside the device.

The surrounding blue light intensified, almost engulfing the entire room. A low humming sound grew louder, the atmosphere thick with tension and excitement.

"Attention! Energy has reached its maximum!" Peter warned, his fingers dancing over the controls with precise agility.

Under his operation, the light inside the device peaked, and strong energy waves rapidly accumulated within. The scientists' hands hovered over the panels, ready to make micro-adjustments at any moment, fully aware of the experiment's critical importance and unpredictability.

Suddenly, the energy fluctuations hit a critical point. Space itself began to warp, forming a small vortex. The wormhole became clearly visible.

"The wormhole is successfully created!" Peter shouted, his eyes shining with exhilaration and satisfaction.

The wormhole in the center of the device stabilized, radiating a bright, mysterious glow, seemingly connecting to an unknown dimension, exuding an almost hypnotic allure.

Peter's voice softened, tinged with melancholy. He whispered, "Mary… Aunt May…"

In that moment, Peter felt his heart beat anew.

"Good, good… just like this… no problems, absolutely no problems."

He watched the wormhole gradually fade.

"Now, we just need to channel the energy from the particle-beam fusion accelerator into the rift," Peter said, his eyes glinting behind the mask. He gave instructions to the nearby researchers.

At that moment, Bullseye appeared at the lab, saluting Peter as if delivering crucial news.

"Boss, Gwen Stacy wants to see you," Bullseye said respectfully.

Peter nodded slightly, recognizing Gwen as a former partner who now seemed to have something urgent to discuss.

"Let her in," Peter commanded after a brief pause.

The lab door silently opened, and Gwen Stacy stepped inside. Clad in a tight black suit, her expression was firm yet gentle. Her presence eased some of the tension in the room.

"Peter, long time no see," Gwen said, shaking his hand. She had shared similar spider abilities and had once been one of his closest friends, though their paths had diverged.

"Gwen… yes, it's been a long time," Peter replied, his voice choked. He still vividly remembered the moments from high school they had shared.

They briefly reminisced, then Gwen's expression turned serious.

"Peter, I've heard about your experiment," she said solemnly. "I understand your intentions, but I have to warn you—it won't succeed, and it could cause catastrophic consequences."

Peter frowned. On this matter, he was confident and unwavering.

"Gwen, I know you're worried. But I've considered every possibility. I believe this experiment will work," he said, his voice firm and resolute.

Gwen sighed, understanding his determination.

"Peter, you're one of the smartest people I know, but intelligence alone isn't enough to solve everything. Dr. Otto also calculated that this experiment carries massive risks and could even trigger the end of the world."

Peter's frown deepened. He could not accept failure or give up, especially when it concerned those he loved.

"Gwen, I understand your concern. But I cannot give up. If this could bring Mary and Aunt May back to me, I will accept any risk," he said, his voice filled with emotion.

Gwen sighed again. She knew how much pain Peter carried but had to stand firm to prevent him from taking a potentially catastrophic path.

"Peter, I know your intentions are good. But you must carefully consider the consequences. If this fails, it won't just affect you—it could affect the entire world," she said firmly, worry etched in her eyes.

Peter clenched his fists, his face conflicted, torn between emotion and reason.

After a moment, he relaxed his grip.

"Enough, Gwen. No one will stop me," Peter said, his voice chilling, filled with an ominous edge.

"Boss, Doctor Octopus is outside," Bullseye announced again.

Peter removed his mask and looked toward the door. Doctor Octopus entered, his mechanical tentacles poised to strike.

"Peter, I understand your desire, but what you're dealing with is dangerous. Time and space are the most fragile elements of the universe. Once you tamper with them, the consequences are uncontrollable," Doc Ock said gravely.

Peter frowned, surprised that Octavius would oppose him.

"Doctor Octavius, I understand your concern. But I've found a possible way. I believe this experiment can succeed," Peter said, his voice brimming with determination.

Octavius' tentacles shifted slightly, his eyes deep, searching for a way to dissuade Peter.

"Peter, I've made mistakes… mistakes that turned me into Doctor Octopus, an evil man. I don't want you to repeat my path and end up in a place of no return," he said, his voice growing intense.

Peter stared deeply at him, sensing the warning and inner struggle, yet his own desire and resolve remained unshaken.

"Doctor Octavius, I understand your past. But I cannot give up my current convictions because of it. I will take the risk. I will try," Peter declared firmly.

Octavius fell silent, then nodded slowly. He understood Peter and knew his resolve was set.

"Peter, I won't stop you, but I hope you seriously consider the consequences. No matter what, I'll observe from the side, hoping you find the answers you seek in this experiment," Octavius said with a hint of a sigh.

Peter nodded slightly, appreciating Doc Ock's genuine concern.

From a high vantage point, Nathan Hawk witnessed everything, speechless with astonishment.

He had first expected Gwen to stop Peter, then thought Octavius would intervene. Finally, he asked himself: Why don't they fight to stop him? Instead, they understand, advise, and ultimately support him from behind? Is this still the American comic world I know?

There was no choice—Nathan would have to play the villain himself.

Watching the researchers manipulate the control panels to open the sealed rift underground, Nathan knew the coming battle was inevitable.

He revealed himself, landing on the ground, facing Spider-Man and his allies, their expressions a mix of surprise and caution. He waved and said, "Hello, everyone. I'm just a repairman. Mind if I fix the rift below?"

"Bullseye," Peter said casually.

Bullseye didn't respond. Peter frowned, noticing him sweating profusely, struggling to move.

Seeing this, both Doctor Octopus and Gwen Stacy watched Nathan warily.

"Everyone else, get out," Peter commanded the remaining researchers and security personnel.

"Yes…"

Once the non-essential personnel left, Nathan turned to Peter.

"Peter Parker, I want to repair this spatial rift."

"No," Peter's body language shifted into a battle stance.

But behind Peter, Octavius and Gwen exchanged a glance.

"If you walk away now, I'll pretend nothing happened," Peter said, exuding a chilling predatory aura.

"If you choose to be my enemy…"

"…then my web will dismember your body."

Peter's face twisted with fury. His eyes bloodshot, eight sharp black appendages suddenly extended from his back.
