Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: First Experience with the Reversal Watch — Epic Enhancement of Upgrade!

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for successfully receiving the Omnitrix template..."

"The Omnitrix template obtained is: Reversal Watch!"

Reversal Watch: All alien DNA within this Omnitrix has been corrupted. However, this isn't necessarily a weakness — it doesn't reduce combat power, but reverses each alien's abilities instead!

"Reversal ability, huh?"

Ethen raised an eyebrow, a grin tugging at his lips.

"Sounds interesting. Let's do this."

A flash of green light spread from his wrist as the new Omnitrix formed. Its dial was cracked, scarred, and battle-worn — a corrupted mirror of the original.

"I hope you won't disappoint me," Ethen muttered, lying back on the bed with anticipation.

The Next Morning

The Rustbucket stopped in front of a massive water park, glittering under the sun.

Ethen and Gwen, both in swimsuits, enjoyed the rides together. Gwen kept brushing against him, her eyes occasionally trailing down to his chest.

"Are muscles really that fascinating…" Ethen thought helplessly, glancing down at his sculpted build. Even passersby stole second looks.

"Hey, Ethen! Let's try the next ride!" Gwen said excitedly, tugging his arm.

He nodded. "It's a pity Ben can't join. These rides have strict height limits…"

Ben had wandered off earlier, grumbling about "boring height rules."

Just then, a loud whoosh echoed overhead.

"Yo! Look who's the coolest guy in the park!"

Ben swooped through the sky on a hoverboard, grinning like a maniac.

The crowd gasped in amazement. His stunt was flashier than any attraction in the park.

In a quiet corner, a bespectacled man snapped a photo.

"The Forever Knights will pay big for this hoverboard tech," he muttered greedily.

Half an Hour Later

As the group left the park, Ben stayed behind to clean his hoverboard.

Out of nowhere, several men in dark suits rushed in.

A cloth pressed against Ben's mouth.

"Mmph—!"

In seconds, he collapsed.

"Target secured," one of them said, slinging Ben over his shoulder.

"You're not taking the board?" another asked.

"Idiot. We're not here for that toy. We're here for the Omnitrix!"

The others' eyes gleamed.

"And rumor says… there's another kid with one."

A dark laugh followed. "Double payday."

Parking Lot, Sunset

The huge lot was nearly empty — just the Rustbucket and a few staff vehicles.

Ethen leaned against the van, scanning the park entrance. "Ben's taking forever…"

"Maybe he flew off too far," Grandpa Max said, concerned.

Before they could go looking—

"Hey, brat!"

A shout came from the gate. A man in bronze armor raised his blaster and fired!

Boom!

The laser struck Ethen square in the chest, exploding in a cloud of smoke and shredded cloth.

"Got him!" the warrior sneered.

"Ethen!" Gwen screamed, rushing forward.

But through the haze… a shadow moved.

Ethen stepped out of the smoke, unharmed — his combat suit torn but intact, muscles tensed.

Even the warrior froze. "What the hell…?"

Ethen glared coldly. "That blast cost me an expensive shirt."

He slammed the Omnitrix dial.

Click!

A surge of unstable green energy erupted—

A mutated Upgrade, etched with blood-red circuitry, emerged with a snarl. His armor glowed like living metal twisted with corruption.

"Oh no, he transformed!"

The warriors fired again, lasers filling the air.

"Ding! Mission: Warriors of the Forever Knights — Defeat the attackers!

Reward: 5 points!"

The corrupted Upgrade didn't flinch. Instead, his crimson eyes flashed — and every laser gun in range jerked out of its owner's hands.

"What the—!?"

The guns turned on their wielders.

"AHHH—!"

A hail of energy tore through the squad.

Ethen's Upgrade form grinned.

"So that's it…" he muttered. "Reversed ability."

Instead of fusing with machines through contact — he could now control any nearby tech remotely.

And not just one — multiple targets at once.

An epic enhancement.

One warrior tried to flee, limping toward a car.

Ethen extended a clawed arm. Blood-red lightning leapt to the vehicle — which roared to life, spun around, and smashed the fleeing man off his feet.

The others froze in horror.

Ethen, standing amidst the wreckage, his red circuits pulsing, looked down coldly.

"As long as there's tech around…"

"You can't beat me."
