Chapter 13 - With My Wood Release, Is It Really Too Much to Build Some Houses?

Nearly a month later, Morax finally led the people of Mount Tianheng to their new home, reuniting with Jiang Yan and the others.

Guizhong had already prepared large open areas for the arriving population to settle.

"Hmm… There's plenty of open land," Guizhong said, rubbing her temples, "but the real problem is building the houses."

Morax stood beside her, head lowered in thought.

"Indeed," he agreed. "Constructing enough dwellings for all these people will take quite some time."

At that, Cloud Retainer floated over, fanning her wings elegantly.

"Let us build temporary shelters first," she suggested, "and move the people in once the proper houses are completed."

Her proposal was soon met with nods from the other adept present.

"Hey~ you're finally here!"

A familiar voice shouted from afar.

Jiang Yan, perched proudly atop the Dragon King Azhdaha's massive head, waved energetically at the crowd.

"That's… the Dragon King Azhdaha the Geo Lord spoke of?"

The gathered immortals all stared in astonishment at the colossal stone dragon before them.

Even though Morax had already explained Azhdaha's existence, seeing him in person was another matter entirely.

The divine pressure emanating from the dragon's body was almost on par with that of the Rock Lord himself.

The Lord's forces grow ever stronger…

Among those standing behind Morax, Mountain Shaper couldn't help but think this in awe.

Morax now commanded a lineup of divine power that included Jiang Yan, Azhdaha, Guizhong, and Marchosius—the God of the Stove.

It was an intimidating force.

Even Osial, the Vortex God, and his wife Beisht—two demon gods ruling the seas—would have to think twice before crossing them.

At this rate, any rival god would have to measure carefully before daring to act against Morax.

"What are you all discussing?" Jiang Yan asked curiously as he approached.

"The people have successfully migrated," Morax replied evenly, "but housing remains an unresolved issue."

Jiang Yan blinked, then burst into laughter. "Oh, that's what's bothering you all? You're overthinking it!"

He thumped his chest confidently. "Leave it to me!"

I mean, come on—what do I have?

Wood Release!

Building houses? Child's play!

Why do you think the First Hokage built empires and Yamato did urban landscaping? That's Wood Release tradition!

The others turned to stare at him, skeptical.

"Leave it to you?" Moon Carver raised a brow.

Even Morax's expression carried a faint trace of doubt.

"Relax," Jiang Yan said with a grin. "Building houses is as easy as pie."

He strolled to the vast open plain before them and clapped his hands together.

"Watch closely!"

Forming a hand seal, Jiang Yan pressed both palms to the ground.

"Wood Release: House-Formation Technique!"

The earth began to rumble violently.

"Wh-What's happening?! An earthquake?!"

"Lord Morax! Save us!"

Panicked cries rose from the newly arrived settlers as the ground beneath them trembled.

But moments later, the rumbling ceased—and the onlookers froze.

From the soil, countless trees burst upward, intertwining and shaping themselves into neatly aligned rows of houses.

Within seconds, an entire district stood complete—each home built of rich, sturdy wood, their design both elegant and harmonious.

They were so well-made that even Guizhong's original settlement paled in comparison.

"A-Amazing…"

Little Ganyu, standing shyly behind Cloud Retainer, whispered in awe.

The surrounding area fell into stunned silence.

"Whew~ all done!"

Jiang Yan stood up straight, dusting his palms off and flashing a mischievous grin.

"So? How's that? Looks good, right?"

He was very pleased with his work.

"It's incredible!"

"So amazing, Little Immortal!"

"Come here and let us touch you—such a clever child!"

A cluster of female immortals rushed forward, surrounding Jiang Yan, praising him while pinching his cheeks and ruffling his hair.

Behind them, the mortals murmured amongst themselves in awe:

"Was that built by the Wood Spirit Immortal who joined Lord Morax's forces?"

"Incredible!"

"As expected of an immortal! He made an entire settlement appear out of thin air!"

"Does this mean we'll never lack homes again?"

"Look—that's him! The little immortal!"

"Wow, he's so cute!"

"I really want to touch his ears…"

"Blasphemy! Show respect to the immortal!"

Amidst the chorus of praise and playful teasing, Jiang Yan crossed his arms, trying to look serious.

"Stop complimenting me! You'll make me proud!" he said, face betraying a barely concealed smugness.

Thanks to Jiang Yan's swift handiwork, the housing problem was solved in an instant, and the resettlement progressed at record speed.

The people of Tianheng quickly settled in, and under Guizhong's guidance, they began to merge harmoniously with the original population.

After further discussion, everyone agreed to name the region Guili Plains (Guīlí Yuán).

Originally, Cloud Retainer had suggested the name "Guimo Plains," taking one character each from Guizhong (Gui) and Morax (Mo).

But Morax had immediately refused—he thought the name sounded terrible.

After some debate, they took Gui from Guizhong and Li from Morax's mortal alias, Zhongli, officially naming the place Guili Plains.

Jiang Yan, of course, had his own idea—he wanted to build a whole city right away and call it Guili City.

But both Morax and Guizhong vetoed him at once.

Their reasoning was simple:

Building a city would require enormous resources, and with the demon god wars still raging nearby, Guili Plains could come under attack at any time.

There would be time enough to build cities—after the wars were over.
