Jaehyun didn't look up from his instant noodles. "Another what? Bureaucrat? Headache? Crop disease?"
"Green Awakener!" she squealed. "Age: eight!"
The noodle slipped from his mouth. "Eight?!"
Woojin ran in right after her, waving another report. "And another! Seventy-two years old! Old man, but still glowing!"
Jaehyun dropped his chopsticks. "Why do we have both the kindergarten and retirement home versions?!"
Within a Week…
The numbers skyrocketed.Children and elderly citizens all over the continent started manifesting faint green auras.
The government called it:
"The Second Germination."
Jaehyun called it:
"The Universe's Cruelest Joke."
The New "Green Training Center"
The once-quiet agricultural research base now looked like a playground exploded inside a greenhouse.
Kids ran around glowing faintly, accidentally growing weeds everywhere.One was crying—each tear sprouted flowers.Another tried to draw on a wall and made vines instead.
"NO—DON'T TOUCH THAT—" Jaehyun shouted, diving to save a sprinkler system before a toddler turned it into a jungle.
Bongyu, floating in his stroller, clapped and giggled. "Pwaaaa~!"
"Don't you encourage them!" Jaehyun yelled.
Woojin walked by with a clipboard. "Hey, Director, good news—our food output increased by 500%!"
Jaehyun froze. "Oh great. Fantastic. I'm unemployed because of children."
Meanwhile, the "Elderly Division"
A separate wing of the farm had been set up for the senior Green Awakeners.
Most of them refused to follow orders, claiming "the earth talks to them."One old man kept summoning giant cucumbers by humming folk songs.Another accidentally grew moss all over Jaehyun's tent.
Jaehyun found him that morning, sipping tea calmly amid chaos.
"Sir, with all due respect—why are you cultivating in my office?"
The old man smiled serenely. "Son, the soil likes you. She told me."
Jaehyun stared at the old man. "...I think I want to die."
Press Conference: The "Green Revolution"
Cameras flashed.The Council stood proudly on stage, dozens of children and old men behind them, all glowing faintly green.
"This is it!" the Minister declared. "The dawn of a new age! The Green Aura—reborn across generations!"
Applause thundered.Reporters shouted questions.
"Director Choi! How do you feel seeing your legacy grow?"
Jaehyun stared at the cameras with the most dead-inside eyes imaginable.
"I feel… tired," he said flatly.
Later That Night – Jaehyun's Breakdown #12
He sat outside the greenhouse, watching the moonlight glint off hundreds of baby-grown crops.Tiny leaves shimmered in the wind; laughter echoed from the training center.
Yuri sat beside him, holding a mug. "You know… this is actually amazing. You started something real."
He snorted softly. "Yeah. A daycare apocalypse."
Woojin joined them, chewing on a cucumber. "You've given people hope again."
Jaehyun sighed, leaning back. "You know what's ironic? The more they awaken, the less I matter."
He looked at his hands — faint green light pulsing faintly."It's like… the world doesn't need me anymore. Just my power, multiplied."
Tiny Footsteps
"Pwaaa~"Baby Bongyu toddled up, dragging a watering can twice his size.
"Hey, mini menace," Jaehyun muttered.
Bongyu poured water on Jaehyun's foot by accident.Instantly, grass sprouted around them.
Everyone laughed. Even Jaehyun smiled — just a little.
"…Fine," he murmured, patting the kid's head. "Maybe the world can handle a little green chaos."
Post-Credit Scene — The Hint of Trouble
Deep inside a ruined research lab, a figure watched a hologram of Jaehyun's growing army of Green Awakeners.
"So… the planet's will is manifesting again."He turned to a withered plant sealed in a glass case.Its roots twitched faintly.
"If life is spreading… then death must balance it."
A faint black aura began to pulse from the shadows.
And while Jaehyun complained about babysitting glowing children, something darker began to awaken beneath the soil.
