After confirming there were no "Abyssal" monsters on the battlefield, Liang Chuan decided to step in and help the players.
He played the assassin, intending to go cut down the Samachurl in the Hilichurl camp!
With his Agility stat, activating Gale Step was more than enough to get him behind the Samachurl.
Liang Chuan's sudden appearance sent the nearby players into a panic-stricken frenzy.
They weren't excited—far from it. They were scared out of their minds!
Some of them were practically ready to call Liang Chuan their savior.
What kind of game was this where your own "main crystal" charges into enemy lines?!
Bro, we're all new accounts—don't go doing crazy things!
A few timid assassin players who saw Liang Chuan's icon rushed to him.
Anyone could die. Liang Chuan absolutely could not go down.
If he died, their accounts would be lost too!
Of course, their valor wasn't entirely altruistic—there were main-quest rewards involved.
Even if they died, the quest reward for rescuing Liang Chuan would replenish a lot of lost health (and value).
While the players were grouping around him, Liang Chuan had already zipped to the three Samachurls at breakneck speed.
He pulled a two-star Silver Sword from his Boarhide Backpack.
Gale Step activated; then Shadow Break Strike!
One Samachurl melted in an instant.
A guarding Wooden Shieldwall Mitachurl reacted quickly—raising its shield and charging Liang Chuan.
He rolled aside to dodge, then switched weapons to the Seasoned Hunter's Bow.
"Fwoosh!"
An arrow flew—dead center.
The bolt pierced through the Wooden Shieldwall Mitachurl from behind, pinning the brute and its shield to the ground!
After dispatching the brute, Liang Chuan rose with his sword.
With flashing blade strikes, he finished off the remaining two Samachurls.
He wiped the blood off the Silver Sword.
Before long, the assassin players finally arrived on scene.
"Brother Chuan…you did this?!"
The player [AssassinNo.1FromGardenLane] pointed at the Hilichurl corpses, utterly dumbfounded.
Liang Chuan glanced at the player.
Really? As if he didn't do it—did those Hilichurls commit suicide?
"How high is your level, Brother Chuan? That combat power is insane!"
[HiHello] couldn't help asking.
"Level twelve…uh—now thirteen."
Liang Chuan answered plainly. The system didn't force him to pretend he was an in-world Teyvat native who didn't know what a "game" was.
He didn't need to hide when chatting with players—just not reveal the existence of his Fourth Catastrophe System.
To the players, "Liang Chuan" looked like an NPC controlled by the game company—an explanation that made his actions make sense.
"Thirteen and that strong? What class is Brother Chuan?" [HiHello] asked again.
"Look at the name above his HP bar—it says [Dragonborn]."
[AssassinNo.1FromGardenLane] answered: "I checked that class when creating my character. It has high stats but no active skills—pure melee brawler."
"No active skills? That can't be right—Brother Chuan clearly used stealth to dash past me!" [HiHello] shook his head.
"Then the only explanation is the company is controlling this character and has enabled stuff…" [AssassinNo.1FromGardenLane] speculated.
"Brother Chuan's strength must be different from ours—that's how he survives. It's basically a disguised difficulty nerf for us."
Liang Chuan listened to the analysis and almost wanted to give the player a thumbs-up.
A good player—capable of rationalizing "buffs."
"Thud! Thud! Thud!"
Suddenly heavy footsteps echoed. Everyone felt the ground tremble. Liang Chuan followed the sound and his pupils contracted sharply.
"There really is a big one in this Hilichurl camp…"
In the distance, a Stonehelm Lawachurl was striding toward them.
Using Liang Chuan's height of 1.85 meters as a reference, the Rock-Helm King was roughly 2.5 times that—about 4.625 meters tall.
Such a colossal creature walking straight at you in a fully realistic environment crushed the players' nerves; many froze on the spot.
But one player with the ID [Jump Up and Kick Your Knee] was unusually excited.
"Hahaha! I knew this game would have a place for me! I'll take that giant!"
He pulled a grappling hook from his bag, tossed it over to a nearby tree, and used it to fling himself into the air.
Liang Chuan squinted, puzzled. "What is he doing? Where did that grappling hook even come from?"
"He's an Acrobat—an assassin subclass. The grappling hook is made via the talent Craft Acrobat Tools," [AssassinNo.1FromGardenLane] explained.
"He's probably trying to use the hook to fling himself onto the giant's nape."
"Slice the back of the neck?" Liang Chuan raised an eyebrow. "Does cutting the nape really kill it?"
[Jump Up and Kick Your Knee] had practiced the flying-to-the-nape move countless times. Using his hook skill with expert finesse, he actually reached the Rock-Helm King's nape. He drew two short swords, struck a cool pose, and shouted, "Sayonara!!!"
Both blades swung for the giant's nape—only to meet disaster. The swords made two crisp snap sounds and shattered on impact.
"Ah…what the—" [Jump Up and Kick Your Knee] was stunned. The scene wasn't at all like he'd imagined. Why wasn't the giant's nape a weak spot?!
While the player was frozen, the Rock-Helm King's hand shot out and grabbed him. [Jump Up and Kick Your Knee] knew he was done. He hollered into team voice chat, "I'm filing a complaint! This game makes no sense! Speak up for me!!!"
A moment later the giant squeezed. The player exploded—gore and blood spraying everywhere.
The gruesome sight forced nearby players to don grimacing emotes; none of them had ever seen a human get crushed and burst like that. The visual shock was immense.
"Brother Chuan, let's retreat! There are giants in this camp—we can't beat them!" [AssassinNo.1FromGardenLane] grabbed Liang Chuan, pulling to run.
Liang Chuan hesitated in place. "Actually…this Rock-Helm King isn't impossible to beat," he muttered to himself.
"If its attack patterns match what I expect, killing it won't be that hard."
